Foreign Adversary ‘Likely’ Responsible For Havana Syndrome, Whistleblower Accuses CIA of ‘Coverup,’ ‘Gaslighting’

A former Intelligence officer has accused the CIA of misleading victims of Havana Syndrome, a debilitating health condition reported by U. S. personnel since 2016. In an interview with journalist Catherine Herridge, the whistleblower, identified as "Alice," claimed her career-ending injuries were caused by a foreign directed energy weapon and expressed concern that the CIA is covering up the truth regarding the syndrome.

The House Intelligence Committee's recent report implies that a foreign adversary is likely behind some cases of Havana Syndrome, contradicting previous conclusions from the Intelligence Community and the U. S. Senate, which downplayed foreign involvement, suggesting that the cause is more likely to be natural or psychological. Despite these conclusions, many victims believe they were targeted by high-power microwave weapons.

Alice shared her own experience of a health incident while serving in Africa, describing strange sounds and severe symptoms that led to her diagnosis of traumatic brain injury. She feels the CIA's dismissal of such experiences is a betrayal and has created a demoralizing environment for agents. She also spoke about the impact of the CIA's actions on her personal life, stating that she has witnessed colleagues suffer and lose their battles against health issues linked to their service.

A leaked government letter acknowledges that the injuries experienced are real, countering claims that they result from psychosocial factors. Alice suspects that Russia is behind the attacks and criticized the CIA's response as inadequate, claiming that their official assessment does not meet basic standards of investigation. She called for the agency to acknowledge the reality of these incidents to protect other agents in the future.

Alice expressed hope for accountability and change within the CIA, urging the Trump administration to overhaul the intelligence analysts responsible for the flawed reports. She emphasized the need for responsible acknowledgment of experienced injuries to continue effective operations and prevent further harm to personnel in the field.
