Former independent counsel Ken Starr said that he believes President Trump's impeachment is an attempt by the Democrats to overthrow the president.
"Whatever you think of him - you don't think well of him; you think ill of him - it is not your business to use power in such an unprincipled way. Again, shame on you."
"Do you think this is an effort to overthrow the president?" Levin asked.
"Absolutely," Starr, a recurring contributor for Fox News, added.
The House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump on two articles of impeachment - one based on abuse of power and another for obstruction of Congress.
Starr's comments appear to contradict previous statements he's made about impeachment.
Following U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland's testimony in front of the House Intelligence Committee, Starr, who served as the U.S. solicitor general under President George H.W. Bush, said that, "We now know that the president committed the crime of bribery. The something of value, that's litigable."
