Presidential memoranda vs. executive orders. What's the difference?

President Trump signed three high-level presidential directives on Monday, but they weren't executive orders.
Instead, they were styled as presidential memoranda,  an increasingly common but lesser known expression of presidential power that came to replace many executive orders under President Obama.
Presidential memoranda are "executive orders by another name, and yet unique," wrote presidential scholar Phillip Cooper on his book By Order of the President: The Use and Abuse of Executive Direct Action.
Both forms of presidential action have the force of law on the executive branch, and sometimes they seem to be used interchangeably. Even presidents sometimes mix them up, referring to memoranda as executive orders, as President Trump did Monday on Facebook.
"Something that's in a presidential memorandum in one administration might be captured in an executive order in another," Jim Hemphill of the Office of the Federal Register told USA TODAY in 2014. "There's no guidance that says, 'Mr. President, here's what needs to be in an executive order.'"
So the differences can be subtle and subjective, but here are a few:

Executive Orders

The Democrats Retreat From Reality

“Retreat” is an appropriate description of what took place in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, this week. Senate Democrats took a break from not confirming President Trump’s cabinet to visit this historic city in a state the president won by 40 points. According to Politico the assembled were scheduled to hear from associates of the Clinton family and to “hold lessons on how to talk to real people.” Oh to be a fly on the wall.

I like to imagine Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer nodding sagely as Joe Manchin, the only Democratic senator with a modicum of common sense, asks a group of Trump voters to explain why calling people drug-addled unemployable racist misogynistic fascists is not, in fact, the best way to earn their votes. It’s moments like these when Barbara Boxer’s absence from the Democratic caucus would be most felt, I think. Faced with Trump supporters, the former California senator likely would respond with a hysterical and barely coherent monologue involving climate change, immigration, abortion rights, and gun control, all the while oblivious to the fact that these were the very issues that brought Trump to office. At least Boxer has pizzazz. These days the role of the clueless liberal proclaiming her moral supremacy over the déclassé is left to the nondescript, soporific, Dolores Umbridge-like Patty Murray. Here is yet another example of national decline.

“Real people” are what the Democratic Party is sorely missing. By real I do not mean the members of a specific ethnic or religious or cultural or regional group but simply those men and women who are uninterested in the latest trend embraced by the left. For the Democratic Party to win again, it would need to recapture voters in the Midwest and Appalachia who supported Barack Obama twice but felt so disillusioned and dejected by the end of his second term, so utterly unenthused by the bland and corrupt technological illiterate the party nominated to replace him, that they embraced an outsider who promised to upend the system. The Trump era is just beginning, but so far Democrats have been much more willing to retreat into their ideological cubbyholes, or ascribe the election results to (take your pick) James Comey, fake news, or Russian subversion, than to acknowledge the power of nationalism and populism. It’s their loss.

Holocaust Survivor: Leftists Calling Trump “Hitler” Are “Crazy”

“He’s a Nazi!” is the cry. It’s now an all-too-common accusation, hurled at anyone threatening leftist power — and Donald Trump is no exception. But to this a Holocaust survivor takes exception, calling this smear of the president “crazy.”

Anita Dittman’s story of life as a Jewish girl in Nazi Germany, her conversion to Christianity, and time in one of Adolf Hitler’s camps has been told in schools and in her memoir, Trapped in Hitler’s Hell. And while she’s likely far too civil to give hell even to those applying the “Hitler” label recklessly, she did have the following to say about liberals thus characterizing Trump. Writes

“When they say he is another Hitler, they are crazy,” Dittman told WND in a phone interview. “If he was another Hitler, he’d be shooting people that riot, and they wouldn’t have the freedom to riot. If anybody was against things in Nazi times, they would ship them off to the ovens, as we called the camps. There was no freedom.”

The obvious insanity of likening Trump to Hitler was also illuminated by Victor Davis Hanson, a highly respected historian and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. As he told the Blaze, “Hitler’s central ethos was hatred and scapegoating of the Jews, whose logical trajectory was the Holocaust. Trump is in contrast a strong Israel supporter; his daughter is a Jewish convert, three of his grandchildren [are] Jewish. Trump went to the inner city and sought to reach out to minorities.”

Catholics Ask Trump to Probe Soros-Obama-Clinton Conspiracy at Vatican

Did billionaire speculator George Soros, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, and Obama/Clinton adviser John Podesta conspire to overthrow the conservative Pope Benedict XVI and replace him with a radical, Pope Francis? Did they use America’s intelligence agencies, and our nation’s diplomatic machinery, political muscle, and financial power to coerce and blackmail “regime change” in the Roman Catholic Church?

Far from being some wild conspiracy theory, there is sound prima facie evidence to indicate that this is a serious effort to expose a political scandal of the highest order, involving flagrant, criminal abuse of power at the top levels of the U.S. government. A group of respected Catholic lay leaders have sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to launch an official investigation into the activities of the above mentioned individuals (and others) who appear to have been involved in this alleged Vatican coup. They cite eight specific questions they seek to have answered concerning suspect events that led to the resignation of Pope Benedict, the first such papal abdication in 700 years.

“Specifically, we have reason to believe that a Vatican ‘regime change’ was engineered by the Obama administration,” say the petitioners, in their January 20 letter to President Trump. The five signatories to the letter, first published in the Catholic newspaper/weblog, The Remnant, are: Lieutenant Colonel David L. Sonnier, US Army (Retired); Michael J. Matt, editor of The Remnant: Christopher A. Ferrara, author, attorney, and president of the American Catholic Lawyers Association, Inc.; Chris Jackson,; and, Elizabeth Yore, Esq., Founder of YoreChildren.

State Department Ordered to Turn Over 30 Clinton Emails for Review by Federal Court Judge

A federal court ordered the State Department to produce to the court 30 Clinton email-related documents that had been blacked out under various privilege claims. The January 24 order signed by U.S. District Court, District of Columbia Judge James E. Boasberg grants Judicial Watch’s Cross-Motion for Partial Summary Judgment for in camera, non-public review of the documents by January 31 (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State  (No. 1:15-cv-00687)).

Judicial Watch on November 23, 2016, asked the court to reject the State Department’s secrecy claims over the Clinton email documents on the grounds the documents relate to government misconduct.  Judicial Watch argued the agency should release the 30 emails that had been withheld under “deliberative process,” “attorney client,” and “attorney work product” privileges.

Judicial Watch argued that Clinton’s email practices at the State Department constituted misconduct:

The U.S. federal government has produced two State Department Inspector General reports and a report following an FBI investigation, which collectively support the conclusion that, at a minimum, the unofficial server arrangement was misconduct even if it was not a prosecutable violation of criminal law or one that will necessarily result in civil liability.  Secretary Clinton herself has called the unofficial server arrangement a ‘mistake’ …

The State Department’s descriptions of the documents show that the department may have misled the public about the Clinton email scandal:

One week into Trump presidency, DNC chair candidates vow resistance

The candidates running to be the next chair of the Democratic National Committee said Saturday that President Trump’s first week in office drives home the need for the party to regain its footing and join the resistance against the White House.
Democrats are outraged over a series of moves Mr. Trump made this week that put him closer to delivering on controversial campaign promises on the issue of immigration.
“Sign me up for the resistance,” said Peter Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind.
“From what we have seen in the last seven days I think we might be under-reacting,” Mr. Buttigieg said. “He took office and immediately took a jackhammer to the foundation of America’s moral authority and on the seventh day he did not rest. He piled outrage upon outrage. He did not rest and neither can we.”

Trumping Capitalism?

Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 45th president of the United States is widely seen as the beginning of the end of the post-1945 capitalist order that became globally dominant after the Cold War’s end. But is it possible that Trumpism is actually the end of the beginning? Could Trump’s victory mark the end of a period of post-crisis confusion, when the economic model that failed in 2008 was finally recognized as irretrievably broken, and the start of a new phase of global capitalism, when a new approach to economic management gradually evolves?

If history is any guide, the near-collapse of the global financial system in 2008 was always likely to be reflected – after a lag of five years or so – in challenges to existing political institutions and prevailing economic ideology. As I have recently explained – and described in greater detail in my 2010 book Capitalism 4.0– this was the sequence of events that followed previous systemic crises of global capitalism: liberal imperialism followed the 1840s revolutions; Keynesianism followed the Great Depression of the 1930s; and Thatcher-Reagan market fundamentalism followed the Great Inflation of the 1970s. Could Trumpism – understood as a lagged response to the 2008 crisis – herald the emergence of a new capitalist regime?

This question can be divided into three parts: Can Trump’s economic policies work? Will his administration’s economic program be politically sustainable? And what impact might Trumpism have on economic thinking and attitudes to capitalism around the world?

Radical new president stuns Washington, actually does what he said he would do

By winning the election, Donald Trump only started the process of sending official Washington into a hysterical meltdown. Conventional wisdom was that he couldn’t win, and he defied that. But there is an even more ingrained piece of conventional wisdom in Washington, and Trump is now sending the Beltway into convulsions by defying it too.

This conventional wisdom says that candidates can promise whatever they want during the course of a campaign – red meat the base, whatever you want to call it – but once it’s time to govern, the Washington establishment will set the parameters that limit what you can do, and you cannot go outside those parameters.

Mexico border wall
Another element of this conventional wisdom is the presumption that candidates know this, and have no intention once in office of defying it.

Those who assume this will always be the way it works weren’t counting on Donald Trump.

Consider the matter of the Mexico border wall. The money to build it was actually allocated in 2006, but the wall hasn’t been built in the ensuing decade because there’s a general understanding that the political class doesn’t really want the wall. It’s the sort of thing you can talk about at times when it serves your interests politically, but those in the know understand it will never be built.

Donald Trump doesn’t operate like that. We need a wall. The money’s been allocated. He’s given the order to build the wall. There’s going to be a wall.

Or take the matter of the United Nations. Conservatives often complain about the UN and talk about how we should stop funding it, since it’s fundamentally anti-American. But all we ever do is talk, and we keep on sending the checks. This past week, Trump ordered a review of that practice. It’s not yet an order to defund, but it’s farther than any president has ever gone toward possibly cutting off the UN – and the political class is going insane.

Withdrawing from TPP Was a Senseless Act of Wanton Destruction

Earlier today, demonstrating his preference for action over reason, President Trump signed an executive order to officially withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. On the one hand, it’s refreshing to witness the rare act of a politician fulfilling a campaign pledge. On the other hand, there is nothing else good about it. Trump detonated a bomb; six years of negotiations went boom; now what?

To a president who seems intent on turning the country inward, raising the barricades, demanding self-sufficiency, and eschewing the outside world, the TPP was an obvious target. But what’s especially disconcerting is that the president didn’t need to go this far to keep TPP out of play. The agreement couldn’t possibly take effect without congressional passage of implementing legislation, and his signature affixed. He could have just kept TPP on the back-burner in the event that its utility, relevance, or imperative to U.S. economic and geostrategic objectives became evident, as his term progressed. Because it will.

My colleagues and I did a thorough, chapter-by-chapter assessment of the TPP and concluded that, on net, implementation would advance our economic freedoms. But there is also a geostrategic rationale for the TPP that compels beyond the text of the agreement. I presented that case in a few different articles, but here’s an excerpt from the most recent oped, in The Hill:

Energy Efficiency Mandates Are Worse for Poor Americans Than Energy Taxes

When U.S. automakers met with President Donald Trump this week, they asked him to relax the vehicle fuel efficiency standards imposed by his predecessor. Just before Barack Obama left office, the Environmental Protection Agency issued a final determination that its Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) standard of requiring fleet-wide fuel efficiency of 50.8 miles per gallon on new cars by 2025 was achievable. "At every step in the process the analysis has shown that the greenhouse gas emissions standards for cars and light trucks remain affordable and effective through 2025, and will save American drivers billions of dollars at the pump while protecting our health and the environment," said outgoing EPA head Gina McCarthy.

Ratcheting up the mandatory energy efficiency standards for vehicles and appliances was a major part of Obama's effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Department of Energy calculated that the Obama administration's energy efficiency standards would save consumers more than $520 billion on electricity costs by 2030.

But not all consumers are alike. In a new study contrasting the effects on consumers of energy efficiency standards versus energy taxes, the Georgetown economist Arik Levinson notes that both energy efficiency standards and energy taxes function as a regressive tax, taking a larger percentage of a lower income and a smaller percentage of a higher income. His analysis aims to find out which is more regressive—in other words, which is worse for poor Americans.

What Is Trump Doing and What Does He Think He’s Doing?

Hang on, friend. This is going to be a bumpy ride.

President Donald Trump’s first full work week began with action and drama. Trump had planned to assume office with executive orders that showed his commitment to making good on key campaign promises. He delivered.

In his first three days, Trump signed executive orders to peel back Obamacare regulations, expedite environmental reviews for federal infrastructure projects, build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border and withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities. In addition, Trump signed memoranda to withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, approved the Keystone pipeline, froze the hiring of civilian employees, and banned federal aid to international organizations that support or perform abortions. Trump closed the week signing an executive order suspending temporarily the issuance of visas for refugees from seven Muslim-majority countries.

Legal battle begins over Trump executive orders

A federal judge in New York has issued a temporary stay on parts of President Trump's executive order in immigration that halts the deportation of some individuals affected by the ban on refugees from certain countries.

The Hill:

The move appears to mark the first successful legal challenge to the Trump administration and affects those who have arrived in the U.S. with previously approved refugee applications or were in transit with valid visas. Similar rulings were later issued in Virginia, Massachusetts and Washington state.

U.S. District Court Judge Ann Donnelly ruled in favor of a habeas corpus petition filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of two Iraqi men who were detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Friday after Trump signed his order.

Donnelly, who was nominated by former President Barack Obama and confirmed to her judgeship in 2015, ruled in the Eastern District of New York that "there is imminent danger that, absent the stay of removal, there will be substantial and irreparable injury to refugees, visa-holders, and other individuals from nations subject" to Trump's order.

“This ruling preserves the status quo and ensures that people who have been granted permission to be in this country are not illegally removed off U.S. soil," said Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project.

The Media Honestly Doesn’t Get It

In 1968, if you’d railed endlessly about how the United States would never, ever send men to the moon, you would’ve had some crow to eat the following year.
If you made your declarations not in your local pub, but on television and in the newspaper, and if you had bolstered your claim with credentials in the sciences, you’d be having a Thanksgiving dinner’s worth of crow to consume.
And maybe, just maybe, when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin returned, you’d recognize you need to rethink some of the things you had known to be true only a year ago.
Such is the case with the mainstream media and President Trump. Only, unlike someone who’d reflected and reconciled the reality of a moonshot with their worldview going forward, the media still lives in a bubble where it’s the reality that’s wrong.
When Steve Bannon, President Trump’s chief strategist, told the New York Times, “The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States,” it was true.

Largest 10 ‘Sanctuary Cities’ May Lose $2.27 Billion in Federal Funding

New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and other large cities could lose federal funding for housing, education, airport improvements, HIV treatment, and more. “The [funding] numbers do not include federal money for law enforcement, which was excluded in the executive order, and programs like Medicaid, which are administered by state governments,” Reuters states.
One estimate found 300 “sanctuary city” jurisdictions exist where state or local officials refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement officers, and which order cops not to discover arrestees’ immigration status. Nationwide, at least 11 million illegal immigrants live in America’s towns and cities.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order Wednesday instructing Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly to look at all channels of federal funding for sanctuary cities and determine how they can be changed by the administration.
Trump’s actions could shrink local government workforces and indirectly bring some city operations to a grinding halt. The Port of Seattle depends on federal dollars to operate, for example.
In response to the threat of lost funding, Democratic mayors like Rahm Emanuel in Chicago and Bill de Blasio in New York have made make declarations about taking the Trump administration to court.

Millions of dollars in fraud revealed after Clinton Foundation server hacked

Julian Assange has been suggesting that Wikileaks would soon drop a bombshell of files related to Hillary Clinton. Many have been awaiting the highly-anticipated announcement from Assange, who delayed the release of those files. Now, another infamous hacker, who goes by the pseudonym Guccifer 2.0, has released files pertinent to the Clinton Foundation, ahead of Assange.
Guccifer 2.0 was able to penetrate the Clinton Foundation databases, where the hacker uncovered some of the most severe evidence to date regarding the foundation’s corruption. Guccifer 2.0 suggested that many people were growing impatient awaiting the Wikileaks announcement, so the hacker took the matter into his own hands to exploit the data. “Many of you have been waiting for this, some even asked me to do it. So, this is the moment. I hacked the Clinton Foundation server and downloaded hundreds of thousands of docs and donors’ databases,” said Guccifer 2.0. The latest revelations show the Clinton Foundation was committing fraudulent activity, which netted them millions of dollars.
When Obama demanded that congress approve more bailouts between 2009 and 2011, it seemed as if kickbacks were offered to Democratic politicians from the big banks, but through the Clinton Foundation. This included Hillary, who was to ensure that the bailout got approved. Clinton aided the big banks in bribing the Democrat politicians. “Democrats funneled tarp funds back to their PACs! That’s taxpayer bailout money that went right to the pockets of Democrat PACs,” wrote Guccifer 2.0. (RELATED: Find more Hillary Clinton controversies at
Essentially, through a slew of shady deals with the big banks, taxpayer money went straight into the pockets of crooked Democrats. For criminals, Hillary Clinton and her staff don’t try very hard to protect their damning data. It was only a matter of time until hackers would force their way into the Clinton Foundation’s servers. Will the big banks and corporations be penalized for agreeing to donate a percentage of their allocated TARP funds to the Democrats? This is the exact type of corruption and fraud that Donald Trump expressed concerns over, needing urgent corrections in Washington.

Trump argument bolstered: Clinton received 800,000 votes from noncitizens, study finds

Hillary Clinton garnered more than 800,000 votes from noncitizens on Nov. 8, an approximation far short of President Trump’s estimate of up to 5 million illegal voters but supportive of his charges of fraud.
Political scientist Jesse Richman of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, has worked with colleagues to produce groundbreaking research on noncitizen voting, and this week he posted a blog in response to Mr. Trump’s assertion.
Based on national polling by a consortium of universities, a report by Mr. Richman said 6.4 percent of the estimated 20 million adult noncitizens in the U.S. voted in November. He extrapolated that that percentage would have added 834,381 net votes for Mrs. Clinton, who received about 2.8 million more votes than Mr. Trump.
Mr. Richman calculated that Mrs. Clinton would have collected 81 percent of noncitizen votes.
“Is it plausible that non-citizen votes added to Clinton’s margin? Yes,” Mr. Richman wrote. “Is it plausible that non-citizen votes account for the entire nation-wide popular vote margin held by Clinton? Not at all.”

Obama during his presidency and following has been praising his successes while in office.  The claims seem dubious at best.  But what he can claim as successes are his vast expansion of citizens dependent on government and growth of the welfare state .  This item explains.    This provides a slight twist to the entitlement mentality that consumes so many thanks to misguided welfare state policies.

Five leftist companies conservative should either avoid or boycott.    They are the usual suspects, socialist/progressive collaborators.

If you want to see how low the integrity of Democrats has sunk, this piece serves as a good example.

If this is in fact the case not one more dollar of taxpayer money should ever be given to Planned Parenthood.  This charge of child sex trafficking is horrific.  They are already charged with selling baby parts and sending botched abortion patients to the hospital as well as causing patient deaths.  Despite their protestation of their goodness far too much evidence suggests otherwise.    More bad news for the corrupt Planned Parenthood enterprise.  They are liars, in addition to violators of the law.    If you still think it is a good organization this revelation by a former high level employee.  Quote: "Former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson’s book, “The Walls Are Talking: Former Abortion Clinic Workers Tell Their Stories,” contains the testimony of one former clinic worker who saw firsthand how willing her Planned Parenthood facility was to protect a woman’s pimp, even when it was clear the woman was being physically abused." and "Almost without fail, when we saw Diane she would be infected with one STD or another. We knew that she had a pimp. Typically she would have bruises all over her body, sometimes a black eye or a split lip or a gash in her arm. Many of us assumed that these wounds were inflicted by her pimp, or perhaps the culprit was one of her customers. But we never asked…  The clinic’s unofficial position on prostitution was identical to its stance concerning abortion. A woman had the right to choose what she did with her body. Period. End of story. We were trained to think that prostitution or stripping was as valid a choice for a woman as being a nurse or a lawyer. We were there to treat their recurrent STDs, abort their babies, and send them on their way. Never were we to “judge” their lifestyles.”

There has been a bunch of hype emanating from the political left and the mainstream media regarding our intelligence agencies and the CIA telling us the terrible things Russia has done to disrupt our last election is sickening.  They say Trump is a fool for not taking them seriously.  Their holier than thou condescension is an attempt to hide the unsavory things our CIA has been up to ever since the end of WWII.  And, this piece points out to the current CIA director his abject hypocrisy recently displayed with his attack on Trump for saying our CIA is in need of a serious house cleaning.  Rightfully so in my opinion.     Doing this kind of thing is a good reason the CIA needs a good housecleaning.  Famed longtime reporter Bob Woodward says that what the "so called" intelligence paper including all kinds of fake news regarding Trump should never have seen the light of day.

One of the largest problems history will reveal about Obama's reign will be that his own disrespect for the laws of our country influenced a serious erosion of law and order from top to bottom from federal government institutions to misfits across society.  Two key actors enabling Obama's own disrespect for the law were his appointed Attorney Generals, Holder and Lynch, neither of which seemed to hold the nation's laws in high regard.

Perpetrated by fake media hype this piece helps illustrate just how off the reservation so many of the left have traveled.  Quote: "So completely captured by the bamboozle, once-reputable news outlets eagerly publish fake news if they think it will hurt Trump.  The same news organizations have, for ten years, refused to publish anything, even the obvious truth,  that might reflect poorly on Obama.  That is how the bamboozle works."

This item claims that the mainstream media is losing its grip on its ability to produce and control its fake news machine.

This study seriously undermines the political left elitists unabashed support for the LBGT, especially gays, lifestyles as being just as healthy as heterosexuals. Quote: "A recent (and first of its kind) study verifies again what many Christians have long warned about the homosexual lifestyle.  Published in August of 2016 by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the study – "Sexual Identity, Sex of Sexual Contacts, and Health Related Behaviors Among Students in Grades 9-12" – looked at a wide variety of risky behaviors among U.S. high school students."

An elected official and a media type conjure up a crazy conspiracy theory.   People like these two actually believe they are serious thinkers.

This is no time to sit on your hands 2

After the above items this one takes more of a positive turn.  Quote: "This is not a time for blue-ribbon panels or ten-year projections or hand wringing from the usual suspects about how hard change is. We needed a force of nature, a nuclear reactor of change energy that will upset countless apple carts and raise countless eyebrows. And we got it. Trump sees issues as a negotiation. He opens with a position that may seem absurd, then dials it back, seeming more reasonable and measured in the process, pleased to reach what looks like a compromise but was really what he wanted all along. If that seems like a haphazard way to govern, it is worth reviewing whether any other way has been worth a flip for the last few decades.  So here it is. Real change. Bringing with it real nervousness, real opposition, even real hysteria from some. But if President Donald Trump can surprise us in office as thoroughly as he did on the way to that office, the future may hold something that has become a ridiculed concept hijacked in the bombast of the era of Obama: real hope."

This is an interesting discussion of the rise of leftist dysfunction. The losses suffered in the election are consequencial.  Quote: "Not a single person -- more than 60 million fellow citizens -- can be forgiven or excused for casting a ballot for Donald Trump. Each and every one of them (including millions of racial minorities, it must be said) did so for unacceptable reasons, rendering them unworthy of empathy.  Ironically, this is precisely the sort of "dehumanization" leftists constantly and often hysterically lament; a right-wing phenomenon they perceive around every corner.  But this is different, you see, because shut up.  When Hillary Clinton attacked "half" of Trump's backers as "deplorable," millions of people rightly objected. She retreated.  Now faced with a crushing political loss, some of the Left's worst offenders have taken to lashing out in an even nastier clumsier manner, apparently determined to step up their demeaning slanders against tens of millions of Americans. This attitude has already backfired on them, but they're doubling down. Perhaps because they've forgotten how to argue in good faith.  Or perhaps because they never learned in the first place."

After reading the above this item exposes the truth regarding "oh so concerned liberals, progressives and Democrats".   She is the kind of person the progressive/liberal left admire.   Secret Service is investigating Madonna.   Here is another one.   One more.     Lastly, consider this.   Such a shame the sorry excuses the icons the political left hold in high regard.  Dishonesty and destruction are words that fit so many of their words and deeds.  The irony is that what they attribute to those who oppose them is exactly what they are and do.

The left claims they own the high ground of moral superiority in most things, including in this case the claim total absence of any racist proclivities whatever.  The lack of decency, honesty and extreme hypocrisy belies their self righteous claims.   Another view of this so called "icon".

But, the fact is as this item suggests they are the party of "Hate That Hates Hate".  Quote: "Liberals find themselves supporting violent criminals and Communists because, in the partisan political calculus of the Democrat Party, all Republicans are presumed to be guilty of “hate.” The anti-Trump media ignore any evidence that contradicts this claim, so that Madonna’s fantasies of blowing up the White House and the insane rage of inauguration protesters are not viewed as dangerous. Instead, allegedly objective journalists like NBC’s Chuck Todd denounce Trump as “surprisingly divisive.” This description of the president’s inaugural address made no sense to anyone outside the Beltway media bubble. Trump’s speech actually expressed a non-partisan spirit: “What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.”

What a difference!!!  Obama's presidency was always about Obama.  Trump's first speech as President was all about "We the people".

This item provides insight into a book written by a veteran reporter and author which that unless we do something and soon the problems Europe is facing will start happening here.

The political left has long sponsored civil unrest/anarchy for political purposes.  This item provides a brief summary. Quote: "Opponents of President-elect Donald Trump's have accused him of "inspiring violence" and bringing out the worst in people. Wrong. The active and passive sponsors of left-wing political mayhem are the ones guilty of enabling it over the past quarter-century. Restoring peace and justice starts with restoring law and order. Either you're against the rule of the mob or you're with it."

This is a logical follow-on to the previous item.  The left can be expected to disrupt normal life for most of us for at least the next four years.  Quote: "Normalcy. It’s what we want, and liberals want to deny it to us in order to doom Donald Trump and reopen their path back into power.  So how will they do it? Constant resistance at every turn. They will ignore norms and rules – remember, norms and rules are only supposed to constrain us. They will lie, cheat, and engage in any conduct that they believe will help their hateful cause. A huge part of the progressive effort will go toward policing their own for any weakness or faltering in their lockstep opposition to everything Trump and the GOP do. Take that, Springsteen cover band! How dare you perform the Boss’s hackneyed anthems for the president? The good thing is we will get to watch four to eight years of the left devouring itself. I’m already stockpiling the popcorn."

This is a good assessment of the massive failures of following progressive policies.  It is a warning to us all that we must reject the delusions they espouse, propaganda they spew, hateful mantras they chant and unsavory actions they take.
These are the type leaders the political left lauds.  People who bash Republicans and extol the wonders of socialism and communism.  That is where they want to take us.  Why else do you think their language is used to belittle, impugn, degrade Republicans and conservatives in general and Trump in specific?  They can see his cabinet members and publically stated policies are far superior to Obama's surpass anything Hillary would/could do.  They see that his performance even before taking office makes Obama look terribly inept.  They don't like that so they are doing everything possible to publically run him down.  Meanwhile they fondly recall the wondrous Obama reign.  The fact is that their own political interests trump those of the county.  They cannot stand Trump's promises to reduce government oppression of the people at every turn.

This item discusses the nefarious activities the vastly wealthy Rockefeller family and their consequential results/implications, especially in the area of climate change.  Quote: "As the man-made global-warming theory implodes amid decades with no warming, and the theory's backers are left with egg all over their faces, it is time for Americans and perhaps even Congress to take a more serious look at the Rockefeller machine. In addition to the “climate” scam, the Rockefellers have bankrolled everything from racist eugenics and abortion to the deliberate dumbing down of the American people via so-called “education.” It is time for the light to be shined on their machinations."

This is no time to sit on your hands 1

This is a look back a few months in time but remains relevant given the exposure of so much about the incessant production of fake news. Past items have shared information of corruption and outright criminal intent on the part of elitists across the realms of the political, academic, crony capitalist and mainstream media elite.  A continuing stream of leaked documents is confirming many of the disturbing comments previously shared.  I urge you to check things for yourselves. Do not take my word for it.  Please take the initiative to share what you learn with others.  Here is a quote and link to an article which serves as a call to action:  "If you're not following the flurry of email dumps now being released every 24 hours by Wikileaks, you're missing out on the most damning revelations of systemic government corruption in the history of this nation. The emails reveal unprecedented criminal collusion between the State Dept., the Clinton Foundation, the Obama White House, the FBI, the DNC, the leftist media and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. In essence, they are all conspiring to rig everything: Town hall questions are rigged, debate questions are rigged, the polls are rigged, the news coverage is rigged, the justice system is rigged and no doubt the election itself is going to be rigged (stolen) in order to make sure Hillary Clinton wins. The entire mainstream media, it turns out, is nothing but a collection of presstitutes pretending to be journalists. In reality, they are all Clinton operatives who operate with eerie similarity to obedient Nazi party propaganda pushers."  This IS NOT propaganda from conservative sources.  The leaked documents contain their own words as to what they think and what they are up to.  It is nothing short of an attempt to take over our country at the voting booth.  Don't take my word for it. Please check this out for yourself.  The below link contains further links you can use to search content of the leaked incriminating email for yourself.  The mainstream media will not aggressively report the truth because they are part of the problem.  I assure you I am not crazy.  This is something that has been developing for a number of years.

A most interesting, yet scary, assessment. Straight talk.  Quote: "In America today, instead of engaging in the peaceful participation of ideation and the vigorous contemplation and debate of ideology, we are experiencing the descent into tribal warfare, identity politics, ad hominem attacks, lawlessness, anarchy, and chaos.  At this moment in history, words are once again being replaced with bricks, rocks, hammers, colored flags and fire.  Unless the current trajectory changes, these will soon give way to bullets and bombs. American patriots might soon replace their MAGA hats with makeshift helmets and battle armor to wage all-out war against left-wing nihilists and a heavily armed Deep State in a Second American Civil War that is currently underway. History rhymes and the past has already foretold of the forthcoming chaotic times. Just like in a garden of seeds, weeds, and flowers; the passing of time will produce a yield from the same elements that have always been.  Just like the Revolutionary War, except today, it is the political establishment and global financial elite, acting as an entitled monarchy.  Just like the First American Civil War, but instead of North versus South, it is now “urban” versus “rural” and lawless anarchists challenging those with Common Sense and decency. And, just like Germany during the 1930s, except today, the leftist Brownshirts have chosen to wear black instead."

This judge excoriates Obama and his DOJ attorneys for the lies and deceptions they delivered during deliberations in his court room.  Read to see what he did and why.

This deals with the delusions that consume the political left. Quote: "The overarching issue is that we are watching the progressive left continue to wrap themselves in their own delusion. This past weekend there were marches focused on women’s rights. Where were those voices when Christian and Yazidi girls were being raped and sold as sex slaves by ISIS – that group Obama called the JV team, which was not Islamic. If this is about misogyny, where were those voices reference Bill Clinton regularly being welcomed as an “elder statesman” of the Democrat party?  More violence, threats, intimidation, rantings, protests, denigrating, disparaging, and demeaning language from the left will not win folks over to their cause. It will only further distance them from the America that has rejected and repudiated them, the electoral losses of the past eight years is evidence.  The delusion of the progressive left is that they are not conducting a self-analysis or assessment. Their way did not advance economic growth or national security. Albert Einstein said, “The definition of insanity is to continue to do the same thing, and expect different results”. Einstein’s definition certainly befits the grand delusion of the progressive left."

Very, very interesting piece by Doug Casey, a libertarian thinker, writer, speculator, and founder and chairman of Casey Research.  Quote: "Greater Depression has started. Most people don’t know it because they can neither confront the thought nor understand the differences between this one and the last.  As a climax approaches, many of the things that you’ve built your life around in the past are going to change and change radically. The ability to adjust to new conditions is the sign of a psychologically healthy person.  Look for the opportunity side of the crisis. The Chinese symbol for “crisis” is a combination of two other symbols—one for danger and one for opportunity.  The dangers that society will face in the years ahead are regrettable, but there’s no point in allowing anxiety, frustration, or apathy to overcome you. Face the future with courage, curiosity, and optimism rather than fear. You can be a winner, and if you plan carefully, you will be. The great period of change will give you a chance to regain control of your destiny. And that in itself is the single most important thing in life. This depression can give you that opportunity; it’s one of the many ways the Greater Depression can be a very good thing for both you as an individual and society as a whole."

This item assesses the state of the political left/progressives.  According to this thoughtful and articulate black writer to improve our nation's future prospects will take time and a lot of work.  Quote: "In short, the left is terrified that, like Obama, Trump is going to do as he pleases as president, only in his case it will be to the benefit of America rather than to her detriment. This has made them even more desperate and careless in their speech, and the farther left they are along the political continuum, the more desperate and careless their speech is proving to be. Spinning bizarre and fanciful calumnies and making petulant demands for conciliation when they are at a political disadvantage (nothing new; they’re just doing more of it at present) illustrate their present distraction."  And, "The left’s deportment over the last few weeks serve to reinforce what I’ve maintained for some time, and what I will continue to articulate: Dedicated progressives are a vile breed, whatever letters they happen to have in parentheses after their names. They are patient and well-entrenched, however, so stamping out their influence is going to be a job bigger than any president. In a very real sense, our work is just beginning."

We already knew this but it is good that they now know too.  So, when will the mainstream media stop the misleading and outright lies and start telling the truth about the problems plaguing the troubled Democrat party?  And more importantly when will they start telling the truth about the efforts Trump is undertaking to improve American lives?   And, when will they stop trying to interfere with his agenda?   To say many of today's journalists propagate fake news is not news.  It is fact.  This piece from a long time investigative journalists talks to his peers and in private they tell him what they don't to you and I.  Read his comments derived from mainstream media reporters.

The Collapse of the Left

The Left is not just in disarray--it is in complete collapse because the working class has awakened to the Left's betrayal and abandonment of the working class in favor of building personal wealth and power.
The source of the angry angst rippling through the Democratic Party's progressive camp is not President Trump--it's the complete collapse of the Left globally. To understand this collapse, we turn (once again) to Marx's profound understanding of the state and capitalism.
We turn not to the cultural Marxism that is passingly familiar to Americans, but to Marx's core economic analysis, which as Sartre noted, is only taught to discredit it.
Cultural Marxism draws as much from Engels as Marx. In today's use, cultural Marxism describes the overt erosion of traditional values--the family, community, religious faith, property rights and limited central government--in favor of rootless Cosmopolitanism and an expansive, all-powerful central state that replaces community, faith and property rights with statist control mechanisms that enforce dependence on the state and a mindset that the individual is guilty of anti-state thinking until proven innocent by the state's own rules.
Marx's critique of capitalism is economic: capital and labor are in eternal conflict. In Marx's analysis, capital has the upper hand until the internal contradictions of capitalism consume capital's control from the inside.

Trump Signs Executive Orders to Build Border Wall and Strengthen Immigration Enforcement

During a ceremony at the Department of Homeland Security on January 25 honoring the department’s newly confirmed secretary, retired Gen. John Kelly, President Trump signed an executive order to begin construction of a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico, and to improve immigration enforcement, which includes ending the “catch and release” policy practiced by the Obama administration. Under “catch and release,” illegal border crossers are issued a “notice to appear” and released instead of being detained and processed for deportation.
A “Notice to Appear” is basically a summons issued to an illegal alien who is released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear before an immigration court at a future date. A large number of those issued such a notice fail to show up for the hearings.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that the first order signed by Trump calls for the construction of “a large physical barrier on the southern border.” “Building a barrier is more than just a campaign promise, it’s common sense, the first step to really securing our porous border,” Spicer told reporters Wednesday. “Federal agencies are going to unapologetically enforce the law — no ifs, ands or buts.”

Most Mexico-Bound Cash Remittances Sent by Undocumented Workers

Most of the billions of dollars in cash sent to Mexico by Mexicans living in the U.S. is transferred by “undocumented” workers, and the total was expected to top $26 billion in 2016, according to research by the Washington institute Inter-American Dialogue.
Mexico is the fourth largest recipient of all cash transfers – known as remittances – worldwide, according to the Congressional Research Service.
A survey by Inter-American Dialogue of remittances to Mexico found that a majority, 67 percent in 2013, were sent by “undocumented” individuals living in the U.S.
Of all of the remittances sent to 11 countries in Latin America from the U.S. in 2015, Mexico received the largest share by far at 36 percent – four times more than the closest competitor, Guatemala, at 9 percent, the survey found.
“Remittances to Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which exceeded US$70 billion dollars in 2015, are playing a key role in the region's economic development,” according to the institute’s 2016 “Remittances scorecard.”
The majority of remittances to Mexico, 88.2 percent, are sent using the services of companies like MoneyGram and Western Union, the institute found.
It said the cash transfer industry has “expanded dramatically,” and now helps migrants in the U.S. pay their bills in Latin America.
But while services have expanded, the cost of sending money to Latin America and the Caribbean has dropped to below 5 percent of the transfer amount.

The Trump administration has frozen Obama’s quiet attempt to send $221 million to Palestine

The State Department is reviewing a last-minute decision by former Secretary of State John Kerry to send $221 million dollars to the Palestinians late last week over the objections of congressional Republicans.
The department said Tuesday it would look at the payment, one of the Obama administration's final acts in office, and might make adjustments to ensure it comports with the Trump administration's priorities.
Kerry formally notified Congress that State would release the money Friday morning, just hours before President Donald Trump's inauguration.
"I was tracking President Obama's 11th-hour moves on the Palestinians, and this issue never came up once ... Most analysts and observers didn't think Obama would or could do this," Dr. Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies told Business Insider.
Congress had initially approved the Palestinian funding in budget years 2015 and 2016, with the US Agency for International Development sending the Palestinians $355 million in 2015.
But at least two GOP lawmakers Ed Royce of California, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Kay Granger of Texas, who sits on the House Appropriations Committee had placed holds on the funds as the Palestinian Authority had pursued "a unilateral tract towards statehood and they were not trying to work with Israel," said Schanzer.

President Trump Unveils Plans to Undo Much of Obama's Damage

After quoting the Bible in a call for national unity, acknowledging God the Creator, blasting the establishment, and vowing to put “America First” in his inaugural address, President Donald Trump is reportedly ready to unleash a torrent of executive orders and actions. At the top of the agenda, administration officials say, is reversing some of the damage inflicted by former President Barack Obama with his infamous “pen and phone.” Among the first targets are Obama's illegal “climate” schemes and his radical power grab purporting to regulate virtually all waters across the United States. Also in the cross-hairs are pseudo-“free trade” regimes such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). ObamaCare is also on the chopping block. And the border will be brought back under control, the White House said. How much of Obama's largely unconstitutional “legacy” will be undone, and how quickly, remains to be seen.

Immediately following his inauguration, Trump got straight to work on his first official acts as president. Among other duties, he signed a law passed by Congress to grant retired General James Mattis a waiver to legally serve as Trump's secretary of defense, required by law because the Marine was still in military service less than seven years ago. Trump also signed documents making his cabinet picks official, joking that he assumed Secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson had been confirmed today. And finally, Trump signed a document proclaiming a new “National Day of Patriotism.” The document was not yet available on the White House website by press time. Trump, smiling as he signed away, was surrounded by family, congressional leaders from both parties, and others, as attendees joked about who should get which pen that Trump used in his first official acts.

Hating America Through Anti-Trump Movement

Tools. Mindless and obedient automatons.  Those are the most accurate words that come to mind when it comes to the foaming-at-the-mouth liberal left hysteria movement following the election and inauguration of President Donald J. Trump. The liberal left loons believe the ridiculous and obviously erroneous propaganda being spouted by the liberal media, Democrat politicians, and completely out-of-their-mind entertainment lefties, and like good little minions the Hillary Clinton supporting screaming-heads are acting out in a violent and vulgar manner against the election and inauguration of President Donald J. Trump. In truth, they remind me more of petulant children who didn’t get their way because a knowing parent who understands the folly of their demands decided otherwise, than they do of anyone with any common sense or common decency.

My son, after attending a film at the local mall in Temecula, California, last night, came home to tell me about the twenty-somethings running around with desecrated America flags (shredded and torn) in the space between the mall and the movie theater shouting profanities about Trump, and anyone who supports his couple-days-old presidency.  Fresh out of high school, or likely in college, these children refuse to do their own research and instead have taken the hysterical leftist teachings of their educators to heart.  Through media and the entertainment industry, they have been taught to be angry, and to lash out when they don’t get their way.  So, like hypnotized lackeys, they are out there making fools of themselves with their idiotic, and immature, rants and failed attempts at Saul Alinsky-style agitation.  A lifetime of indoctrination by a leftist educational system has done its damage.  Recent polls show the younger millennials leaning towards supporting communism, even though they really don’t understand what the Marxist philosophies are really all about, and have no clue about the massive failure, and murderous atrocities, of Marxism not only in the Soviet Union, Cuba and Venezuela, but in places where the media has been more successful in hiding or glossing over the truth such as China, southeast Asia, and Central America.

The moronic and mindless temper tantrums are not only being seen committed by members of the younger generation who, fortunately, does not represent everyone in their age group, but also among the remainder of the liberal left progressive socialist commie bastard community.

Hope & Change Comes Eight Years Into the Obama Presidency

Barack Obama finally delivers on his message of hope and change on this, the last day of his presidency. Don’t accuse the man of not fulfilling this ubiquitous, and amorphous, campaign pledge.

He didn’t stop the rise of the oceans or heal the planet. But he did give America Donald Trump. And in his final days, he behaves a bit like his successor. Kinda. Sorta.

The president graciously refers to Trump as “freely elected.” But his chief of staff, Denis McDonough, declined to say whether Obama considers his successor “legitimate” after CNN’s Jake Tapper gave him several opportunities. Forty-four plans to attend 45’s inauguration. But he offered “no comment” regarding the dozens of congressional Democrats skipping the festivities.

After years of enduring “Kenyan-born” as a prefix to his name, Obama, one might guess, should eagerly eschew attempts to kneecap the incoming president’s legitimacy. But more interested in payback than principle, the small-souled bigshot instead plays the game, albeit passive-aggressively, that his antagonists played with him. He didn’t grow in office. He shrank.

The president finally got tough on immigration in one of his parting shots as president.

“Effective immediately, Cuban nationals who attempt to enter the United States illegally and do not qualify for humanitarian relief will be subject to removal, consistent with U.S. law and enforcement priorities,” Obama announced last week. “By taking this step, we are treating Cuban migrants the same way we treat migrants from other countries.”

Like Mexico?

The conspiracy to impeach Trump already launched

It should be crystal clear to all Americans that his political enemies are searching for any pretext to launch an impeachment effort to unseat President Trump, once they think it would have a chance of success.   Given the level of animosity toward Trump in his own party, and the possibility of midterm election losses for the president’s party (the normal pattern in American politics), these efforts can’t be dismissed as impossible.

We know about this secret conspiracy because of a leak to the Washington Free Beacon.  Joe Schoffstall reports:

A confidential David Brock memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon lays out the ways the Democratic operative plans to use his numerous organizations to take down President Donald Trump through impeachment.

Brock is currently at the Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, Fla. for a weekend conference with more than 100 major liberal donors. Attendees are mapping out a course to combat the newly sworn-in president.

According to the private and confidential memo, Brock plans to defeat Trump “through impeachment,” using American Bridge, his liberal super PAC, as the main vehicle to do so.

“No other progressive organization has the resources and assets that American Bridge has amassed over the past several election cycles to hold Trump, his administration, and the politicians accountable,” the 44-page confidential memo states.

“Only Bridge stands ready with staff already hired, Trump’s web of business ties mapped out, and a massive video archive at our fingertips.”

“The right will bolster Trump aggressively and deceptively. The campaign to stop him must be nonstop. At American Bridge, it has already begun.”

Jesse Jackson: Trump's inauguration speech was 'full of hope and inclusion'

Not long after President Donald Trump was sworn in, we happened to run into the Rev. Jesse Jackson on the street. He gave a thumbs-up to Trump’s inauguration speech but said the new commander in chief has much work to do in order to unify a nation riven by a divisive campaign.
“The speech was full of hope and inclusion and he reached out to cities in a way they’ve not been reached out to for a long time,” he said. “But with that must come a target, a timetable and a budget.”
Trump’s speech hit many of the populist chords he refined on the campaign trail, portraying Washington as full of elite insiders indifferent to the common man.

“That all changes, starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you,” he said, before ticking off goals: “We will build new roads, and highways, and bridges, and airports, and tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation. We will get our people off of welfare and back to work, rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor. We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and hire American.”

Trump’s Lies Pale Before Those Of Obama According To Some Analysts

There are some misguided fools in this country who will look you straight in the face and tell you that Donald Trump is a liar …. a chronic liar ….. but when the tacks are finally all posted to the bulletin board of reality I have to remind everyone who has the common sense to form a real thought rather than to parrot talking points that there is plenty of reason to be concerned about the same ( or a similar claim) about the now departed CEO of America …. Obama.
Here is one such source for anyone who has the ability to read beyond the 4th Grade level — (HERE).
Yes, I left a link —- it is that bluish purple thing that looks like the word, “Here” in parenthesis about half a paragraph ago.  If you are going to learn anything from reading this blog you are going to have to have the common intelligence to actually read the links I leave and to take the time to think about what I am saying before your preconceived notions become activated and you harden your hearts and close your locked-in-thinking minds — and this is especially true if you happen to be among that pitifully mentally inadequate group I often refer to as “Radical Left Wing Liberals” or “Quasi-Socialists.”
I know that all politicians lie from time to time but it is my opinion that “The One” who just vacated the office of President probably holds some kind of record for fudging on almost everything except perhaps for his promise to “Fundamentally Transform America” which I think he accomplished fairly well.

Billionaire George Soros has ties to more than 50 ‘partners’ of the Women’s March on Washington

In the pre-dawn darkness of today’s presidential inauguration day, I faced a choice, as a lifelong liberal feminist who voted for Donald Trump for president: lace up my pink Nike sneakers to step forward and take the DC Metro into the nation’s capital for the inauguration of America’s new president, or wait and go tomorrow to the after-party, dubbed the “Women’s March on Washington”?
The Guardian has touted the “Women’s March on Washington” as a “spontaneous” action for women’s rights. Another liberal media outlet, Vox, talks about the “huge, spontaneous groundswell” behind the march. On its website, organizers of the march are promoting their work as “a grassroots effort” with “independent” organizers. Even my local yoga studio, Beloved Yoga, is renting a bus and offering seats for $35. The march’s manifesto says magnificently, “The Rise of the Woman = The Rise of the Nation.”
It’s an idea that I, a liberal feminist, would embrace. But I know — and most of America knows — that the organizers of the march haven’t put into their manifesto: the march really isn’t a “women’s march.” It’s a march for women who are anti-Trump.
As someone who voted for Trump, I don’t feel welcome, nor do many other women who reject the liberal identity-politics that is the core underpinnings of the march, so far, making white women feel unwelcomenixing women who oppose abortion and hijacking the agenda
To understand the march better, I stayed up through the nights this week, studying the funding, politics and talking points of the some 403 groups that are “partners” of the march. Is this a non-partisan “Women’s March”?
