Biden Furious at Merrick Garland Because He Didn’t Work Harder to Lock Up Donald Trump Before the Election

President Biden is upset with Attorney General Merrick Garland for not doing more to prosecute Donald Trump before the election. Biden reportedly feels regret over stepping back from the 2024 presidential race, believing he could have defeated Trump. He also questions his decision to appoint Garland, feeling that the Justice Department took too long in prosecuting Trump while aggressively pursuing investigations into his son, Hunter Biden.

Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate Trump shortly after he announced his candidacy for the 2024 election. In June 2023, Trump faced 37 federal counts related to storing presidential records, and in September 2023, he was charged in connection with the January 6 events, including various conspiracy-related counts. However, these cases weakened after a Supreme Court ruling granted immunity to U. S. Presidents for acts performed while in office.

Biden is frustrated that Garland did not act quickly enough against Trump, believing that if the Justice Department had pursued charges sooner, it might have led to a politically harmful trial for Trump before the election. Some Democrats share this view, while others blame delays on the Supreme Court and a judge appointed by Trump. Garland's delay in prosecuting Trump and the urgency of prosecuting Hunter Biden have led to Biden's discontent with the Justice Department's actions.

Mike Davis, a former clerk for Justice Neil Gorsuch, has called for Trump’s upcoming administration to investigate what he perceives as the Justice Department's misuse of power against Trump, describing the conspiracy against rights charge as serious. He claims that Biden's team has admitted to engaging in legal and electoral interference against Trump.

Biden's private comments regarding his dissatisfaction with Garland and the Justice Department’s performance highlight growing concerns over political fairness and justice in the current political climate. The narrative suggests that fast action against Trump might have altered the political landscape leading up to the election, showcasing the complex and often contentious relationship between the DOJ and political figures.
