The Old Game Continues Among the Worst GOP Senators

We now know that our nation will receive a large disappointment for Christmas. This disappointment includes character attacks and scandals related to Donald Trump’s choices for presidential appointees, along with self-righteous comments from certain members of the Senate GOP who support the biased media and the Democratic Party. What we are truly facing is the continuation of the old political games, and the public is tired of it.

This situation began with Matt Gaetz, the first choice for attorney general in the upcoming Trump administration. Gaetz could not secure enough support from Senate Republicans for his confirmation, leading to his departure from consideration. The president-elect then nominated Pam Bondi, the former Attorney General of Florida, known for her qualifications, which should allow her confirmation to pass smoothly. However, her past handling of the Trayvon Martin case may lead to criticism, although it seems unlikely that Senate Republicans will address this issue. Instead, others are likely to face negativity from the media while the inept Republican leaders continue to show they do not align with the public's interests.

Joni Ernst, one of Iowa's senators, has not been a beacon for discussing anyone's personal conduct, especially given her own past struggles which have come to light. It recalls a significant political event from July 1, 1987, when President Ronald Reagan nominated Judge Robert Bork for the Supreme Court, which resulted in harsh opposition. More recently, Judge Brett Kavanaugh faced a challenging confirmation fight, but ultimately his resilience helped him succeed. Conservatives often struggle to respond quickly to attacks from the left, and only a few media outlets have supported certain nominated candidates.

Conservatives need to rally together to support their nominees and clarify their commitment to fighting for the president’s choices moving forward. This support is crucial for success in upcoming political battles.
