The USPS has created a division that will oversee mail-in ballots in future elections
Adrienne Marshall, executive director of the newly created Election and Government Mail Services, said that it will oversee "election mail strike teams" in local communities to deal with possible problems.
The USPS claimed it delivered 97.9% of ballots from voters to election officials within three days, and 99.89% within seven days during the 2020 election.
Reliability and Fraud
Numerous lawsuits were filed in the wake of the 2020 election over the ballots, drop boxes, and related policies, while some GOP-controlled legislatures have tightened rules around absentee voting since then.
In 2005, former President Jimmy Carter and former White House chief of staff James Baker released a report (pdf) that found mail-in and "absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud" while adding that vote-buying schemes are far more difficult to detect when citizens vote by mail.
