Everyone should read this and give it serious consideration. For a very
long time the liberal left has been in pursuit of this dream. The idea
is to bypass the electoral college and elect presidents via direct
popular vote. What is wrong with that you ask? It is a very bad idea.
Here's why. If implemented the only votes that will matter are those
cast in the states with the largest populations. Guess what? Those are
the most liberal states in the country. Which party do you think will
win every presidential election? The Democrats fueled by their
progressive and liberal money and influence will be the winners and in
permanent control of the country. During election cycles the only
places presidential candidates will campaign are the states that get
them elected. The rest of the people will be ignored - why waste time
and money seeking support in states that don't matter? As a consequence
the interests of ignored states in national politics will not matter.
The only interests federal politicians will pursue will be those of the
Large Cities and Densely Populated Centers. Check out the states
involved - they are bastions of liberal governance and the states that
have the worst problems with poverty, crime, unemployment and are fiscal
basket cases. If this happens the welfare state will balloon and
consume both the nation and the financial resources of fiscally
responsible states. Historically responsible states will, in
fact, become the paymasters for the federal government's uncontrollable
spending, and provide resources for fiscally irresponsible states. And
guess what, the consequence will to reduce them to servant states for
the progressive/liberal states/population centers. Dangerous? Yes!
Destructive? Yes!. Fight for all you are worth in your state to bring
this misguided notion to a screeching halt! Otherwise, we are doomed.

By the way, have you heard this discussed by the progressive mainstream
media? No? That is by design...if the sleeping public is not informed
and made to understand the dangers it poses, the progressives/liberals
will win and the masses will be reduced to permanent serfdom. Sound
familiar? It should. Just consider the history of Soviet Russia and
China. It will be America's version of the socialist maxim: socialism
is not for the socialists; it is for the masses.
