A Personal Commentary

President Trump's recent comments about what he feels about some within the NFL disrespecting the National Anthem created a firestorm.  Trump was wrong to enter the fray and even used some inappropriate words that could easily be misinterpreted/manipulated. However, I agree with the intent of what he said and disagree with the vitriolic responses/reactions of so many.  The current state of national and individual discord has long been coming. He did not start it, he inherited it. At the root of the issue is the political left's persistent efforts at forcing identity politics and political correctness into the mainstream.  That root can be found in Cultural Marxism which seeks to divide people into groups and create problems between them.  Their objective is cultural discord which has been produced.  Other examples include strait vs LBGT sexual views, religion vs religion or selected religious beliefs, feminist vs non-feminist, pro abortion vs pro life, white vs black races, Republican vs Democrat, rich vs poor, etc, etc..  Normal differences that debates pro and con typically produce to reach resolution no longer work.  Emotional arguments on both sides inhibit debate. Cultural Marxism encourages emotionally based divisions that produce intractable differences in order to enable opportunities for solutions that favor leftist political objectives to emerge.  This has occurred throughout history.  The use of hatred of Jews and pursuit of a pure Arian race while not the sole reason serves as an example that contributed to WWII.  In this case the charges by the political left that Trump is a hateful White Supremacist is provocation designed to incite reciprocal reactions on the part of those who agree with Trump.  The war in this case is a Cultural Marxist one designed to discredit a President so the population will turn against him in favor of a socialist Democrat replacement.  The manipulated masses are pawns in this political game sponsored by progressive socialist Democrats who want control over our nation. Trump upset the table Obama set for Hillary so the political left has a vendetta out for him.  Trump is in their way. That in a nut shell is what this is all about. The following items extend the conversation.
This former judge issues a thoughtful rebuke to the NFL commissioner and players who willingly take the benefits offered them by our country and yet choose to disrespect it.  She was responding to the commissioner's condemnation of President Trump pointing out that those who play the game, NFL executives and player leaders who engage in the hateful,  political correctness and social justice game of disrespectimg the country that has given them so much.  She points out how disrespectful so many of the players are to women and others in society given the horrendous level of criminal arrests they have relative to the general population.    http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/09/23/judge-jeanine-slams-anthem-protesters-roger-goodell-shame-on-you/   This is a side of the debate that the politically left mainstream media will not report because it undermines their America is racist narrative and that those of us on the political right are White Supremacists.  That is hogwash and they know it and do not care if the impugn the reputations of those who do not buy into their false narratives which exist for their political purposes only.  It is worthy of note that there are many among the NFL players who are really good people (whites and players of color) doing much good in their communities.  They should be recognized applauded for the good they do.  But, that does not erase the fact that while many NFL members are really good athletes they are not nice or good people and do not deserve the accolades they get and the protections the NFL and wealthy team owners provide.  Making money is their motive and that drives compromised ethics and decision making.  It is an accepted fact that far too many coddled athletes think they can get away with anything simply because they are good athletes.
This item reinforces the comments rendered by Judge Jeannine and my remarks.    http://americanactionnews.com/articles/we-don-t-need-no-stinking-rules-nfl-player-arrested-every-7-days    This item expands the misguided and falsehoods that fan thisdiscussion, provides hard facts and implicates the falsehood of the liberal left narrative.    http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/09/kaepernickitis_is_rooted_in_lies.html   This next piece offers food for thought without emotional rhetoric and focuses on logic and reason.  Quote: "Here’s the bottom line: this conflict isn’t good for the country. We need our shared symbols, and we need our shared spaces. Both of those elements are being destroyed for political and ratings gain. If that doesn’t stop, we’re not going to have anything at all in common anymore."    http://www.dailywire.com/news/21472/trump-vs-nfl-6-things-you-need-know-about-ben-shapiro#exit-modal?   This item affirms the charge that the NFL leadership has a double standard when applying their so called love of the first Amendment regarding their reaction to Trump's comments.  This duplicity and hypocrisy proves it.    http://www.dailywire.com/news/21470/nfls-free-speech-kneeling-anthem-fine-fighting-hank-berrien?
This item points out what many average Americans and rational present and former athletes feel about misguided protests of privileged athletes supporting the political left's false political correctness social justice narratives.   http://www.libertyplanet.com/articles/americans-take-a-knee-on-nfl-anthem-protests/    The reactions of loyal fans should concern players, NFL bigwigs and team owners.   https://conservativetribune.com/ticked-off-fans-anthem/?   And, Dr. Ben Carson offers a reasoned perspective that players, the NFL league office and team owners need to ponder.    https://www.westernjournalism.com/ben-carsons-perspective-on-nfl-anthem-controversy-goes-viral/?
This former Democrat is just one of many who fit the disrespectful and irrational mold. She and others like her are the real racists in this unsavory game.  Quote: "A former Democrat Congresswoman has called for every NFL player to kneel during the national anthem at Sunday's games, while branding President Donald Trump a 'white supremacist'. Donna Edwards, who retired as a US representative for Maryland earlier this year, issued the bold statement on Saturday, responding to Trump's criticism of NFL players who refuse to stand for the anthem. 'On Sunday, I hope every @NFL player takes a knee in solidarity w [Colin Kaepernick] against the white supremacist who squats in our White House,' Edwards said in reference to the former San Francisco quarterback, who is now a free agent.    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4913586/Maryland-pol-calls-NFL-players-kneel-Sunday.html   What seems missing from this whole fiasco is why is it okay for blacks and liberal/progressive whites to falsely invoke the term "white supremacist" on people who disagree with their political opinions all the while by their very own words and actions embrace the concept of their own to the rights of "black supremacy".   Aren't we all humans regardless of skin color???  Shouldn't we treat each other that way???  That would make for a far better world.
A thoughtful assessment of the whole mess. Quote: "There seems to be so much psychological displacement in the feelings between black and white America that it is next to impossible to sort out what to do next. White Dem-Progs (formerly “liberals”) appear to be so consumed with anxious consternation over the outcome of the long civil rights struggle that they are ready to commit a sort of hara-kiri to atone for their unforgivable cis-whiteness. To some extent, they have attempted to compensate by campaigning for an ever-growing list of other “marginalized” groups in the hopes of showing some positive results for social change — it’s just easier to get significant numbers of homosexuals into the corporate executive suites than to get blacks in there — but the Dem-Progs are still left with the grinding reality of a large, dysfunctional black underclass. They certainly can’t admit that their own contrived “remedies,” such as subsidizing out-of-wedlock births, has anything to do with it, or the devastating effect of “Multiculturalism” on some sort of unifying common culture based on values that everybody can agree on. Similarly, black America displaces their oppositionality to whatever remains of a national common culture into the memes of “systemic racism and injustice.” It has evolved insidiously in their own culture since the 1960s, probably (I believe) as a reaction to the anxiety provoked by the civil rights legislation of 1964-65. It’s really about behavior, especially in school. Are you interested in speaking English? Believe me, that would help a lot in this society. Consider this: Ella Fitzgerald was not singing black or white back in the day. She was just singing."    https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/25/take-the-knee/
This is an example of an owner who has long been friendly with Trump and his policies but now chooses to protect his multimillion football enterprise and forsake reason and principles.  Quote: "President Donald Trump has had a cozy relationship with the New England Patriot’s football team. He has a long history of friendships with team owner Robert Kraft, coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. But Kraft, who spoke out about how good of a friend President Trump was to him during his darkest hour, didn’t wait too many hours to stick the knife in the president’s back. “I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the President on Friday,” he said in a statement released by the New England Patriots."  You can decide where his interests lay and the nature of his ethics.    https://www.teaparty.org/patriots-owner-trump-friend-robert-kraft-chooses-sides-potus-nfl-fight-267910/
The debate expands.  Opinions differ.  We all need to consider the validity or lack thereof of the basis of the undercurrents that drive the debate.  http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/donald-trump-nfl-nascar-national-anthem/2017/09/25/id/815503/?   Here is another cogent perspective and is one that is legitimate.  Quote: "Think about this: On one side, we have people who love the flag, who support the veterans, who support US wars of empire in any far-flung place, who support the massive destruction of life in Iraq and Afghanistan, who support the government with its unending Surveillance State. On the other side, we have people who want to blame the basic conditions of inner cities on police, who want to avoid talking about gangs and shootings and drugs and the failed war on poverty and race baiters and the theft of jobs by Globalists. Entering either of these realms is entering a trance. It may be an active trance, but the game is still hypnosis. “If you can keep your head when all [those] about you are losing theirs…” Controllers are in the business of pitting one trance against another, for profit, advantage, and power. "    https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2017/09/25/trump-goes-to-war-with-nfl-what-happened/   Another interesting take.   http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/352189-bill-oreilly-nfl-team-owners-run-businesses-not-political-debate-clubs
I once enjoyed NFL football even knowing of the hypocrisy with which the league and owners handled themselves regarding consequential health problems many players suffered playing for their benefit (ie: disrespecting players by refusing due compensation for those who suffered head trauma and other health problems) and coddling/protecting criminal elements in their ranks because their on-field performance also enhanced  both the league and team owner's bottom lines.  My feelings have changed largely because of the dishonesty, greediness and rank hypocrisy that drives this false leftist narrative.
