The House Judiciary Committee approved a resolution on Wednesday to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for ignoring a Congressional subpoena related to the impeachment inquiry of his father, President Biden. The Committee’s decision, approved by a vote of 23 to 14, puts the case forward for a full House floor vote — which could occur as early as next week — and could see the lower chamber recommending Hunter Biden for prosecution.
The House Oversight Committee also met to consider a similar resolution Wednesday morning, however, it has not yet been passed by the committee. The Judiciary Committee’s passage of a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress came after both committees recommended such action be taken following the first son’s failure to respond to a subpoena requiring his presence at a Congressional deposition related to President Biden’s impeachment inquiry.
