District Judge Mark Scarsi criticized President Joe Biden after he pardoned his son, Hunter Biden. Scarsi, who handled Hunter's tax case, stated that the pardon does not change the facts of the case or rewrite history. Biden issued a broad pardon covering any crimes his son committed in the last decade, claiming Hunter was unfairly prosecuted.
Biden argued that people can only conclude Hunter was targeted because he is his son, which was wrong. However, Scarsi disagreed, mentioning that two federal judges had already rejected Biden's claims regarding the prosecution being influenced by family connections. He highlighted that while the Constitution allows the President to grant pardons, it does not permit him to alter history.
Hunter Biden had pleaded guilty to federal tax charges and was convicted of illegally possessing a gun. Sentencing for both cases is scheduled in December.
