Even The Washington Post Is Now Opposed to Sex Changes for Kids.

Even The Washington Post is raising concerns about the lack of strong evidence for gender-transition treatments for children, like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. A recent editorial discussed these issues because of an upcoming Supreme Court case, United States v. Skrmetti, where the Biden administration is challenging a Tennessee law that bans these treatments for minors. The editorial points out that the Supreme Court's decision will affect Tennessee and 23 other states with similar restrictions on gender-transition procedures for minors. The Post states that the main issue in the case is whether patients have a civil right to undergo possibly harmful and ineffective medical treatments. In contrasting views, The Post claims the evidence supporting the benefits of these treatments is too weak and the risks are not well understood.

The editorial also criticizes the medical field for not conducting thorough studies on these treatments as they developed. It mentions an early Dutch clinic study, often cited by proponents, as flawed due to its small sample size and lack of control group. Furthermore, it raises concerns about clinicians possibly withholding negative findings. Recently, the UK banned puberty blockers for children, citing insufficient safety evidence, and the far-left Labour government extended this ban. In the US, hospitals have made over $120 million in profits from sex changes for minors.
