Europol has recently dismantled a large international network of child pornography known as "Kidflix," revealing alarming details about its operations.
• The "Kidflix" site hosted over 91,000 child porn videos, with about three new uploads every hour.
• Users paid to access and upload their own child sex abuse videos using cryptocurrencies to remain anonymous. They could also earn tokens for uploads.
• The operation spanned 35 countries and had around two million users, leading to dozens of arrests, including 79 confirmed individuals, with 1,400 suspects identified.
• The investigation lasted nearly three years, resulting in the seizure of thousands of devices and the shutdown of servers in Germany and the Netherlands.
• Officials suspect many arrested not only viewed and uploaded content but also engaged in direct abuse.
This case showcases ongoing, widespread issues of child exploitation, with other similar operations being uncovered globally.
