  • In response to claims of illegitimate ballots in the 2020 presidential election, Arizona Republicans enacted reforms to secure statewide elections and prosecuted ballot harvesters

Pennsylvania won't certify primary election results in three counties

Jul 21, 2022
Pennsylvania has not certified the results of its May 17 primary election in three counties due to lingering legal disputes over the counting of mail-in ballots. The state sued the three counties last week, aiming to force them to count ballots without handwritten dates, the Associated Press reported.

The Pennsylvania Department of State has said it will certify the three counties' results when the litigation concludes.

  • Judges in both Commonwealth Court and the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals previously rule that ballots lacking handwritten dates are valid, though the appellate court's ruling awaits a hearing before the Supreme Court.
