The New York Times published the results (and interpretation) of its latest COVID poll.

• Trump Derangement Syndrome is to blame for the Mass Formation that has occurred, particularly among what the NYT characterizes as "very liberal adults" (hypnosis, psychosis, or choose your favorite term).
• Forty-seven percent of very liberal adults said that they believed Covid presented a "great risk" to their own personal health and well-being. That was a significantly larger share than among conservatives, moderates or liberals who stopped short of calling themselves very liberal.

The New York Times released a poll on COVID-19 that found that Americans are less worried about the virus today

• driving that decline is the receding level of anxiety among the very liberal
• A growing number of very liberal Americans have decided that it's time to treat Covid as an unpleasant but manageable part of life, much as many other Americans decided months ago.

The NYT goes on to present these unsubstantiated doozies:

• 28% of Americans are either virtue signaling, demonstrating their tribal affiliation, or have not been exposed by their favorite media channels to the clear truth that the common masks do not protect against a very small respiratory virus which infects via nose, mouth and eyes
• Conservatives are much less likely to be vaccinated or boosted, which means that many are voluntarily exposing themselves to Covid risk
• Very liberal Americans remain more worried about the virus than almost any other demographic group, including the elderly

California Urges Avoiding Charging Electric Cars To Ward Off Blackouts In Heatwave Because State Loses Solar Power When The Sun Goes Down

Just days after passing a law banning new sales of gasoline powered cars by 2035, California is urging residents to avoid charging their electric vehicles during peak hours in the coming week to help ward off blackouts during an expected heatwave.

"During a Flex Alert, consumers are urged to reduce energy use from 4-9 p.m. when the system is most stressed because demand for electricity remains high and there is less solar energy available. The top three conservation actions are to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and charging electric vehicles, and turn off unnecessary lights."

The California Independent System Operator that manages the electric grid for about 80 percent of the Golden State warns the power system is expected to come under strain as homeowners and businesses crank up their air conditioning units.

FOLSOM, Calif. - Starting tomorrow through Tuesday, California and the West are expecting extreme heat that is likely to strain the grid with increased energy demands, especially over the holiday weekend.

The power grid operator expects to call on Californians for voluntary energy conservation via Flex alerts over the long weekend.

Feds Pinpoint Nearly 30K Mexican Passport Holders With Middle Eastern Names in Fraud Investigation

Federal law enforcement officials have identified a high number of individuals with Middle Eastern names traveling with Mexican passports, according to an internal Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Since the beginning of 2022, nearly 30,000 Mexican passport holders were flagged as part of the investigation into passport fraud, the memo states, adding that each identified individual will be further evaluated.

A senior official at DHS who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the agency will likely investigate whether any of the individuals have traveled to the United States and whether there are any other patterns in their travel.

DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said last year that the United States risks losing its "First line of defense" because of the "Unsustainable" amount of illegal immigration at the border.

Law enforcement officials appear concerned that bad actors could abuse the legal travel system to enter the country with passports obtained from Mexico, and enter the United States legally.

Roughly 20 million Mexican citizens easily travel to the United States as tourists each year, according to the U.S. Travel Association.

The agency uses naming conventions specific to different regions to automatically pinpoint the most likely nationality of individuals-in Mexico, for example, individuals typically keep two surnames, one from each parent.

CNN Realizes Global Migration’s a Problem, and Border Patrol Chief Admits Biden's the Reason

Since DHS issued that press release over four years ago, the situation at the Southwest border has only gotten worse, as the share of illegal entrants who are "Other than Mexican" and who are also not from the Northern Triangle countries CNN references at the Southwest border has surged.

Of the more than 1.816 million aliens apprehended by Border Patrol at the Southwest border in the first 10 months of FY 2022, more than 732,600 were OTM/ONTs, "Long-distance migrants" from countries as far away as China, India, and Romania.

Of the 10.2 million illegal migrants apprehended by Border Patrol at the Southwest border between FY 2000 and FY 2009, 9.6 million were Mexican nationals.

Border Patrol facilities were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s to accommodate those single adult Mexican males, who could be processed in eight hours or less and quickly removed or returned back across the border.

As Fox News reported on August 30, Biden's own Border Patrol chief, Raul Ortiz, admitted under oath during a deposition in litigation brought by the state of Florida that the president's "Border policies have 'no consequences' for illegal migrants traveling into the U.S. and are to blame for the unprecedented surge at the border and release of hundreds of thousands into the interior of the country".

Biden's own Border Patrol chief has admitted the president's policies fail to impose consequences for illegal entry and so the welcome mat to the whole world at the Southwest border will remain until the administration itself wakes up and pulls it back.

US oil reserves fall to 37-year low as Biden continues to export America’s oil to China

The United States' strategic oil reserves fell to a 37-year low as President Joe Biden continues to release millions of barrels of oil and put them up for sale.

• According to the latest report from the Department of Energy, the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fell to 453.1 million barrels as of Aug. 19. This is the lowest level the SPR has been since Jan. 1985.

US keeps selling oil to Asia, especially to China

• Tens of millions of barrels from the Strategic Reserves are going to Asia in record amounts
• Buyers from China, India and South Korea have picked up more than 20 million barrels
• Chinese corporations have received most of the sold-off American oil
• Sinopec, a Beijing-based oil and gas corporation, received 5.9 million barrels in total
• Sales to Unipec appear to fall in the lower price range among the government's successful buyers of the SPR, with the latest contracts showing that oil was sold between $7.95 to $5.6 cheaper than market prices
