Minn.: Fmr prosecutor and 3 others charged in multi-year sex trafficking and money laundering ring

A former Anoka County Assistant Attorney, Andrea Leigh Sampson, and three accomplices have been charged for their involvement in a multi-year sex trafficking network in the Minneapolis area.

Charges Filed: Hennepin County prosecutors have detailed 26 felony counts against the four defendants, including promoting and profiting from prostitution.

Main Defendants: The accused include Andrea Leigh Sampson (35), Frank Reeves (57, identified as the ringleader), Viktoriya Sergeyevna Komonash (30, referred to as a "house mom"), and Katherine Michelle Thomes (36).

Operation Details: The trafficking activities took place from 2020 to 2026 in suburbs like Minneapolis and Eden Prairie. Reeves and Komonash were reportedly responsible for recruiting women and managing appointments, while Thomes operated a website to advertise victims.

Sampson's Role: As an attorney, Sampson allegedly used her legal expertise to establish shell companies for laundering profits and provided infrastructure to protect the criminal operation.

Arrest and Bail: The four were arrested and have a bail set at $1 million each. Sampson was placed on leave in February and fired in March.

The investigation continues, with authorities encouraging any more victims to come forward as they seek justice against those involved in this disturbing case.
