On healthcare, the Radical Left would love nothing more than to create a fully socialized healthcare system. Remember Obama’s infamous lie, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor"?
Thankfully our Freedom Caucuses are fighting to protect you and your family when it comes to healthcare policy:
The Wyoming Freedom Caucus unilaterally killed off Medicaid expansion in the Cowboy State. Going forward, the Democrats and the RINOs will keep trying to expand Medicaid, but as long as there is a WY Freedom Caucus, our members will keep killing it. The WY Freedom Caucus also successfully authored and passed two bills (HB 127 and SF 80) which require healthcare facilities to allow family and clergy visitation rights during a public health emergency (like during COVID) so that patients aren’t forced to suffer alone in hospitals and elder care settings.
The Arizona Freedom Caucus successfully defeated Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs’ radical nominee to head the state’s Department of Health Services. When the AZFC Chairman asked the nominee if she regretted recommending the brutal COVID lockdowns, the nominee said, “I don’t know.”
The Georgia Freedom Caucus successfully led the efforts to kill HB 520, a massive mental health bill that carried a $1 Billion price tag, expanded government, and infringed on personal liberties. The GAFC’s efforts led to nearly 500 calls per day to representatives at the Capitol. The GA Freedom Caucus also introduced and successfully led the efforts to pass SB 1, a bill to protect citizens from being discriminated against based on their vaccination status.
The Idaho Freedom Caucus successfully blocked a bloated $4.7 billion Medicaid budget, forcing leadership to remove funding for ineligible Medicaid recipients, saving Idaho taxpayers a $150 million.
The Louisiana Freedom Caucus successfully introduced and passed HB 291, a bill to ensure in-person visits at medical facilities so that no patient dies alone.
The South Carolina Freedom Caucus, for years, has pushed for full repeal of the state’s “Certificate of Need” (CON) law. This nefarious law allows big hospitals to use the force of government to prevent competitors from coming into their area and threatening their market share. This keeps prices high and medical quality low. The SC Freedom Caucus successfully championed Senate Bill 164 which repeals CON laws in the state. The Caucus unsuccessfully introduced an amendment to eliminate the four year implementation lag in the bill, making it not fully realized until 2027, but the bill was ultimately passed and signed into law earlier this year.
The Montana Freedom Caucus successfully introduced and passed HB 303 which ensures that medical practitioners are not punished in any form for refusing to take part in procedures that violate their right to conscience.
These success stories are very real and undeniable. Imagine what we can do if we had a freedom caucus in all 50 states! If you share our vision and want to support our efforts, please donate now.
Keep fighting,
Andy Roth
