Joe Biden did not just pardon Hunter: he pardoned himself.

Joe Biden recently pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for any crimes he may have committed from January 2014 to December 1, 2024, which has raised many questions. This pardon, considered unprecedented in scope, seems to protect both Hunter and Joe from legal repercussions stemming from their alleged misuse of political connections for financial gain. The timing of the pardon coincides with Hunter’s involvement in activities such as joining the board of the Ukrainian company Burisma and receiving significant payments from foreign oligarchs.

Biden's reasoning for the pardon, claiming to protect Hunter from legal charges related to a gun form and unpaid taxes, is questioned due to the broad range of crimes covered by the pardon. The incidents involving Hunter's gun application and tax issues occurred years ago, making the choice of the start date for the pardon suspicious. Critics argue that Joe Biden's actions shield himself rather than solely focusing on his son's well-being.

Although some supporters claim that this pardon was an act of love, the text argues that using his son as a front for influence peddling while exploiting foreign connections is abusive rather than caring. The narrative suggests that Joe Biden has a history of manipulating family and personal tragedies for political gain, which continues with this pardoning decision.

Throughout his presidency, Joe Biden has denied involvement in Hunter’s business dealings and has previously stated he would not pardon him. However, just days before Hunter's sentencing, he issued the pardon, contradicting his earlier promises. Critics highlight that Joe Biden’s administration has been marked by corruption linked to his family.

The Constitution does grant presidents the power to pardon, but critics stress that this authority should not be used to cover up corrupt actions. The implications of this pardon extend beyond Hunter, suggesting that other members of the Biden family could also be implicated in corruption involving foreign money. In light of these issues, speculation arises that Joe Biden might consider pardoning himself as his presidency comes to an end.
