The Media Research Center (MRC) is dedicated to exposing falsehoods and censorship in news and entertainment media, as well as Big Tech, to protect America's founding principles and Judeo-Christian values. The MRC operates as a tax-deductible research and education organization.
A recent analysis of major news networks found that ABC, NBC, and CBS provided minimal coverage of the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington, D. C. Combined, the networks only covered the event for 48 seconds, with several programs failing to acknowledge the rally at all. NBC Nightly News did not cover the event, a slight improvement from the previous year when it not only ignored the March for Life but also promoted pro-abortion advocates.
CBS Evening News aired only 21 seconds about the rally while ABC World News Tonight's coverage lasted 27 seconds. Both broadcasts mentioned President Trump's video address to the crowd and Vice President JD Vance's in-person speech but omitted important context about the political atmosphere surrounding the event.
The MRC highlighted discrepancies in coverage compared to how the Biden Administration treated anti-abortion protests, noting harsher sentences imposed on some protesters.
Transcripts from the January 24 broadcasts reveal how both ABC and CBS reported on the March for Life. David Muir from ABC mentioned the impact of Trump’s pardons for activists while Nancy Cordes from CBS focused on the number of attendees and Trump's participation without deeper exploration of the events surrounding the rally.
