This is an example of how serious Democrats are about protecting illegal immigrants from harm.  Quote: "House Democrats spent two years in the minority last Congress admonishing Republicans for not doing enough to protect and care for migrant children crossing the nation’s southern border. Now in the majority with control over the House floor, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her conference are poised to let funding for the Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) program run out. Why? White House OMB Director Russ Vought sent congressional leadership a letter May 1 requesting $4.5 billion in emergency funding, citing an unfolding “humanitarian and security crisis” that is becoming “more dire each day.” While Vought’s request included funding for additional ICE beds, resources to care for migrants, including mothers and children, who are apprehended by law enforcement, the majority was for humanitarian aid, which includes the care and placement of unaccompanied alien children, otherwise known as the UAC program."  Now get this. "  Democratic leaders have no intention of responding to the Trump administration’s request. The truth is they never cared about the children in the first place. It was all pure politics. They have zero interest in securing the border. They want open borders and have shown a blatant disregard for the rule of law. Pelosi claimed in 2018 that, “Democrats have taken full responsibility for the border.” Now, as Speaker, while she controls the House floor, Pelosi can lead and take responsibility. What has that ‘leadership’ gotten us? A paltry $1.375 billion for less than adequate border security funding, two-consecutive months of over 100,000 apprehensions at the southern border, hundreds of pounds of dangerous narcotics flowing across our border, and cartels remain in operational control of our immigration system. First, Pelosi and Democrats denied the existence of the national emergency. Now, they are willing to let federal agencies run out of money to care for migrant children. This item is something I suspect most of us either did not know or fully understand, before now. The Roe v. Wade court decision was based on a series of lies. Quote: "Of course, Norma McCorvey was the Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade. After converting to Christ and the pro-life position (about 15 years after the Supreme Court decision), she proclaimed to the world that the whole case had been based on a lie (a few lies, really). Chief among the lies was that she was raped (gang-raped at that), and that was why she needed an abortion.  By the time, Roe v. Wade was decided on January 22, 1973, Norma had already had her baby (a girl), whom she gave up for adoption. Justice William Rehnquist, one of two dissenters in the decision, voted against it because it was a moot point. Roe’s baby had already been born.  The opinion of Roe of Roe v. Wade is significant for the abortion debate, including the Alabama law, because abortion was accepted on a wide scale throughout the country, only by judicial fiat. It was not something “we the people” voted on.  Look at how divided the country continues to be on the subject of abortion. Well, why not? We the people did not decide that case on that fateful Monday. Dissenting Justice Byron White, the only Justice appointed by JFK, said that Roe was an “act of raw judicial power.”  No wonder the pro-abortion crowd is up in arms.  It was as Justice White said an "...an act of raw judicial power", indeed, an act of judicial activism not within the power of the Supreme Court to determine.  It has all along been an unconstitutional law.  The political left elitists must know the history and are now concerned that Roe v. Nancy and Chuck are you and your fellow Democrats listening?  Of course not. Do they care? Yes, Nancy there is a crisis at the border.  Consider this illegal and irresponsible behavior you and your party incentivizes.  Are you proud of yourself? The villagers remaining in Guatemala say that pretty girls and young women who pay the cartel fees just disappear. They’re never heard from again, and they don’t end up at our southern border. We can all guess the unspeakable outcome. Now that the cartels have emptied the villages of paying customers, new criminals who are even worse are showing up. These new thieves offer to traffic the villagers to America for just $400 – a steal compared to the $11,000 demanded by the cartels. The Illogic of Democrat logic is an incredible thing to behold.  They say that if a member of Congress can be caught with a DUI and survive the incident then illegals who do so should be able to become permanent residents.  Maybe a better bit of logic would be to not vote for members of congress who have a propensity to disobey our nation's laws.  Illegals who disobey the nation's laws are no better or worse than Democrats who routinely flaunt the law themselves and by coddling and encouraging illegals to do so, too. To Democrats being a lawful citizen is not a high priority. Cheney’s comments drew an irate riposte on Sunday from Preet Bharara, who was fired by Trump as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
