Mr. Sund makes it clear that higher-ups wanted the Capitol to be overrun with protestors. He begged for assistance all day from multiple agencies (and Michael Flynn) and was denied support. The Department of Defense even sent extra protection to generals’ private residences, while leaving the Capitol wide open until 6pm, when the National Guard finally showed up.
Incidentally, he agrees that Ray Epps’ actions were “suspicious as hell.”
