The Road to Perdition

In 1861, the motive of the Democratic Party driving toward Civil War was sustaining the institution of slavery.

The hatred is growing in intensity, as are the threats against President Trump and his supporters.

Vox notes how Democrat Congressman Joaquin Castro, presidential candidate Julian Castro's brother, "Tweeted a list of 44 San Antonio donors who contributed the maximum amount under federal law to Trump in 2019. 'Sad to see so many San Antonians as of 2019 maximum donors to Donald Trump,' he wrote, calling out a couple of the city's better-known donors by their Twitter handles. 'Their contributions are fueling a campaign of hate that labels Hispanic immigrants as 'invaders.'".

As President Trump was flying from Dayton, Ohio to El Paso, Texas, ABC News reported that, "In a forceful speech on the campaign trail on Iowa," Joe Biden asked,.

"How far is it from Trump saying this is an invasion to the shooter in El Paso declaring, quote, 'this attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas? How far apart are those comments,' Biden asked rhetorically. 'I don't think it's that far at all. It's both clear language and in code. This president has fanned the flames of white supremacy in this nation.'".

In an interview that posted on August 8, Presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris states that Trump "Is constantly creating terror in the people of our country."

"On the occasion corresponding to this four years ago, all thoughts were anxiously directed to an impending civil war. All dreaded it, all sought to avert it. While the inaugural address was being delivered from this place, devoted altogether to saving the Union without war, insurgent agents were in the city seeking to destroy it without war-seeking to dissolve the Union and divide effects by negotiation. Both parties deprecated war, but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive, and the other would accept war rather than let it perish, and the war came."
