Maricopa County Announces Runbeck Mistakenly Sent Out Thousands of Midterm Ballots – Trump Responds to TGP: “There Were No Errors… They Got Caught!”

Maricopa County in Arizona reported that its ballot printing vendor, Runbeck Election Services, mistakenly sent out over 3,000 ballots ahead of the early voting period. This incident has drawn significant criticism from former President Trump, who accused the county's election processes of being dishonest and rigged.

Mistaken Ballots: Maricopa County admitted that Runbeck had sent 3,126 early ballots by mistake, just days before the official mailing date of October 7, 2026. This error was not authorized by the County Recorder's office, which learned of it only after the ballots were mailed.

Historical Context: This is not the first issue involving Runbeck. In previous elections, including the 2022 primaries, thousands of ballots sent contained incorrect information. Trump has consistently criticized Runbeck, asserting it is responsible for various voting irregularities, including serious allegations about security violations in previous elections like those in 2020.

Official Responses: Maricopa County claimed that, despite the premature mailing, the correct ballots were sent and that the situation did not adversely affect any voters. They also shared a statement from Runbeck, but the company refused to make it public. The County Recorder's office decided to release it instead for transparency.

Trump's Reaction: Trump called the incident "crooked" and expressed doubt about the legitimacy of the errors. He claimed that those responsible should be ashamed and stated emphatically, "There were no errors," suggesting that the situation was intentional.

Kari Lake's Comments: Kari Lake, a prominent figure in Arizona politics, echoed Trump’s concerns, questioning the integrity of elections in Arizona and emphasizing that residents deserve honest election processes.

The recent misstep by Runbeck Election Services in Maricopa County has sparked an outcry from political figures and raised further questions about election integrity in Arizona. Trump and Lake's strong reactions signify the continuing scrutiny of election processes in the state, as concerns about fairness and transparency persist among many voters and political activists.
