Kevin McCarthy’s ‘Revenge Tour’ Fizzles Out Worse Than His Speakership.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s multimillion-dollar attempt to take down the eight Republicans who ousted him as Speaker has ended in humiliating failure.

Another top target, Mace, won by 27 points despite McCarthy allies spending heavily against her.

The former Speaker’s primary targets, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), easily won their races, dealing a blow to McCarthy’s post-Congress ambitions.Gaetz, the architect of McCarthy’s Congressional downfall, crushed his primary opponent by 45 points.

The House Freedom Caucus chairman, was mostly defeated in the Republican primary because he supported his old congressional colleague, Ron DeSantis, for president.

The tactic may embolden state Democrats who will doubtlessly attempt to drive a wedge between the two before the election, with Governor DeSantis being term-limited out.

The former Speaker’s only victory was a narrow win against Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), whose defeat was so close it required a recount.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), one of the so-called “Gaetz Eight,” called further donations to McCarthy’s efforts “throwing money down a well.”McCarthy is now believed to be planning opposition to Gaetz in a potential Florida gubernatorial race in 2026.
