Evidence of America’s fiscal brokenness is everywhere.

Evidence of America’s fiscal brokenness is everywhere. Spiraling inflation, a national debt of $31 trillion and counting, and a bipartisan addiction to endless deficit spending in Congress.

But the problems don’t stop there. A large swath of the taxpayer-funded federal bureaucracy has become woke and weaponized against the American people, including our corrupt national security apparatus that cares less about keeping the American people safe than about keeping the regime in power.

That’s why the Center for Renewing America released our FY2023 Budget addressing the nation’s fiscal challenges. The budget includes a comprehensive effort to both revitalize the economy and remove the scourge of woke and weaponized government bureaucracy aimed at the American people.

Highlights of the budget we put forward include:
  • Balancing the budget in ten years
  • Revitalizing a strong economy by accomplishing roughly 3% growth
  • Achieving nearly $9 trillion in spending cuts over ten years while prioritizing cuts to woke and weaponized federal bureaucracy

A Paradigm-Shifting Budget

In my appearance on Kudlow on Fox Business, I made it clear that the outline of this budget is fairly simple. We need economic growth and cuts to government spending.

But what is paradigm-shifting about this budget is how it addresses the two greatest threats facing our country today: getting our fiscal house in order and stopping the woke and weaponized federal bureaucracy aimed at the American people.

That means challenging establishment orthodoxy on cuts to discretionary spending versus entitlements like Social Security and Medicare

As I told Roll Call:

There is a view on the Republican side that needs to be really tackled aggressively — that balance in 10 years is not possible, that you’ve got to go after Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries, that discretionary spending is not where the fight is, that defense needs to grow as far as the eye can see for 10 years.

We must starve the beast of woke discretionary spending, make significant cuts to balance the budget, and then build on that credibility with the American people to ultimately tackle entitlement reform.

CRA FY2023 Budget: A Commitment to End Woke and Weaponized Government

This budget offers insight on how to approach the upcoming budget wars. It will also provide a foundation that both fiscal hawks and America First activists can find common ground on. Our goal is for this budget to be a model that can be followed by the incoming Congress and conservatives in Congress for decades to come.
