DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is demanding that the D.C. National Guard be activated indefinitely to help with migrant buses arriving in DC. Calling it a "humanitarian crisis" that has reached a "tipping point" with 4,000 migrants so far. She's also requesting the DC Armory be used as a processing center to deal with the illegal aliens.

- Calling it a humanitarian crisis, Bowser declared that D.C. is a sanctuary city, but didn’t consider what that might truly mean
- 4,000 illegal migrants are expected to arrive in the next few days
Republicans had a few things to say
- Texas Gov. Greg Abbott: "Washington D.C. finally understands what Texans have been dealing with every single day, as our communities are overrun by thousands of illegal immigrants."
- Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey: "I've called on the Biden admin since April 2021 to declare a national emergency and deploy the powers of the federal government. No response. So, we deployed the National Guard on our own, with state resources."
