A researcher with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said 998 young children suffered non-serious responses after getting COVID-19 vaccinations, but no evidence was noted of an increased risk for myocarditis following the COVID vaccination in children ages 6 months to 5 years.
The overwhelming majority of reported adverse event describe outcomes designated non-serious, or results that did not include death, life-threatening illness, hospitalization, permanent disability, congenital anomaly or birth defect.
- VAERS includes 19 reports of serious events, however, for the cohort of young children who received a COVID-19 vaccination.
