Rand Paul Just Short of Forcing Vote on Audit the Fed Bill

Soon, the Federal Reserve could be forced for the first time to open its books and expose its machinations to Congress.

Senator Rand Paul (shown, R-Ky.) reports that he is “about seven votes short” of the 60 votes he believes would be procedurally sufficient to get a vote in the Senate.

In an interview with Kitco News just moments after he left the stage at Freedom Fest in Las Vegas, Paul explained that while the House of Representatives has passed numerous measures aimed at auditing the Federal Reserve, it is “taking forever in the Senate.”

He promises that he will keep trying, however, and he told Kitco News that he would be looking to bring Democrats on board as co-sponsors this time around in an effort to expand the reach of the measure.

Paul reports that he has targeted one influential Democrat in particular to be a co-sponsor: Bernie Sanders.

Under Barack Obama, National Debt Increases $100 Million Every Hour of Every Day

What took other presidents more than 200 years to do, Barack Obama has done in one year, and he continues doing it year in, year out.

During the Barack Obama administration, $1.1 trillion dollars has been added every year to the national debt.

This is not exactly the legacy one would expect from a man who, as a senator in 2006 said that “increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren.”

Ironcially, as president, Barack Obama has laid upon the backs of those very children and grandchildren a debt that increases by about $100 million every hour, every day.

It isn’t surprising to learn, then, that Barack Obama is the first president in the history of the United States to not have a single year of three percent growth in gross domestic product (GDP).

Obama Said Hillary Will Continue his Legacy – and Indeed She Will!

This Fall’s Presidential Debates

Hillary and even Bernie assured the Democratic convention again and again how much President Obama has revived the economy from the “mess” that Bush left. While Trump centers his disdain on the TPP (much as he knocked Jeb Bush out by saying that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake), he can reply, “What recovery? Have you voters really recovered from 2008?”

Hillary and other speechmakers at the Democratic convention criticized Trump for saying that “things are bad.” But according to the July 13 NBC/WSJ poll, 73% of voters believe that the country is going “off on the wrong track.” If Trump shifts his epithet from simply “Crooked Hillary” to the more nuanced “Crooked Wall Street and their candidate, Crooked Hillary,” he’ll score a ratings spurt.

Debt deflation and shrinking markets over the next two years do not provide much hope for increasing the minimum wage – which wouldn’t help much if one can’t find a job in the first place! By 2018 the continued stagnation of the 99 Percent may lead to a midterm wipeout of Democrats (assuming that Hillary wins this year against Trump), catalyzing an alternative party (assuming that she does not blow up the world in her neocon military escalation on the borders of Russia and China).

The problem with Trump is not mistrust; it is that nobody knows what policies he will back. The media are giving him the same silent treatment they did with Bernie, while accusing him of being in Putin’s pocket. He did admit selling some real estate to Russian nationals. Perhaps some of these gains fueled his presidential campaign …

The solution is not to save the Democratic Party, but to replace it. The debate reminds me of that about the Soviet Union in the 1950s: Is it a degenerated workers’ state, or a Stalinist bureaucratic mutation going the opposite direction from real socialism?

I wonder how many years it will take for Hillary to end up booed so loudly that she has to leave hotels and other speaking venues via their back alleys, much as Lyndon Johnson had to sneak out to avoid the anti-war booers leading leading up to the 1968 election.

FBI's Comey warns of 'terrorist diaspora' out of Syria if ISIS defeated

FBI Director James Comey is warning that even if ISIS is defeated in Syria, it won't make the west any safer.

Comey believes that hundreds of ISIS trained terrorists would fan out across Europe and the US, continuing the fight even if Islamic State ceases to exist as an organized force.

New York Times:

“At some point there is going to be a terrorist diaspora out of Syria like we’ve never seen before,” Mr. Comey said at a cybersecurity conference at Fordham University. “Not all of the Islamic State killers are going to die on the battlefield.”

Mr. Comey predicted that the military coalition would eventually succeed in crushing the Islamic State, but that “through the fingers of that crush are going to come hundreds of really dangerous people and they are going to flow primarily to Western Europe.” But some, he said, could well end up in the United States.

He drew a parallel between this scenario and the formation of Al Qaeda more than a quarter-century ago, which drew from fighters who had been radicalized fighting in Afghanistan in the 1980s and early 1990s.

“This is 10 times that or more,” Mr. Comey said. “This is an order of magnitude greater than anything we’ve seen before.”

Mr. Comey said the American public got a glimpse of what this threat would look like in the terrorist attacks in the past year in Brussels and Paris. “We in the American counterterrorism business are constantly focused on that — that’s not here yet, but that challenge is going to come,” he said.

Philadelphia Vs. Cleveland: Divided We Stand

Do Americans share Philadelphia's belief in Clinton's greatness and in the magisterial achievements of the Obama presidency?
Let us see. Fifty-six percent of Americans believe Clinton should have been indicted; 67 percent believe she is neither trustworthy nor honest. And 75 percent of Americans think that, under Obama, the nation is headed in the wrong direction.
After Cleveland, Trump took a 62-23 lead among white high school graduates, those who constitute a disproportionate share of our cops, firemen, soldiers and Marines -- and those interred in Arlington National Cemetery.
Given that the media are mostly "progressives," why do Americans who rely on that media hold so negative an opinion of Clinton, and reject the direction in which Obama is taking their country?
Does the reality they perceive help to explain it?
Consider. Obama did inherit a disastrous economy and growth has been at or near 2 percent a year since then. But this is not the growth we knew in the Reagan era.
And what, other than the trade policies we pursued, explains the deindustrialization of America, the loss of manufacturing plants and jobs, and China's shouldering us aside to become the world's No. 1 industrial power.

Inconvenient Truths 3

The problem with Socialism is that it never works.  Here is a book report.  Quote: "At 192 pages in a 4-by-7-inch (hardback) format, The Problem with Socialism is a quick read. A narrator spends 3 hours and 51 minutes reading the book aloud, unabridged, on (It is available also on Kindle).  DiLorenzo begins by showing why socialism poisons economic growth and prosperity and why it always and everywhere turns into an economic disaster. Three problems plague socialism, he writes: incentive, knowledge, and economic calculation problems. Key among them is an enforced lack of market prices, making it impossible to craft rational economic decisions."  And, "He dispels a number of socialist myths and superstitions about capitalism. These include the capitalist myths of “subsistence wages,” the “abusive factory,” “robber barons,” “predatory pricing,” and the “Capitalism-Causes-War” myth. Free market capitalism is about trade. “It is about the free exchange of goods and ideas, which encourages peace and mutual understanding.” Free market capitalism keeps wars at bay. It prevents war, not cause them." And, "(With the mainstream media studiously ignoring Venezuela, you can see what’s really happening there now by watching Jeff Berwick’s 26-minute video “Venezuela Descends into Chaos, Europe and US Next,” where he describes his recent visit to Caracas on YouTube here. See also this Venezuelan woman’s 3-minute video, “Raw Venezuela: Looter & “Streets Filled with People Seeking Food,” available here.)"

This guy does not have his head screwed on tightly enough.  It is likely that he is inadvertently revealing his own stupidity.

It is safe to say that Louis Farakan is a vile human being.  Quote: "Just a few short hours before a gunman targeted Dallas police officers for execution, killing five and injuring seven others, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan posted a vile message of hatred and called on blacks to use violence against white people on his Twitter account."   Watch the video.

Quote: "It’s a perilous time for Democrats.  As the party prepares to convene in the birthplace of democracy, it faces dangers from within and without that threaten to destroy its chances to govern at a time of uncertainty, upheaval and unpredictability.  The nation’s attention has just been focused on four days of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, capped by a speech in which Donald Trump told us we were unsafe and could only be saved by a strong leader unbound by political correctness, unafraid to confront the world.  Democrats have already begun focusing on the excesses of that convention but they risk missing the very important point: People are angry. People are fearful. There is a stifling political correctness in the country. Those feelings are real, and so are their causes. And the party that will win is the party that will best address them.

Hillary's knowledge of business and economics is by all accounts is lacking.  Her approach to these topics is decidedly socialistic or even fascistic given her propensity to have government dictate terms under which they operate.  She does not understand that government interference is a large part of what is wrong with our nation's economy.  Quote: "It is clear that the Left led by Clinton does not like executives getting paid regardless of how they get paid.  It is only acceptable to get compensation for books, speeches, making movies, supercilious television shows or protecting people from the government by being a lobbyist or lawyer who sues someone based on a new right given to people by Hillary’s accomplices.  The new rules would not only limit incentive pay, but mandate that 60% of these bonuses be deferred for at least four years.  These bonuses could also be required to be repaid (clawed back) for up to seven years after being paid in the event of losses attributable to poor judgment or undue risk-taking by the recipient.  Of course, a government apparatchik, who has had zero business experience, would determine the need for the claw back with information developed way after the fact.  One would think that people in the financial sector would think of Hillary being akin to their worst mother-in-law nightmare.  But that appears not obvious for many, particularly in the financial sector.  Clinton has drawn more money from the Wall Street sector than the others candidates combined.  To most these people would seem delusional, but you have to dig below the surface."

Obama's brother, Malik, was deeply disappointed with the job he did as president.  He even switched parties from Democrat to Republican and intends to vote for Donald Trump.  Quote: "Although he was born in Kenya, public records show Malik Obama has been a resident of Maryland, working for many years as an accountant, being registered as a lifelong Democrat.  But he told the Post his “deep disappointment” in Barack’s administration prompted him to recently switch allegiance to “the party of Lincoln.”  He said the last straw was the FBI’s recommendation of no charges for Democrat Hillary Clinton over her use of a private e-mail servers while U.S. secretary of state."

Quote: "The common understanding of the famous Marbury v. Madison case is that it established the authority of the Supreme Court to determine what the Constitution says. From there, it’s held that the Court gets to determine the limitations placed on the federal government as well as the states. In short, the rest of the federal government, and the states, are bound by what the Supreme Court decides.  But is that the truth? A paper from Northwestern University School of Law Constitutional Theory Colloquium Series seeks to clear up the myths associated with the Marbury decision. In the first sentence of his 2004 paper, “The Irrepressible Myth of Marbury,” Michael Stokes Paulsen sets the mood for the rest: Nearly all of American constitutional law today rests on a myth."

Are these people the kind you want to associate with?  Quote: "An elderly white man was walking on his way to work in Washington, D.C. when he encountered a group of Black Lives Matter protesters. (I guess that’s what kids do these days while the grown-ups work – or try to anyway.)  The protesters were gathered on the sidewalk, and the man wanted to be able to use the sidewalk to continue on his way to work, but the protesters wouldn’t allow it. He tried to walk through the small crowd, but they blocked him with their outstretched arms."

The debt disaster.  Quote: " The federal debt moved above $19,400,000,000,000 for the first time as of the close of business on Tuesday, according to the data released today by the U.S. Treasury."  And, "In the less than nine months since then, the federal debt has increased by $1,249,380,205,181.94"  I ask you, is this monstrous debt sustainable????  Congress and the President are now and have for some time been completely irresponsible in managing our nation's fiscal health.  If you don't think the situation is all that bad, take a look at the speed with which we accumulate debt.   This debt clock shows you in real time what is happening....

One has to wonder.  Quote: "The Democratic National Convention has turned a women’s restroom into an “all-gender” bathroom at the Wells Fargo Arena. The all-gender bathroom is one of the ways the DNC is infusing its party platform into the arena accommodations. The arena also has a “gluten-free zone” and garbage cans are categorized by landfill, recycling, and compost."  And, "At least one person at the DNC cares, according to media reports.  “I don’t need no man in the next stall next to me while I go to the bathroom,” a female employee of the arena told  “We need a male and female she said. I’ve got personal business. I’m trying to keep it real.”  “It’s privacy. I need privacy.”

Quote: "Under the guise of fighting “violence against children,” the Obama administration has joined forces with socalist foreign regimes and various United Nations agencies in a “global partnership” to wage war on parental rights. The controversial worldwide initiative, which aims to criminalize spanking and smacking as disciplinary tools, among other things, is part of the UN's Agenda 2030, also known as the “Sustainable Development Goals.”  Essentially, the UN is betting that framing the assault on families as a bid to end “violence against children” — something nobody in their right mind would oppose — will make it easier to pursue the sidelining of parents. The plan also calls for vast new data-gathering capabilities to ensure children are being raised in accordance with extreme UN standards that were unthinkable even a few years ago. But opponents of the UN agenda argue that the global organization itself is among the lead violators of children's rights — and parents, by contrast, are the primary protectors of children."

This is an example of what the progressive leftist, their intolerance of others and political correctness has wrought.  Quote: "According to Heat Street, after administrators at Cal State LA canceled a speech by Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro scheduled for late February, they were deluged with phone calls and emails from students, parents and alumni angry that the University was limiting free speech.  Two months before the scheduled speech, which was titled “When Diversity Becomes A Problem,” members of the administration acknowledged that Shapiro’s well-known criticisms of the tactics of the Left could engender an explosive reaction from furious leftists. Ironically, Shapiro’s speech was championing the value of diversity of thought and free speech."

Quote: "If elected, Clinton will be a tool of the special interests, Wall Street and the power brokers in the Democrat Party. If Trump is elected, he will be an independent leader answering only to the American people.  The choice is clear, and the stakes are extremely high; the status quo or change; continuing down the road to socialism or reversing course and embracing capitalism; saving our country from terrorism, illegal aliens, and criminals who target police officers or moving the country toward more lawlessness and chaos?  Hopefully, the American people will choose well in November. It may be our last chance to save America."

While I have no regard for Bernie Sanders, the Democrat National Party seems to have even less.  This item addresses content of 19,000 emails Wikileaks recently exposed.  Contents reveal just how unethical and corrupt the party leadership really is.  Quote: "On Friday, website Wikileaks posted over 19,000 emails that were taken from the Democratic National Committee that show story manipulation and collusion with the MSM, internal attempts to sabotage Bernie Sanders during the primary, and a whole lot more. This huge political story and scandal broke on Friday morning, though you may not have heard about it. It seems the collusion extended even to burying the story of the leak itself, as most news outlets gave it minimal coverage and little air time, and Twitter was accused of actively covering it up."  And, "There's so much more, and we'll bring it all to you over the weekend and through the convention. The short version is that the DNC really hates Morning Mika, really hates Bernie Sanders, and really didn't want you to know about it.  And neither did Twitter or the television divisions, apparently.  Democrats really are the party of collusion, corruption and cover-ups. No wonder they like Hillary so much."

Virginia governor and Hillary supporter tried to guarantee 200,000 thousand extra votes for her.  But the Virginia Supreme Court shut down his voter fraud scheme. Quote: "A huge vote bump expected by the Hillary Clinton campaign in the state of Virginia just vanished, thanks to that state’s Supreme Court, which Friday struck down the controversial executive order by Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe allowing hundreds of thousands of convicted felons to vote in November.  Approximately 206,000 Virginia felons were affected by his April 22 order.  But McAuliffe’s order is unconstitutional, the court ruled 4-3, ordering that the Virginia Department of Elections “cancel the registration of all felons who have been invalidly registered” since McAuliffe issued his order."

This is about countering the left's persistent need to correct other people's word usage.  Quote: "Because of the unusual left-wing fixation on making your tongue compliant, there is much hoopla in the opinion pages demanding you to refrain from the “harmful,” “racist,” and “perilous” phrase “All Lives Matter.”  The left is apoplectic if you say it, even if you’re a Person of Color™.  In an inexplicable attempt at comprehensiveness, has come up with a startling 9 super-helpful ways for leftists to correct non-leftists who are bigotedly using the obviously bigoted phrase.  That is, in the unlikely event that their leftist readers haven’t destroyed all contact with anyone who isn’t a true believer in all three legs of the Socialist-NonCisHeteroWhiteMaleist-Environmentalist triumvirate of Goodness."    This is a logical follow-up.

As usual the man's ego gets in the way of facts.  Ignoring or dismissing these facts confirms that he is delusional.  If he does not know it now the history books will detail his failed presidency and likely mark it as one of if not the worst in history.

This man is as corrupt as his boss and the EPA administrator belongs right beside him.  This item displays their utter nonsense.  Not one ethical fiber can be found in their being.  Quote: "Air conditioners and refrigerators pose as big a threat to "life on the planet" as the threat of terrorism, Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday. Kerry was in Vienna negotiating a global climate deal to phase out chemicals used as refrigerants in basic household and commercial appliances such as air conditioning and refrigerators, called hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs. The chemicals are a potent source of greenhouse gas emissions that many scientists blame for contributing to global warming."

This summary is certainly the truth and is most inconvenient for Hillary and the whole of the Democrat party.   Quote: "Then, looking forward to the coming week, Kupelian observes: “If you want to get an idea of just how far to the left the Democrat Party is right now … go online to the Communist Party – forget the Socialist Party – the Communist Party USA,”  “Do you know what they’ve got up there [on their website]? Their main themes?” asked Kupelian. “Stop the cops killing innocent black men, bashing Donald Trump and the GOP, global warming, stop Islamophobia, stop homophobia. It is a carbon copy, Perry, of today’s Democratic Party.”

Lawlessness has increased during Obama's tenure in office.  His defiance of laws as well as that of his administration and his total disdain for police have made major contributions to this situation. Quote: "The murder rate in 29 of the largest American cities was up in the first six months of 2016, according to data from the Major Cities Chiefs Association.  According to the data, reported on by The Wall Street Journal,  homicides were up 15 percent in the 51 large cities that provided information for the survey. More than half of that was attributed to two cities, however: Chicago, which is plagued by gang violence, and Orlando, where 49 people were shot to death at a gay nightclub in June by a man who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State during his attack."

The Philadelphia police are upset with the Democrats.  Their line up of speakers includes anti-police but none pro-police.  And the DNC wants police protection.  Go figure.   Contrast that with what Donald Trump did after the Republican convention where the work of and support for police was a theme throughout.    Everyone knows the Democrats have had a big hand in promoting Black Lives Matter actions and hateful rhetoric, Hillary included.  And, Obama has been beating up on police ever since he entered office.  No big deal.  Democrats are anti-law, multitude of evidence says so.

Inconvenient Truths 2

This is what egotistical maniacs do. Quote: "Addressing the Democratic National Convention on its penultimate night to lay out the case for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, President Obama began by recalling his political debut at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He then described how his family has become so well known to America in the intervening years. He spoke of his time in office, how the presidency has physically aged him, but how his daughters euphemistically note he now looks more "mature."  He spoke of everything he is proud to have achieved --  passing ObamaCare, expanding clean energy production, reducing consumption of foreign oil, passing the Iran deal, bringing troops home, killing bin Laden.  He spoke of how inspired he's become meeting Americans of all stripes. He spoke of his optimism. He spoke of the values he imparted from his family.  If it's starting to sound like Obama talked a lot about himself, that’s because he did.  In total, we counted 119 times Obama referred to himself during his speech ostensibly about Hillary Clinton."   The problem with his referring to his so called achievements, they are for the most part failures.  He did get bin Laden, but ask yourself what did it accomplish?

IRS officials knew of targeting of conservations for two years before it became public knowledge.  Quote: "These new smoking-gun documents show Obama FBI and Justice Department had plenty of evidence suggesting illegal targeting, perjury, and obstruction of justice," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "Both the FBI and Justice Department collaborated with Lois Lerner and the IRS to try to prosecute and jail Barack Obama's political opponents. These FBI documents show the resulting compromised investigation looked the other way when it came to Obama's IRS criminality.""

The political left is for whatever reason promoting the notion of "white guilt for ever." Quote: "The wellspring of WGF is "the legacy of slavery."  As the Obama administration wears on, the legacy of slavery is getting worse.  To protect Islamism, Obama reminded us, "In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often [were] justified in the name of Christ."  Mr. Earnest repeated: "The president made the point that the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow wasn't completely washed away just by signing of the Civil Rights Act.  So these are going to be challenges that future generations will have to confront."  Though slavery is still practiced in largely non-white, non-Christian countries, it has been seven generations since a half-million white Americans died to make black people free.  Nevertheless, Democrats anticipate future generations of guilty whites confronting the legacy of slavery.  The Democrat convention will be WGF Woodstock.  Hillary Clinton will not let go the manipulative power of the greatest guilt trip ever.  She neither understands nor cares about the tragedy of WGF: it psychologically enslaves the putative evildoers, while excusing black people from dealing with the violence they inflict upon themselves and securing their own lives, freedom, and happiness."

Quote: "The November 7-18 Marrakech, Morocco UN climate conference (COP-22) thus promises to be a lot of hot air, just like its predecessors. Officially, its goal is to accelerate GHG emission reductions, “brainstorm” with government and business leaders to achieve “new levels of cooperation and technology sharing” (and subsidies), and embrace “urgent action” to help African and small island nations survive the supposed ravages of manmade droughts and rising seas.  The true purposes are to pressure industrialized nations to end most fossil fuel use by 2050; intentionally replace free enterprise capitalism with a “more equitable” system; “more fairly” redistribute the world’s wealth and natural resources; and ensure that poor countries develop “sustainably” and not “too much” – all under the direction and control of UN agencies and environmentalist pressure groups.  We might ask: Replace capitalism with what exactly? Dictatorial UN socialism? Redistribute what wealth exactly? After we’ve hobbled developed countries’ energy use, job creation and wealth creation, what will be left? As poor countries get rich, do you UN bureaucrats intend to take and redistribute their wealth to “less fortunate” nations that still fail to use fossil fuels or get rid of their kleptocratic leaders?"  And,
"Rich nations used fossil fuels to advance science, create wondrous technologies beyond previous generations’ wildest imaginings, eradicate killer diseases, increase life expectancy from 46 in 1900 to 78 today, and give even poor families better living standards than kings and queens enjoyed a century ago.  Instead of holding poor nations and billions of less fortunate people back still more decades, we are ethically bound to do everything we can to encourage and assist them to throw off their shackles, and join us among the world’s wealthy, healthy, technologically advanced nations."

So it goes with the legal dodges of the Democrat party.  That is not to say Republicans don't engage in unethical practices.  It just seems the Democrats do so as a matter of routine.   More examples.    Soliciting funds from foreign governments is illegal, isn't it?

Sad but true.  Quote: "This week, as Democrats fawn over Hillary Clinton, I'm struck by how both Clintons continue to thrive despite their remarkable record of sleazy dealings.  The just released documentary "Clinton Cash," based on a book by Peter Schweizer, explains how they make big money by selling access to themselves. In a conversation, Schweizer told me how the Clintons use "speaking fees" to get around bribery laws. "If somebody gave a politician or family member money for a favor, that's breaking the law. But if you say it's a speaking fee, and you pay double or triple the normal rate, that seems to be legal."  Since Bill Clinton left office, he's earned more than $126 million giving speeches."

The economic numbers the Obama spouts are lies and deceptions.  Have been from the beginning.  Quote: "The Trump campaign is right that the 4.9 percent headline unemployment rate, touted by the Obama Administration, is misleading. Joblessness is substantially worse and not likely to get better if Hillary Clinton is elected.  In 2009, President Obama inherited a tough situation – the financial crisis and unemployment peaking at 10 percent in October. However, the recovery has been one of the weakest on record, and most unemployed Americans don’t qualify for many of the good paying jobs becoming available.  Poorly negotiated and enforced trade agreements and illegal immigration have been important."

Most of us know the various reasons why Hillary should not be president.  There's more. This item does a good job of establishing her very close relationship to financial institutions that have been bailed out at taxpayer expense.  She is really, really tight with them and rest assured she will look after their interests over ours.  If you do not believe me ask her why she refuses to release copies of all of her speeches to them, why they paid her (and Bill) so much money for these speeches and finally what did she (and Bill) promise to do for them?

The Democrat party is clearly the most divisive ingredient is the racial divisiveness now raging across the country. All one needs to do is look at its platform and the speakers who graced the stage on day one of their convention.  The day was capped off by Michele Obama spewing her racial venom to an apparently receptive audience.  Quote: "The FLOTUS did a re-run of her speech at New York City College in June. During the Democratic National Convention this evening, Michelle Obama said she wakes up every day in a house built by slaves.  How things change. Now the American people are slaves forced at gunpoint to pay for the extravagant lifestyle of the Obamas.  A heavily redacted report released by the Secret Service last year reveals Barack, Michelle, Malia and Sasha Obama spent over $71 million on lavish vacations. That’s about $10.1 million per year in known expenses.  The average American works over 100 days a year to pay for the government. That’s over three months of indentured servitude or slavery."

Absolutely no ethics whatever.  Quote: "Leaked emails show the Democratic National Committee scrambled this spring to conceal the details of a joint fundraising arrangement with Hillary Clinton that funneled money through state Democratic parties.
But during the three-month period when the DNC was working to spin the situation, state parties kept less than one half of one percent of the $82 million raised through the arrangement — validating concerns raised by campaign finance watchdogs, state party allies and Bernie Sanders supporters.  The arrangement, called the Hillary Victory Fund, allowed the Clinton campaign to seek contributions of hundreds of thousands of dollars to attend extravagant fundraisers including a dinner at George Clooney’s house and a concert at Radio City Music Hall featuring Katy Perry and Elton John. That’s resulted in criticism for Clinton, who has made opposition to big money in politics a key plank in her campaign platform."

Who says the Democrat party is not the party of and for the rich?  The Democrat National Committee offers rich donors political positions based on the amounts donated to the party.  In other words Democrats sell political positions to the rich based on amounts donated regardless of qualifications. Quote: "Democratic National Committee documents recently released by WikiLeaks include spreadsheets and emails that appear to show party officials planning which donors and prominent fundraisers to provide with appointments to federal boards and commissions.  The documents, which were circulated among top DNC officials in April, could raise legal questions for the party, says Ken Boehm, the chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.  “The disclosed DNC emails sure look like the potential Clinton Administration has intertwined the appointments to federal government boards and commissions with the political and fund raising operations of the Democratic Party,” Boehm told The Daily Caller.  “That is unethical, if not illegal.”    Here is more detail on this Democrat effort.

There is plenty of evidence that Hillary does not have good judgment.  But, here is real time evidence of her incomprehensible and incompetent decision making.  Democratic party chair, Debbie W. Schultz, was booed off the stage the first day of their convention.  It was a defiant delegate act as punishment for her incompetence.   Yet, Hillary praised her yesterday and even appointed her as the honorary chairman of her presidential campaign.   This is a  case of one incompetent hiring another incompetent.  And here she is passing the buck, yet again.  She is never accountable for any of her multi-dozens of mistake, snafu's, misjudgments, etc.   Not her ball to carry???  She was the official in charge.   She is no where close to being presidential material.

Just to be fair, here is an example of a dirt bag Republican violating the law.  He was one of eight Republicans who voted with Democrats for the debacle that eventually became Hillary's Benghazi disaster.    Hopefully he gets the punishment both he and Hillary deserve.

This is a contribution made to our country courtesy of progressivism permissiveness, lack of ethics, excusing of law breakers and loose support of the nation's laws.  Obama and his administration has led the charge by his own disregard for the law, his disdain for police and the lawlessness of members of his administration, not to mention Hillary.  Quote: "

Erased history gets a much needed airing.  Quote: "Hillary’s America, Dinesh D’Souza’s new film, isn’t only about Hillary. It’s mainly about the Democratic Party and the false history Democrats have propagated about it and themselves.   Democrats, not nasty Republicans, uprooted native Indians, took their land and gave it to white settlers, forcing them on the terrible "trail of tears" that Democrats portray was the fault of Republicans -- who, by the way, weren’t even a political party then.  It was the Democratic Party that championed the slave trade and racism prior to the Civil War and forced the forming of the Republican Party which denounced both evils and finally went to war to end them. Most Americans are vaguely aware that the war was over slavery but have no idea of the passion and commitment of Republicans to end it. They put their lives on the line.  After the war, Democrats formed the Ku Klux Klan as a terror group to quell black freedom. It became the military wing of the Democratic Party. “Progressive” leaders like Democratic icon, President Woodrow Wilson, were virulent racists. Democrats served in the Klan through much of the 20th Century. As big city bosses Democrats brought economic racism to urban areas throughout America. It was Republicans who got the Civil Rights Act giving votes to Blacks passed in the 1960s -- after nearly a century of trying to do so."

Total hypocrisy.  Quote: "But, as a pro-lifer, I couldn’t help noticing that for all the talk about children and families and uplifting one another and pro-abortion New Jersey Sen. Corey Booker’s “Declaration of Interdependence,” one member of the human family was conspicuous by her absence: the unborn child.  Surprised? Of course not. There hasn’t been room at the Democrats’ inn for the littlest Americans for a very long, long time. In fact, they grow more and more inhospitable each and every year."    Another example of leftist hypocrisy.

Inconvenient Truths 1

This should tell you all you need to know about the current state of the Democrat party.  Quote: "Patriotism took a back seat to racial grievances last night at the Democratic National Convention, as no American flags were visibly present at an event dedicated to picking a political leader for the United States of America.  Alex Pfeifer of the Daily Caller was among those who noticed: The Daily Caller is at the Democratic National Convention and it doesn’t look like there are any American flags. The stage is bland and grey, with no red, white or blue present. A thorough look at the crowd present also turns up no American flags."

Now that the conventions are over and the campaign begins, it is time to consider the alternatives.

Some inconvenient truths about blacks and slavery in the United States.  Both blacks and liberals have long ignored these truths. Quote: "One glaringly inconvenient truth that, odds are, few folks of any race are aware is that the very first legal slave owner in America was one Anthony Johnson—a black man. More specifically, Johnson was an Angolan who himself had been an indentured servant in the colony of Virginia before he became a tobacco planter himself. One of the African indentured servants who worked Johnson’s 300 acre plot of land was John Casor."   And, "Relative to their numbers in the population (27 million according to the 1860 census), a miniscule number of whites owned slaves. Eight million whites lived in the South, but of these, fewer than 325,000 owned slaves. What this means is that only 1.4 percent of the total white population consisted of slave owners, and only 4.8 percent of the white Southern population did so. In glaring contrast, in this same year, there were 4.5 million blacks living in America, and 500,000 blacks in the South. Over half of these—261, 988—were freed men. In the city of New Orleans alone, more than 3,000 blacks owned slaves. That is, 28 percent of the free black population consisted of slave holders.  In 1830, the Census Bureau notes that free blacks owned more than 10,000 slaves in the states of Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina. As Halloway remarks, “Large numbers of free Blacks owned black slaves in numbers disproportionate to their representation in society."  And, "In his Black Rednecks, White Liberals, in a chapter titled, “The Real History of Slavery,” Sowell’s commentary on the brutality of Arabic Muslims’ treatment of African slaves is particularly difficult to digest. Muslims, he says, “marched vast numbers of human beings from their homes [in Africa] where they had been captured to the places where they would be sold, hundreds of miles away, often spending months crossing the burning sands of the Sahara.”

Recently, our racial divider in chief held a faux "conversation" about race.  Here is an assessment.  Quote: "On Thursday, July 14, Barack Obama held a nationally televised “town hall” meeting on American race relations—and, unsurprisingly, punted on that “honest” discussion of race that he and his ilk accuse the rest of us of deferring."    For starters here are some things omitted.  "A truly honest discussion of race, you see, threatens the Racism-Industrial-Complex (RIC) or, alternately, Big Racism.  A truly honest discussion of race would mention that for virtually every kind of crime, blacks are perpetrators in numbers wildly out of proportion to their number in the national population. For instance, young black males constitute no more than one to three percent of all Americans, yet they are responsible for over 50 percent of all murders. A truly honest discussion of race would mention that police officers generally are more likely to shoot unarmed white suspects than blacks, while black and Hispanic officers are more likely than their white counterparts to shoot unarmed black suspects.  A truly honest discussion of race would mention that blacks shoot police officers at an astronomically higher rate than that at which officers have shot black suspects."  There are more but you get the idea.  The piece ends on this note: "When Barack Obama and his ilk are ready to face these (and more) challenges to Big Racism’s monopoly on the public’s collective consciousness, then perhaps we have a truly honest discussion of race."

This black commentator outlines the falsehoods the Democratic party hides or lies about.  Quote: "Why has the Democratic Party cultivated this legacy of death and historically attracted racists, eugenicists, genocidal maniacs and warmongers? I have no answer to that question, but I do know this: The Democratic Party has now been entirely co-opted by those dedicated to completely dismantling both our system of government and the rule of law. With regard to the First Amendment protections behind which these swine have cowered for so long, I defer to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s defense of his call for moratoria on Muslim immigration; this being that the Constitution does not grant America “the right to commit suicide.”

Radical left gets more radical.  Check out these Democrat party platform items. Quote: ") Because of the diverse audience we attract, there are a lot of Natural News readers who are still supporting the Democrats. If you're one of those people, it's time for you to question what you're really supporting because you may not be aware that the democratic party openly supports fracking, Monsanto, vaccine mandates, chemical agriculture and the TPP. On top of that, they're mostly opposed to GMO labeling, too. Only Sen. Sanders really stood up to the biotech industry on that point, and now after the DNC email leaks, you know how the democrat establishment hosed Sanders with a vindictive smear campaign to destroy his chances of winning the nomination.  The truth is, the Democrat party is not a party of progressive ideas. Even the progressive news website Common Dreams has authored this piece blasting the DNC for its betrayals.  Wake up, America! Today's Democrat party is a party that is beholden to corporate interests and government totalitarianism. On top of that, Hillary Clinton is not just a war criminal but an environmental criminal, collecting over a hundred million dollars in "donations" so that international billionaires could rape and pillage the land by clear cutting rainforests or mining for uranium to produce nuclear weapons."  And., "We can't let that happen, folks! We have to stop Hillary and the DNC. On all these issues we care about -- vaccines, GMOs, fracking, pesticides, etc. -- Trump can at least be reasoned with. Clinton, on the other hand, has already sold out to the globalists at every level. (It's truly criminal.)  Watch this Clinton Cash documentary to learn more. You MUST get informed!"

This is another example of Hillary's total lack of common sense and ethics.  She shilled for the terrorist group Boko Haram for two years all the while knowing it was a terrorist organization.  See why she did so.  Quote: "Why did Hillary Clinton's State Department drag its feet on the terror designation in the face of near unanimous opposition from the rest of the U.S. government?  A recent series of reports exposes that a close Clinton family confidante -- and Hillary campaign bundler -- who profited from Nigeria's lucrative oil fields. He engaged in multiple illegal deals throughout Africa.  Also, other donors to the Clinton Global Initiative are deeply involved in Nigeria's corrupt oil industry.  Were they the motivation behind Hillary's inexplicable position on Boko Haram?  As PJ Media's Bridget Johnson has previously asked, is Boko Haram Hillary Clinton's biggest scandal? Hillary Clinton is set to accept the Democratic Party nomination for president of the United States. Why is no one in the media talking about Hillary and Boko Haram?"    Do you trust her to care for America's interest over her own?  I don't.  Her history of satisfying self interests are legion.

Rep. Mia Love wants to limit congressional bills to one subject at a time

Rep. Mia Love wants to crack down on Congress dumping controversial legislation into unrelated, must-pass bills in the middle of the night.
The Utah Republican has introduced a measure to limit bills in Congress to one subject at a time. It would prevent lawmakers from bundling things together or folding legislation into large appropriations bills. Each bill would rise and fall on its own merits.
"Members of both parties have made a habit of passing complex, thousand-page bills without hearings, amendments or debate," Love said. "That process and the collusion that goes with it are why we are $18 trillion in debt and why the American people have lost trust in elected officials."
Love's proposal takes a page out of the Utah Constitution, which requires the Legislature pass bills containing only one subject and that is clearly expressed in the title.

It’s Time to Consider the Libertarian Ticket

Your editorial calls the Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson-William Weld ticket an “honorable alternative” to the presumptive Democratic and Republican nominees, and indeed it is (“The Libertarian Alternative,” May 31). If Messrs. Johnson and Weld were the Republican standard bearers rather than the Libertarian ones, they would enjoy the full-throated support of conservatives and classical liberals who cherish the GOP’s legacy of free markets and limited government. They are two successful former governors with unimpeachable conservative credentials on economic matters, tolerant views on social issues and bipartisan appeal to boot. In this election cycle, where the major parties offer voters a poor choice, the Johnson-Weld ticket is a no-brainer—or it would be if so many Americans weren’t conditioned to dismiss the idea of a third-party candidate out of hand.
Donald Trump’s ascendancy has demonstrated that on too many major issues, the GOP no longer offers a coherent message to counter Democratic dogma. Republicans pay lip service to the goal of smaller government, but no progress has been made on that front since the 1980s.
On the most important issues of the day—how to fix America’s ailing economy, America’s role in foreign affairs and the extent to which government should be allowed to curtail liberties to ameliorate perceived social problems—Libertarians, not Republicans, offer the starkest and most principled alternative to the Democratic Party.

Soros: Softer Rhetoric, but Anti-Brexit Plan Has Hidden Teeth & Claws

“Europe is about to collapse and has to be completely reinvented…. The very nature of the EU has to be put to the test,” said billionaire globalist George Soros (shown) in an interview Wednesday with The Hungarian-born investor/manipulator is an ardent Eurofederalist and has been a leading funder of left-wing NGOs and globalist efforts to transform the European Union into a full-blown socialist Superstate. During the run-up to the historic Brexit vote on June 23, Soros was personally active — along with other billionaire one-worlders, such as Jacob Rothschild, Richard Branson, and Michael Bloomberg — speaking and writing against the effort by British citizens to extricate their country from the strangling grasp of the EU.

But his influence went far beyond his public interviews and syndicated columns: His funding of numerous pro-EU/anti-Brexit NGOs and think tanks extended his Eurofederalist footprint across the continent. Joining in Prime Minister David Cameron’s “Project Fear” campaign, Soros told British voters that a Brexit victory would cause horrendous economic harm, including a “Black Friday” stock market crash and a collapse of the pound sterling, Britain’s currency. That did not happen, of course. And, in fact, the International Monetary Fund — which had also promoted the Project Fear bandwagon — has, since the Brexit, noted that the United Kingdom’s economy will likely outperform both France and Germany in the coming year.

Clinton Cash

This week, as Democrats fawn over Hillary Clinton, I'm struck by how both Clintons continue to thrive despite their remarkable record of sleazy dealings.

But if you say it's a speaking fee, and you pay double or triple the normal rate, that seems to be legal."

Since Bill Clinton left office, he's earned more than $126 million giving speeches. Nothing wrong with that. Bill likes to talk, and if people want to pay big bucks to hear him or just to say they were near him, so be it. It's their own money.

But what suggests influence peddling, says Schweizer, is that before Hillary became secretary of state, Bill's usual fee was less than $200,000. But after Hillary became secretary of state, he made as much as $750,000 per speech.

Rethinking America’s Global Role

generally liberal international order. Yet where once it seemed that U.S. foreign policy would be simpler and easier to manage as a result, the events of the past 15 years — the 9/11 attacks, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the Arab Spring, and Russia’s invasions of Georgia and Ukraine — strongly suggest otherwise. The world today is certainly safer for Americans than it was under the existential threat posed by the Soviet Union. But the world is undoubtedly more complex, as nonstate actors, shifting alliances, and diverse domestic political factors complicate U.S. foreign policy formation and implementation. A robust debate on America’s foreign policy choices is urgently needed.

Instead, policymakers and political candidates generally embrace the status quo. Bipartisan support exists for extensive alliance commitments, frequent military intervention, and higher defense spending. Though this orthodoxy is unsurprising since many candidates receive advice from a limited number of sources, it is deeply concerning. Debates tend to focus on which specific actions the United States should take, only rarely asking whether the United States should be involved, militarily or otherwise, in various global crises.

Even President Barack Obama, elected in large part thanks to his repudiation of the Bush administration’s conduct of foreign policy, has failed to alter the underlying bipartisan consensus that America remains the “indispensable nation” whose leadership is required in perpetuity. It is easy to see why this idea persists: America’s invaluable and outsized role in protecting the liberal international order during the Cold War was followed by two decades of unipolar primacy, where Washington attempted to exert its influence nearly everywhere.

Republicans Have Become the Party of No Ideas—and Democrats Have Become the Party of Bad Ideas

In a speech last night at the Democratic National Convention, Sen. Elizabeth Warren offered a contrast between her party and Republican presidential nominee. "Last week Donald Trump spoke for more than an hour on the biggest stage he's ever had," she said. "But other than talking about building a stupid wall, which will never get built, really, did you hear any actual ideas?"

It's hard to disagree with the idea that both Trump and the Republicans he represents have effectively abandoned governance. Last week's GOP convention was a nearly policy free zone in which Republicans all but bragged about becoming the party of no ideas.

Warren's speech, on the other hand, showed that Democrats have become the party of really bad economic policy ideas. The party has essentially committed to almost totally ignoring federal debt in favor of promoting an ever-expanding laundry list of benefits, programs, and subsidies, consequences be damned.

Warren didn't mention national debt or deficits at all in her speech last night. That seems frustratingly normal now, because over the past few years, Democrats have heavily downplayed the issue.

Should Third-Party Candidates Be in the Debates?

Dissatisfaction with the major parties is at an all-time high, and voters on all sides of the political spectrum are looking for other options.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have the highest disapproval ratings of any two major candidates in history. The #NeverTrumpers on the right and the #BernieorBust crowd on the left represent just two dissatisfied political coalitions. There are also libertarians and the plurality of Americans who identify as politically independent.

With this in mind, Reason TV asked delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia whether or not they believe third-party candidates like Libertarian Gary Johnson or the Green Party's Jill Stein should be in the presidential debates.

Why should I believe what Bill said about Hillary at the DNC?

Why should I believe a serial sexual predator, congenital liar, serial adulterer, seller of the Lincoln bedroom, seller of pardons, and releaser of Puerto Rican Terrorists and good buddy of convicted pedophile billionaire Jeff Epstein? Why would I believe someone who jacked up his speech prices when his wife became Secretary of State and someone who would just lie about Hussein having WMD’s?
Bill said he was going to correct the cartoonish depiction the Republicans gave of his wife but I believe I have spotted some things he must have left out inadvertently.
He forgot that she took $100,000 in kickbacks on cattle futures, that she pretended not to know about the Jennifer Flowers affair on Sixty Minutes, that she misplaced the Rose Law firm billing records, that somehow 900 FBI files showed up at the White House, that she fired the travel office and then she continually lied about it, that they trashed Billy Dale, that she falsely blamed a right wing conspiracy for that pesky Monica Lewinsky thing, that she trashed women who dared tell the truth about Bill’s habits, that she lied when she claimed Hussein had WMD’s in order to vote for the Iraq war, that she lied about her email system, (willingly violating national security laws and the Freedom of Information Act, that she didn’t lift a finger to save lives in Benghazi and falsely blamed a video, lying to Congress, the public and to the family of those that died.
Maybe he could have pointed out that she said she had absolutely no responsibility for security at our overseas facilities and that she didn’t send or receive one classified document in her four years as Secretary of State.
Maybe Bill could have explained where the world is better off after the last 7½ years of Hillary, Obama and Kerry.  When people say that she is the most qualified person ever to run for President they could possibly list accomplishments.  Traveling, holding a title, knowing peoples’ names and being born a woman are not actual accomplishments.
Bill could explain how the smartest woman in the World didn’t understand security laws, the Freedom of Information Act and the Inspector General Laws and what perjury is.

Day 3 at the Democratic Convention

The president headlined the night’s speeches, and a few of his boasts of his record headline our fact-checking report:
  • President Barack Obama claimed that under his administration, “we finally began to wean ourselves off foreign oil,” but dependency on imported oil had begun to drop years before he took office.
  • The president repeated a frequent boast that the U.S. “doubled our production of clean energy” during his tenure. Monthly renewable energy production has gone up 40 percent.
  • Obama said deficits have “come down” under his administration. That’s true, but they are expected to rise again soon under his proposed budget.
  • Vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine falsely referred to economist Mark Zandi as “John McCain’s chief economic adviser during the ’08 race,” in touting an estimate of job loss under Donald Trump’s proposals. In fact, Zandi is a Democrat.
  • Rev. Jesse Jackson wrongly said “we have not lost a single job, a single month” since Obama became president, and he was also off in saying the U.S. trades “more with Mexico than we do with China.”
  • Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta falsely claimed that Trump “says he gets his foreign policy experience from … running the Miss Universe pageant.” Trump didn’t say that was his foreign policy experience.
  • Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid claimed that the GOP ticket wanted to “gamble” Social Security “in the stock market.” But Trump’s campaign has called for making no changes to Social Security.
  • Kaine claimed that Trump said he “wants to abandon” our NATO allies. Trump has said that he doesn’t want the U.S. to leave NATO, but has suggested he would not automatically defend NATO allies that do not pay their share of defense costs.

Is U.S. Manufacturing Really in Decline?

Did you hear that U.S. manufacturing just had another big month? That output has risen about 20 percent in the past six years? That industrial capacity is actually expanding?
Probably not. At most times, and especially in election season, the talk surrounding U.S. manufacturing is one of relentless decline: a loss of jobs, the shutting down of factories, increased competition from foreign countries, a global war in which the U.S. seems to be on the losing end.
And of course, it’s true. At some level, manufacturing has declined dramatically — as a direct employer of American workers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 12.3 million Americans had payroll jobs in manufacturing in June. That’s down about 30,000 from June 2015, off nearly 1.9 million from June 2006, and down 4.9 million from 1996. In the past 20 years, in other words, America has shed 28 percent of its manufacturing jobs. In good times and bad, in recession and expansion, the manufacturing sector employs fewer people. It’s impossible to dismiss or talk around this trend.
But the decline of employment isn’t the whole story. Not by a long shot. In fact, in many significant ways, U.S. manufacturing is thriving. The point of manufacturing is to make stuff that people and companies will buy and use, not to employ people to make stuff. And by the former measure, U.S. manufacturing is actually doing quite well. (Note: Rex Nutting at Marketwatch made this point back in March.)

The heavy hand of government has silenced free speech this summer

Here is the back story.
Because both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are entitled to Secret Service protection by virtue of a federal statute, the Secret Service either offered or demanded that it be the lead law enforcement agency providing general security -- not just to Trump and Clinton but for everyone -- at the conventions. In both cities, local officials went along with this.
The freedom of speech issues arose when the leadership of both conventions got so cozy with the Secret Service that they began using the federal agency as if it were private security, and they did so in such a manner as to preclude judicial intervention in aid of the freedom of speech.
Thus, when the Republican leadership wanted to quell a "Never Trump" boomlet on the convention floor, it had the Secret Service remove all reporters and producers -- including some of my Fox News colleagues -- from the floor. And when the Democratic leadership wanted to silence a pro-Bernie Sanders onslaught on the convention floor, it had the Secret Service confiscate Sanders placards from delegates on the floor.

Last time the Clintons were in the White House, they dismantled black communities

The most frequent argument used to bully Bernie Sanders supporters into voting for Hillary Clinton, instead of voting for third party candidates like Jill Stein, is that voting your conscience is a “privilege” that only white people can afford to take.

However, the data is clear that the last time a Clinton was in the White House, minorities were jailed at higher rates than during any of Clinton’s predecessors, with 673,000 new inmates in state and federal prisons. Black poverty and unemployment rates also skyrocketed during the Clinton years. As Ohio State University law professor and acclaimed author Michelle Alexander wrote in The Root, Clinton’s presidency ushered in the mass incarceration epidemic:
“Human Rights Watch reported that in seven states, African Americans constituted 80 to 90 percent of all drug offenders sent to prison, even though they were no more likely than whites to use or sell illegal drugs. Prison admissions for drug offenses reached a level in 2000 for African Americans more than 26 times the level in 1983. All of the presidents since 1980 have contributed to mass incarceration, but as Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson recently observed, ‘President Clinton’s tenure was the worst.’”
During a recent Black Lives Matter march in Philadelphia on the second day of the Democratic National Convention, thousands of black protesters were seen chanting, “Don’t vote for Hillary! She’s killing black people!”

As Trumpism Replaces Conservatism: Is the Party Over?

It was Tuesday, Day 2, of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, OH.  I was sitting comfortably in the middle section of the arena directly in front of the podium.  Chris Cox, a representative from the National Rifle Association, had just stepped up to speak to the crowd of delegates, activists and media.  As Cox began his speech and stated, “You have to be able to protect yourself and your family…” I found myself being distracted by the fellow sitting next to me.

Could it be?  Was the guy actually booing?

My attention turned from Mr. Cox’ speech to the grumblings of the guy next to me.  I couldn’t contain myself any longer.  In disbelief, I asked the 40+ year old fellow:  “Are you a Republican?” No answer.

The Barbarians Must Be Stopped

Everyone admires the intriguing puzzles and solutions in the stories of Sherlock Holmes.  In The Adventures of Silver Blaze, the curious incident of the dog that did nothing – did not bark – in the night was the clue toward solving the mystery.  Sherlock is needed to solve the mystery of why, on July 25, 2016, at the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, the 61 speeches may have been full of bite, but none uttered a whisper, let alone a bark, about the menace of ISIS and Islamist terrorism.
The mystery deepens with the appalling news a few hours after the end of that first day that two Islamist terrorists, armed with knives, had entered a Catholic Church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, a few miles from Rouen in Normandy, France, during morning service on July 26, 2016. They forced the octogenarian priest, Father Jacques Hamel, to kneel and filmed his death as they slit his throat.  They took nuns and others hostage before they were killed by French police.  ISIS promptly called them "two soldiers of the Islamic State."
Another terrorist referred to in the incident by the French police is a 24-year-old Algerian computer student named Sis Ahmed Ghlam, known to the authorities since he was arrested in April 2015 after he had called for an ambulance after he shot himself in the leg.  He was arrested on suspicion of planning "imminent" terror attacks.  In his car, the police discovered weapons including Kalashnikovs, a police-issued pistol, and bulletproof vests.  Even more important, they found plans for terrorist attacks on other churches, including the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris.  This terrorist is in prison charged with the murder of a 32-year-old woman who was shot three times in the head.
