Cultural Matters To Consider. 1

This is an interesting piece dealing with the roots of the thinking that drives modern day socialists.  Quote: "More often than not, socialism is associated with Marxism.  But this is a misconception, as Marxism is an ideology of communism, an extreme and exceptional current of socialism.  Marxism left a significant ideological imprint in socialist doctrines; nevertheless, it did not constitute a mass movement of the Left. The reality is trivial: Marxism belongs to the Left, but the mainstream of the Left's ideologies is not Marxian. Ironically, the main currents of socialism emerged as a reformation, a revision of Marxian thoughts.  Those revisionists can be divided into two groups: conformists and non-conformists.  To the latter group belong, for example, revolutionary syndicalists and Bolsheviks who emancipated themselves from the determinism of Marxian materialist conception of history and saw a violent revolution as the only means to overthrown capitalism.  The former group — Social Democrats — constitutes the majority of the socialist movement in Europe then and now."  And,  "Capitalism was overthrown in dozens of countries, and something that was called "socialism" by revolutionaries was tried there with great failure.  All known socialist regimes failed to exceed the prosperity of capitalism and committed an assault on individual rights as well as freedoms.  The modern left is employing an approach of partial socialization of property and partial collectivization of consciousness, at least in the beginning.  It is evident, as leftists are promoting policies of over-taxation, over-regulation, wealth redistribution, government spending, the creation of a nanny state, the indoctrination of the youth in schools and colleges with leftist ideology, and outright rejection as well as ridicule of other points of view. Socialism happens to be a political myth itself.  It is used by the modern left as a vehicle to gain political power and exploit the state as a money-making machine for the enrichment of the chosen elites.  Meanwhile, their voters continue to be in a state of perpetual victimhood and are forgotten until the next election."    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/04/ideological_roots_of_modern_socialists.html    This is definitely an apt description of the modern day American Democrat party and its pattern of promoting corruptive cultural ideals.

This item suggests that some American investors in Chinese stocks may actually be aiding and abetting Chinese human rights violations.  Quote: "Does your retirement plan or investment portfolio undermine human rights in China? For millions of Americans, the answer is yes. They unwittingly hold or benefit from investments in companies that enable the Chinese Communist Party’s oppression and imprisonment of the Uighur people. Consider two Chinese firms, Hikvision and Dahua Technology. They supply about one-third of the world’s security cameras, but in their home country, both companies have received government contracts — totaling more than $1 billion — to install a vast surveillance apparatus in the western province of Xinjiang. “The projects include not only security cameras but also video analytics hubs, intelligent monitoring systems, big data centers, police checkpoints, and even drones,” Charles Rollet wrote in June in Foreign Policy."     https://webmail.centurylink.net/mail#18

If this is not an open violation of the rights of children, I do not know what is. Liberals/left wingers who support the notion propounded by socialists leading California's education system prove them to be in league with those who think murdering babies is a good idea.  Both of these efforts are grossly immoral. Killing born babies and the act of an adult sexually abusing a child are crimes. Quote: "According to the Freedom Project, California likes to claim that it is leading the way in teaching LGBT history to students, but it could be on its way to normalizing pedophilia. Here’s what a top education official in the Brea Olinda School District said when a concerned parent asked why her 9th-grader was learning about pedophilia in school: “This is being done because we are talking about historical perspectives of how gender relations and different types of sexual orientations have existed in history,” explained Kerrie Torres, Assistant Superintendent of Curricula. When pressed as to whether the crime of pedophilia was being taught as a  “sexual orientation,” Torres replied: “It’s something that occurred in history, and so this is really important for us to include.” My immediate reaction to these statements: either Torres is trying way too hard to be PC with this issue or students in her district are actually learning about pedophilia as a form of “sexual orientation.”  And,  "Pedophilia is a crime in every state, but discrimination based on sexual orientation is illegal in many states – so does that mean we should not discriminate against pedophiles? Does that mean schools and churches will be forced to hire criminals to work with children? Perhaps the most disgusting possibility here is that students learning about pedophilia as a “sexual orientation” might assume that opposing sexual advances from an adult just because that person is an adult is a form of bigotry. No matter your sexual orientation, I think we can all agree that pedophiles do not belong to the LGBT community, or to any community other than that of the worst type of criminal."   http://punchingbagpost.com/2019/04/18/in-california-students-are-taught-that-pedophilia-is-a-sexual-orientation/?

Bad elitists who do bad things. They rewrite history for the purpose of misleading the uninformed.  Doing so has been a long time tradition.  While it is an unsavory act our left wing progressive historians have turned it into an art form.  This item provides insight.  Quote: "Current politicians' dishonorable commitment to fake news, false accusations, and fraudulent posturing for the cameras is a fulfillment of Orwell's fiction of decades ago.  George Orwell's declaration in his 1949 classic, Nineteen Eighty-Four, was, "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered.  And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute.  History has stopped.  Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right." That attack on truth has been considered fiction, but distorting history is a fact that is accelerating daily. Ashamed of the past and fearful of the future, desperate, duplicitous, and disgusting politicians have destroyed the historical record to make them look less unscrupulous and to confuse, corrupt, and control each generation.  A rewrite of history is in the making as I write. It has happened and has been accelerating since the beginning of time."  And, "Politicians never change, and modern politicians continue in the same way: they exaggerate their successes, excuse their shortcomings, and excise their sins.  Similarly today, politicians and their zealot followers seek to rewrite history and remove any photos or statues that might not meet their modern views of morality. Some U.S. textbooks don't deal with major American founders, and liberal censors insist that Huckleberry Finn be removed from libraries because it is politically incorrect."  And,  "Statues, paintings, etc. of difficult and embarrassing times in our nation's past are still a part of our past, and their presence could be a reminder that we don't want to make the same mistakes again.  That goes for mistakes made in the North as well as the South.  Would these dedicated progressives demand the destruction of the Roman Coliseum, where thousands were brutally slaughtered?  How about the Pyramids, since they were built by slaves? Such nonsense is an attack upon the past that won't change reality and will only confuse the present.  We should learn from history, not defile, distort, or destroy it."     https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/04/politicians_fearful_and_ashamed_of_truth_rewrite_history.html
