Did you know that the South Carolina Department of Commerce set up a SC EV website? They not only list their partners, but the "aggressive incentives" that SC offers EV companies to move here:
1. No state property tax
2. No inventory tax
3. No sales tax on manufacturing machinery, industrial power or materials for finished products
4. No wholesale tax
5. No unitary tax on worldwide profits
6. Favorable corporate income tax structure
7. No local income tax
As outlined in Executive Order 2022-31, Governor Henry McMaster directed the South Carolina Department of Commerce (S.C. Commerce) to designate an EV coordinator to serve as a resource and point of contact for the business community and industry stakeholders, as well as federal, state, and local government entities and members of the public for EV-related issues or inquires. Additionally, the executive order directed S.C. Commerce to establish an informational webpage to serve as a resource repository to prioritize and enhance ongoing electric vehicle economic development and recruitment efforts. As a result, S.C. Commerce created and launched this site, scpowersev.com.
Also, S.C. Commerce is charged with coordinating the implementation of a strategic initiative designed to prioritize and enhance ongoing economic development, business support, and recruitment efforts with electric vehicle and automotive manufacturers.
