A former postal worker in Mesa County, Colorado, has pleaded guilty to charges related to stealing and fraudulently casting ballots in the 2024 presidential election.
• Accused Individuals: Vicki Stuart, 64, entered her guilty plea on May 5 to charges of identity theft and forgery. Her associate, Sally Jane Maxedon, was also involved in the scheme that led to their arrest.
• Scheme Details: The charges arise from an operation where Stuart and Maxedon intercepted mail-in ballots meant for voters, forged signatures, and submitted these ballots as if they were legitimate votes. This act was justified by the duo as an attempt to test the state's signature verification system.
• Ballots Affected: At least 12 ballots were reported stolen, with three successfully being counted after passing through the verification process.
