What The Cliven Bundy and BLM Standoff Is Expsoing

A distinct odor is emerging with respect to the Bundy - BLM standoff.  It has exposed the fact that US elites have cut a deal with the Chinese by lifting a ban on Chinese purchases of US energy resources put in place in 2005 by President Bush.  President Obama and Senator Reid are in the lead.  This article documents at least some of their efforts.  The 6 March 2012 edition of the Wall Street Journal documented Chinese purchases in seven US states.  Although some media outlets have published snippets about the selloffs, the government, especially Congress and mainstream media have failed the public by not raising concerns and investigating this selling off to the Chinese huge swaths of US property/energy rights.  A few select elite Americans stand to make a lot of money not the least of which is Rory Reid, Harry Reid's son.   We need to demand our elected representatives check into these ongoing deals and reveal full details, who stands to gain and if it is time to call a halt to relinquishing to the Chinese so much of our national wealth.  (I have already done so)  We may find all is in order but I think there is reason for concern.  And, the mainstream media needs to get off their behinds and do a bit of investigative reporting for a change.

The first major intrusion of China in the U.S. oil and natural gas market can be traced to the Obama administration decision in October 2009 to allow state-owned Chinese energy giant China Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, to purchase a multi-million dollar stake in 600,000 acres of South Texas oil and gas fields.
