Three ultra-progressive district attorneys in major urban centers - Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, Los Angeles County DA George Gascon, and Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner - arguably are the most prominent and powerful among the soft-on-crime crowd.
George Soros-backed Gascon has had his share of embarrassing moments, too - such as when he refused to file felony charges against an alleged sex offender, only to move forward with them following public outcry.
Here's a look at a dozen infuriating decisions by the trio: DA Gascon refuses to jail thug accused of slashing man's neck; same suspect later accused of murdering woman who was shot 19 times Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times via Getty Images Stefen Sutherland allegedly slashed a construction worker's neck in November 2020 after a noise complaint and was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, law enforcement sources said.
Gascon's office said it didn't know about Tubbs' murder allegations when the juvenile-facility sentence was handed down earlier in the year.
Gascon subsequently changed his controversial policy after outcries, noting that juvenile offenders now may be transferred to the adult court system "In the most egregious cases that warrant a state prison commitment." Amazingly, Gascon in early 2023 suspended a prosecutor for "Deadnaming" and "Misgendering" Tubbs, who later that year was sentenced to 15 years in prison for manslaughter.

The mother, who ripped Gascon for the light sentence against the teen who hit her and her baby, had this to say about the teen's murder: "The universe delivered the justice we weren't given in court, but a much harsher punishment than he'd have been dealt in a court of law." Editor's Commentary:
It seems that in their quest to appear "woke" and please their radical leftist supporters, they have forgotten their fundamental duty to uphold the law and protect the innocent. Here are just a few examples of their misguided and downright dangerous decisions:
Refusing to enforce laws against quality-of-life crimes: Whether it's turning a blind eye to public drug use, camping, or shoplifting, these DAs seem to believe that enforcing these laws is somehow "unjust". Well, I tell you, the only thing that's unjust is the suffering inflicted on law-abiding citizens and small business owners who have to bear the brunt of this nonsense.
Declining to prosecute certain crimes based on personal beliefs: In their wisdom, these progressive DAs have decided that for certain crimes, prosecution is simply optional. This means that criminals who commit offenses that the DAs deem "low-level" or non-violent are let off the hook, often with just a slap on the wrist. This is a slap in the face to the very concept of equal justice under the law.
Pushing to end cash bail: These DAs have joined the chorus of radical leftists calling for an end to cash bail, claiming it disproportionately affects the poor. What they don't seem to understand is that releasing potentially dangerous criminals back onto our streets is a recipe for disaster. The very notion that someone's freedom should depend on their ability to pay is offensive to common sense and fair play.
Supporting the defund the police movement: Incredibly, but perhaps not surprisingly, these DAs have expressed support for efforts to defund the police. This is a direct attack on the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. It's unconscionable and a clear indication of their warped priorities.
Advocating for prison abolition: Taking their progressive agenda to its logical extreme, these DAs have even flirted with the idea of prison abolition. This is not reform, my friends, this is surrender. It's a surrender to the criminals, to lawlessness, and to chaos.
Misusing their discretion to further their political agenda: Perhaps the most concerning aspect of all this is the blatant misuse of prosecutorial discretion. These DAs are selectively enforcing the law to fit their political narrative and advance their careers. It's an abuse of power and a betrayal of the trust placed in them by the people.
We cannot stand idly by and watch as these progressive district attorneys undermine our criminal justice system and endanger our communities. It's high time we hold them accountable and restore law and order in our great nation.
