Biden Promised A Return To Normalcy, Looks Like Trump Will Deliver It

What do a $15 million settlement with ABC News, a Washington, D. C. , waitress getting fired, and the Los Angeles Times planning to include a bias meter in its news stories have in common? They are all signs that the country is returning to normalcy, which Joe Biden was expected to restore after the supposedly chaotic period of Donald Trump.

Trump's first term was marked by chaos largely caused by opposition rather than his actions. In contrast, Biden's actions led to true disorder, with issues like a controversial election, foreign conflicts, open borders, high inflation, rising deficits, shortages, censorship, biased justice, and a lack of competent leadership. As Trump’s efforts have been revived, a return to normalcy now seems possible.

The ABC News settlement, which includes a public apology and financial compensation over false claims made by journalist George Stephanopoulos, indicates that the media can no longer act without accountability to push an agenda. This follows situations where major publications refrained from endorsing Kamala Harris due to perceptions of her unsuitability for the presidency, leading to resignations among staff.

Furthermore, the Los Angeles Times' owner has decided to add an AI-powered bias meter to news reports, indicating a recognition that mainstream media needs clearer separation between news and opinion. This has caused unrest among those who oppose such measures, as it calls for journalism to refocus on reporting facts rather than promoting ideology.

In addition, a waitress in Washington, D. C. , was fired for making intolerant remarks about serving Trump administration officials. Where such remarks might have been celebrated during Trump's presidency, they are now met with condemnation from her employer, which stated her behavior was inappropriate. This illustrates a shift where public entities are expected to serve everyone rather than discriminate based on political beliefs.

Current corporate leaders are shifting back to treating all presidents with respect, as they typically did before being influenced by political pressures over the last eight years. A focus on producing quality products rather than engaging in political games would further signify a return to normal.

Trump’s goal to reduce government size and dismantle the administrative state reflects the founders’ vision of a limited federal government where elected leaders hold power instead of bureaucrats. Accomplishing this change would represent a significant return to normalcy, alongside avoiding the extreme events Biden hosted during his presidency.
