New Abedin Emails Reveal Top Clinton Foundation Executive Doug Band Sought Diplomatic Passport from Clinton State Department

Judicial Watch today released 510 pages of new State Department documents, including a 2009 request by Clinton Foundation executive Doug Band for diplomatic passports for himself and an associate.  Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s aide Abedin responded to Band’s request positively, saying, “Ok will figure it out.”  The emails show Hillary Clinton forwarding classified information to Abedin’s unsecured, non-state.gov account. The emails also show Bill Clinton sought a meeting with Mrs. Clinton for a major Clinton donor with State Department officials and Hillary Clinton herself pushed for a joint event with the Clinton Global Initiative.  Band also pushed for and obtained special help from Abedin for seven-figure Clinton Foundation donor Chris Ruddy, of Newsmax.com.

Although an exchange sent from Sidney Blumenthal to Hillary Clinton concerning the “disastrous nature of the Obama trip” and the U.S. being “totally out of the loop in Berlin – no ambassador” with the expectation that “Germans and Russians will now cut their own separate deals on energy, regional security, etc….” had previously published by the State Department, it was unknown until now that Clinton forwarded this exchange containing classified information that was redacted for security reasons to Abedin’s unsecure non-state.gov account

The new documents included 37 Hillary Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date of such emails uncovered by Judicial Watch to 228 of new Clinton emails (not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department).  These records further appear to contradict statements by Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails were turned over to the State Department.

U.S., allies offered secret concessions to Iran in nuclear deal

The Obama administration and its allies cut a “secret” agreement allowing Iran to evade key restrictions under last year’s nuclear deal so Tehran would be able to receive major sanctions relief by the deal’s deadline, according to a report Thursday that put the White House on the defensive again about the controversial deal.
The report from the Institute for Science and International Security — a think tank run by a prominent former U.N. weapons inspector — said loopholes have been created to allow Iran to exceed limits set by the actual deal on the amount of uranium it can keep on hand in its various nuclear facilities.
Republicans were quick to jump on the report from the respected think tank, which comes as Iran’s military has staged a series of aggressive challenges to the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf and Mr. Obama was already under fire for his handling of a prisoner swap with Tehran in January that coincided with the payment of a major settlement to Iran.
“The exemptions or loopholes are happening in secret, and it appears that they favor Iran,” David Albright, the former inspector, told Reuters, which first reported on Thursday’s report, the claims of which have not been officially verified.

Liberty Reserve, Bitcoin, and the US Bank Regulatory Dog That Didn’t Bark

Perhaps readers are familiar with the Sherlock Homes story The Adventure of Silver Blaze, more particularly the famous plot device of the dog that didn’t bark. What our sleuthing hero was able to deduce from the muted mutt was that the supposed guard dog didn’t alert anyone to wrongdoing because he knew who the wrongdoer was.

After delving in to the most curious case of The United States of America vs. Liberty Reserve, while no match for Sherlock Homes, I was in a similar quandary.

But let’s back up a little. It is possible many readers are, at best, only vaguely familiar with Liberty Reserve and at worse completely unaware of what it was and what it did. Liberty Reserve was, put simply, a huge financial fraud, money launderer, sanctions evader and enabler of pretty much any kind of loathsome criminal activity you can mention. From the indictment:

… the scope of [Liberty Reserve’s] unlawful conduct is staggering. Estimated to have had more than one million users worldwide, with more than 200,000 users in the United States, Liberty Reserve processed more than 12 million financial transactions annually, with a combined value of more than $1.4bn. Overall, from 2006 to May 2013, Liberty Reserve processed an estimated 55 million separate financial transactions and it believed to have laundered more than $6bn in criminal proceeds.

Way back in 2013, when Liberty Reserve was shut down and the owners arrested, it did briefly make the mainstream media. This was after the U.S. Department of the Treasury discovered (I’m tempted to prefix this with the word “finally”, but I’ll resist the temptation) all the shady dealings going on at Liberty Reserve and promptly (well, not that promptly, it did take 7 years or more) threw the Patriot Act at it.

Why Now is the Right Time to Talk About Ethanol

Since it's been seven months since the Iowa caucuses and it'll be another three-plus years until that hell is fresh again, this is the best time to talk about ethanol.

Just in case you didn't know, ethanol is very popular in Iowa and other corn states, which is why most presidential candidates swear once every four years that they love ethanol so much they'd marry a jug of it if they could. If only for a moment, loyalty to this government moonshine becomes as fraught with political symbolism as a gay wedding in which both grooms refuse to wear American flag pins while declining to stand for the national anthem in support of our troops.

Thankfully, we don't have to worry about that for a little while, so let's tell the truth: Ethanol is stupid, wasteful and bad for cars (because it's corrosive and inefficient), the economy and the environment.

The main case for biofeuels is twofold. It's supposed to be better for the environment, particularly global warming, and lessen our dependence on foreign oil. The assumption was that converting plants into fuel was "carbon neutral," and since we can do that at home, every gallon of oil we replace with corn is one less we have to buy from overseas. The fact that it also lines the pockets of agribusinesses and the politicians who love them is supposed to be a total coincidence and irrelevant to this good and noble policy.

What Women Voters Need to Know About Hillary and Huma Abedin

A few days ago it was revealed that Anthony D. Weiner of New York was sexting a woman on Twitter.  In 2011 he had to resign from Congress after it was proven that he was sending lewd photos of himself to women on the internet.  This creepy behavior has another, deeper, more disturbing layer:  Weiner is married to Huma Abedin who is Hillary Clinton’s closest aide.

Women voters need to think about this; that both Hillary and Huma Abedin are married to men who aggressively seek out anonymous women.   Both of their husbands are sexual predators; and what is more disturbing is that both of these women know their husbands are sexual predators and did not divorce them, did not distance themselves from them, did not aggressively condemn their behavior.

That Hillary would choose an aide who is also married to a sexual predator is a very bizarre thing, something that has not been seen before in American politics.  Hillary has known for decades that her husband Bill is a sexual predator who has no respect for the dignity of women.  He had to pay Paula Jones $850,000 in order to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit, when Jones was initially willing to accept just an apology.  But Bill refused to apologize; he can’t find it in himself to show any kind of remorse for how he abused Paula Jones.  Bill was also accused of rape by another woman, Juanita Broaddrick, and has had a long list of women who complained about his indecent behavior toward them.

And in recent years Bill descended even lower into sexual decadence, flying with convicted pedophile  Jeffrey Epstein, to his island near Puerto Rico, an island where young girls were taken for alleged sexual encounters.  Bill just can’t stop.

Networks over the last two weeks targeted one political party with 12 times as many negative portrayals as the other, according to a new report.  Need time to guess which? The Media Research Center’s Rich Noyes, in a posting on Newsbusters, reports ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC portrayed the GOP negatively 63 times, while there were only five such references regarding the Democrats.  The report said MSNBC in prime time interviewed five Democrats at the RNC but no members of the GOP at the DNC, and CNN aired 62 minutes of official party videos during the DNC but only 14 minutes during the RNC.  Noyes reported: “By a 12-to-1 margin, journalists spent far more time deriding the Republican convention for its negativity, even as their reactions to Democratic speakers were consistently positive and often enthusiastic. Cable news had its own unique biases: MSNBC carved out time on each night of the GOP convention for interviews with top Democratic officials, but – despite promises to the contrary – aired no such interviews with Republicans during the Democratic convention.
