On August 13, 2026, the White House unveiled a new public dashboard, "The Fraud Ledger," to reveal approximately $230 billion in suspected fraud within federal programs since President Trump resumed office.
The dashboard is part of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, led by Vice President JD Vance.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is reported to have the highest suspected fraud at $122.9 billion, followed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with $96.2 billion.
The task force claims to have prevented around $56 billion in fraudulent payments and executed over $55 billion in enforcement actions since January 2025.
The dashboard features a national map highlighting the ten most significant enforcement actions since early 2025, including the suspension of payments to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority pending a fraud investigation.
It also includes cases related to Medicare and Medicaid fraud, misuse of COVID-19 relief loans, and the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal in Minnesota.
A coordinated effort involving multiple federal agencies has been made to combat fraud, highlighted by a June operation where over 450 people were charged in schemes totaling over $6.5 billion.
The newly launched “Fraud Ledger” aims to provide transparency and centralization of information regarding federal fraud investigations, showcasing the administration’s commitment to recovering taxpayer money and combating fraud effectively.
