'Make America Safe Again': New crime numbers show dramatic drop after Trump's 1st year of 2nd term

According to new statistics from the Census Bureau’s National Crime Victimization Survey, violent and property crime rates have significantly dropped during the first year of President Donald Trump’s second term. The report reveals noteworthy declines compared to the last year of Joe Biden's administration.

• Crime Victimization Data:

• Violent crime victimization decreased by 25%.

• Property crime victimization fell by 19%.

• Specific Crime Rates:

• Approximately 7.5 million violent victimizations were recorded in 2025, a reduction from 8.2 million in 2024.

• Serious violent crimes such as aggravated assault dropped by 31%, from around 1.30 million incidents to 907,000.

• Robbery victimization fell by 27%, totaling about 454,000 incidents.

• Property crimes reduced from about 18.4 million incidents in 2024 to around 14.9 million in 2025.

• Factors Contributing to Declines:

• Effective policing has reportedly encouraged more victims to report crimes.

• Increased immigration enforcement has contributed by removing over 400,000 illegal aliens with criminal charges or convictions.

• There was a noted 25% increase in fentanyl seizures, and a 57% rise in gun-trafficking charges.

• The FBI disrupted approximately 1,800 gangs and criminal networks.

The Justice Department highlights these changes as evidence that Trump's "Make America Safe Again" agenda is effective, asserting that the focus on law enforcement and immigration is key to improving safety for American citizens. The declines in crime rates mark the largest single-year drops since the survey started in 1973, suggesting a significant transformation in the crime landscape during this administration.
