President Barack Obama took a firm stance Thursday in response to
questions on the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative
political groups and the Justice Department’s examination of leaks to
The Associated Press, as his administration continued its effort to
seize control of the narrative on those fronts.
On the IRS, the president told reporters his “main concern is fixing a problem, and we began that process yesterday” with the resignation of acting IRS commissioner Steven Miller. He plans to appoint a replacement this week.
