An article in October falsely suggested that I had intervened to obtain opportunity-zone status for the 107,000-acre Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center,
or TRIC,
to benefit what the Times said was my minority investment in a partnership holding 688 acres of raw land in TRIC. The singular focus on this tiny sliver of the 107,000 acres makes no sense.
As Fred Smith,
founder and CEO of FedEx,
wrote in these pages in November,
the Times attacked his company by "
Printing selected facts,
connecting unrelated events,
and implying nefarious activities when there were none whatever."
That's exactly what the Times did to me last fall in a long article about Nevada real estate investments.
The Times,
which sometimes seems to exist in an alternate universe,
knew before publication that important conclusions and implications in the article about me were wrong because we and the U.S. Treasury gave them every relevant fact.
I've never spoken to Mr. Mnuchin,
any other government official or anyone else about putting TRIC in an opportunity zone;
I have never authorized anyone to act for me on that matter and no one has ever asked me to take any action related to it;
I had no knowledge of any lobbying to put TRIC in an opportunity zone.
These documents provide a sobering antidote to the errors,
omissions,
deceptions and bias in the Times article.
The Times has now sent my office new questions that suggest another article is in the works.
The greater risk is that no one is safe when a previously respected news organization deploys its considerable resources to twist the truth.

Democrats condemned Trump's peace plan in unison,
regarding his generous proposal for a demilitarized Palestinian state as not substantial enough for their Hamas allies.
Presumably,
there is an unspoken plan to grab even more land from the heart of Israel in the south to make a proposed Arab "
Palestinian"
state contiguous in all its territory.
Imagine if Hamas were allowed to create a state in Judea and Samaria - the heart of Israel?
There would not be a single square inch of the remainder of Israeli territory that would not be subject to a perennial threat of terror attacks and infiltrations.
Were Israel to cede Samaria,
even if the "
Palestinian"
state were demilitarized,
any two-bit terror cell could paralyze the country indefinitely with cheap surface-to-surface,
surface-to-air,
and shoulder-fired rockets.
Worse,
once a recognized state is created,
Israel would have no ability to conduct counterterror operations to halt the inevitable terror attacks.
If the dangerous motives of the two-state solution aren't apparent already,
consider one final point that speaks to the immoral dichotomy inherent in creating an Arab Palestinian state.
Israel is the only Jewish state in the world,
yet despite its relatively tiny size,
there are two million Arabs - mostly Muslims - living within the "

The State of Virginia,
recently,
thanks to democracy went full on Democrat Majority,
and among the most egregious laws the commies of the party of the donkey have put into place have been nasty gun control laws that are ready to move into full on gun confiscation mode.
The State of Oregon,
largely thanks to the hard-left voters in the Portland area,
has offered a number of draconian gun laws as well,
but so far the largely rural State has not chased the worst of them.
States must be republics,
not democracies,
oligarchies,
theocracies,
or any other non-republican form of government.

Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution states that "
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government."
At the Constitutional Convention,
for example,
it was not just We the People that the delegates in that convention represented,
but they were also representatives of the States,
and the overall interests of the States.
Because of democracy these largely rural and conservative States are being manhandled by the hard-left socialist oligarchs and uniformed voters of their large cities.
Because of pure democracy these States have become leftist dystopias where the socialists of the population centers dictate to the rest of the State what they can or can't do,
with those policies largely standing against the interests of the rural areas,
and completely slamming liberty for all in the face with a socialist iron fist.

Hanan Ashrawi,
a prominent Palestinian official and no stranger to blood libels,
retweeted the troll account's mendacious comments adding, "
The heart just shatters."
She later recanted,
noting that the report was unverified.
Blood libels are an affront to humanity and refer to a centuries-old mendacity that Jews murder non-Jews - Muslims and Christians - for ritualistic purposes.
The Hamas charter,
which subscribes to the notorious Protocols of the Elders of Zion,

The PLO's Hanan Ashrawi heads a Western-funded non-governmental organization called Miftah,
which has in the past,
