Their questioning of Ford was a sham.  Rather than question the witnesss they sang her praises, commended her courage and elevated her status to that of a national hero. They were not at all curious about the absence of any corroborating evidence to support her charges. They obviously either believed her unsupported assertions or chose to ignore the absence of evidence. All her named witnesses denied under oath of perjury any knowledge of her charges. Donald Trump's U.N. Speech: Showing Commanding Leadership

From Sunday to Thursday, a commanding President Trump practiced high-level diplomacy in New York.

Wielding a gavel, President Trump chaired the 8,362nd meeting of the U.N. Security Council, specifically on limiting weapons of mass death.

In the Middle East, Trump noted, "The bloodthirsty killers known as ISIS have been driven out from the territory they once held in Iraq and Syria." Nearby, Saudi Arabia and "The Gulf countries opened a new center to target terrorist financing," Trump explained.

President Trump slammed "The corrupt dictatorship in Iran." He said, "Iran's leaders sow chaos, death, and destruction. They do not respect their neighbors or borders, or the sovereign rights of nations. Instead, Iran's leaders plunder the nation's resources to enrich themselves and to spread mayhem across the Middle East and far beyond."

"In the years since the deal was reached, Iran's military budget grew nearly 40 percent." Trump observed.

"Last month, we began reimposing hard-hitting nuclear sanctions that had been lifted under the Iran deal," Trump stated.

Finally, unlike the increasingly socialist Democratic party, President Trump excoriated the poverty and pain that socialism generates wherever it slithers.

The Democrats and SCOTUS: The Real Record

The smear campaign against Bork was immediate and successful and his nomination was blocked by Senate Democrats with 97% voting "No".

All Democrats voted "Yes" as did most Republicans on Senate Vote 242 which confirmed Breyer.

Still, the 22 "No" votes were all Democrats and represented half the Democrat caucus that year.

40 of the senate's 42 Democrats voted "No."

Eventually Senate Vote 111 approved Gorsuch on a partisan 54-45 vote with Democrats holding ranks, as usual.

Less than 10% of Senate Democrats joined Republicans in voting to affirm Justice Gorsuch, 42 of 45 voted "No".

Democrats on the other hand kick, scream, resist, defame, bully, filibuster, dredge up 30-year-old sleaze, threaten to hold their breath until they die, throw tantrums, and refuse an affirmative vote when they are not in power and a SCOTUS seat becomes vacant.

Jeff Flake Isn’t A Truth-Seeker, He’s A Coward

There’s a great quote from the poker movie “Rounders”: “If you can’t spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker.” Time and time again, Sen. Jeff Flake has allowed the left to use him as a tool to advance their agenda.

Flake’s desire to be accepted and loved by the left all too often ends with him knifing conservatives in the back. Repeated attempts to be liked by his enemies has now morphed into Flake working against the small-government ideals he once claimed to champion.

Flake didn’t delay Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation vote out of some sense of higher moral duty. Giving the FBI another week to take the same sworn statements we already have on record isn’t going to move anyone a single step closer to determining if Kavanaugh assaulted Christine Blasey Ford. For all his weakness, Flake knows this. For all his flaws, Flake is not an idiot. Well, not entirely.

I say “not entirely” because he seems to miss an essential awareness of reality. Flake is constantly being played for a fool by the left because he relates to the leftist’s desire to live in a world of make-believe. He thinks there can be some “return to civility” in Washington. If he can just shine enough Democrat shoes, pick up their dry-cleaning, or maroon himself on an island with enough of them, then all will be nice and civil.

His efforts at “civility” all too often end with him siding with the enemy. On Thursday, Sen. Chris Coons made a SCOTUS hearing about how much beer someone drank in high school. On Sunday, Flake sat beside Coons on “60 Minutes.”
