Trump’s Executive Orders On Immigration Prove Biden Could Have Secured The Border At Any Time

Chaos at the southern border and mass illegal immigration were outcomes that the Biden administration chose intentionally. The Trump administration, shortly after taking office, signed executive orders that could have secured the border, demonstrating that the Biden administration had options to control the situation without new legislation. Instead, Biden and the Democrats appeared to favor mass illegal immigration, chaos, and the empowerment of drug cartels.

Trump declared an emergency at the border, ordered the military to resume construction of the border wall, which Biden had halted, and deployed U. S. troops to the U. S. -Mexico border. His emergency measures aimed to address unlawful mass migration, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. Trump also ended the CBP One app used by Biden for mass paroles of illegal border crossers, affecting around 30,000 a month. Biden's use of this app to grant paroles was unprecedented and contributed to a mass catch-and-release policy.

Additionally, Trump reinstated the Remain in Mexico policy, which required individuals crossing illegally and claiming asylum to wait in Mexico for their hearings. This policy effectively deterred bogus asylum claims and reduced illegal immigration by removing the incentive for migrants to enter the U. S. freely while waiting for outcomes.

Moreover, Trump designated Mexican criminal cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations to enable federal authorities to target their operations and assets more effectively. This included the possibility of cross-border raids and military operations against these cartels, emphasizing a tougher stance on crime on both sides of the border.

The Biden administration had the choice to continue the successful border policies from Trump’s term, which had brought illegal immigration down to record lows. However, Biden, according to figures like Tom Homan, actively reversed these measures, leading to the current crisis. Mayorkas, the DHS secretary, openly admitted to how many Trump-era policies the Biden administration had rescinded, indicating a systematic destruction of border security.

Overall, the executive orders signed by Trump indicate that a secure border was always attainable and that the Biden administration intentionally chose policies that incentivized illegal immigration, resulting in the current crisis. Those responsible should be held accountable for the impact of their decisions on the border and American communities.
