Last Wednesday night we witnessed history as President Trump became just the third sitting U.S. President to be impeached.
Earlier this year she was stalwart in her opposition to impeachment, telling the Washington Post, "I'm not for impeachment. Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don't think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he's just not worth it."
After President Trump asked Ukraine to look into the former Vice President's troublesome son for shady activity in the region, he became "Worth it" to Pelosi as the radicals in her party became frenzied and demanded action.
Now, it appears that it may not even have been an actual impeachment at all.
As Bloomberg's Noah Feldman notes, impeachment is not established until the Senate is involved, largely to provide the president with an opportunity to defend himself.
"Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial," Feldman writes.
"Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial."
