Due to his criminal history, Hunter Biden has decided to give up his law license in Washington, D. C. He was convicted of multiple felony tax offenses and misdemeanor tax offenses, as well as felony charges for illegally purchasing a revolver in 2018. Although pardoned by his father, former President Joe Biden, in December 2024, Hunter's decision to disbar himself was reported recently.
By choosing to disbar, Hunter avoided lengthy legal battles about whether his criminal record meant he should lose his license. The D. C. Bar's Board on Professional Responsibility recommends that the court accept his disbarment. Hunter, now a struggling artist, has faced financial troubles recently due to low art sales and affects from the L. A. fires.
