Why Can't We Deal In Truth?

Revisionist history has distorted the truth for at least 100 years.  People have been and continue to be hoodwinked. Unfortunately far too many believe progressivism's revisionist lies of commission and omission. Those lies frequently come from highly intelligent and respected personalities so why shouldn't we believe them?  Being smart does not mean being honest, right or trustworthy. We shouldn't blindly accept what they because far too many of the population sector are purposely lying and deceiving us.  Lying and deception are the main progressive tactics employed from the time of Republican Teddy Roosevelt and Democrat Woodrow Wilson presidencies.  Revisionist's intent is to undo our nation's past in order to change the course of our future to one they prefer.  It is not a future any of us desire nor accept. Whether you believe the items below or not they are examples of their purposeful lies.  Carefully consider what you read. Check the facts.  Much of what has been previously shared was likely dismissed as misguided drivel by some, maybe even deemed to be outright attempts to defame and did not comport with what is deemed conventional truth.  I am neither demented, devious nor a purveyor of lies. But you will find that progressives are all of those and more.  For the purpose of this discussion put aside acceptance of conventional truths and investigate the possibility that what is thought to be true today may not be.  Give these examples the honest consideration they deserve because they are mostly if not completely factual/true.  They are not revised history/facts propagated by progressives telling us what they want us to believe.

This first item serves to introduce progressivism's thought process which has produced much of the history/facts taught in public schools and on university campuses for well more than 50 years.  Students at Princeton University recently stumbled upon a particular bit of truth long hidden by progressives.  And this truth has outraged them.  Three quotes. "Students at Princeton University have discovered that the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs on their campus is named after … well … after Woodrow Wilson.  Why is that important? Because, say the students, Wilson was a racist. And he wasn’t just a garden variety racist. He was the most racist US President of the 20th century. Maybe the most racist president ever."  Secondly, "So what is progressivism? To Woodrow Wilson and the intellectuals of the Progressive Era, progressivism represented a complete rejection of classical liberal thought – embedded in the Declaration of Independence and in other writings of the founding fathers. Progressivism was full blown collectivism, along with its wholesale rejection of the idea of individual rights."  And thirdly, "Condemning racism is the easy step. The much harder task is for these folks to self-reflect and discover how many other of their ideas have been inherited from progressive era thinking. Years ago Abraham Lincoln had this to say.  "From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some trans-Atlantic military giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never. No, if destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men we will live forever or die by suicide." http://townhall.com/columnists/jonahgoldberg/2015/11/28/illogical-spins-on-the-logic-of-diversity-n2085920?     For thinking people Lincoln spoke the truth.  Today, however, far too many do not think about or challenge the veracity of either the presenter or what they present.  They just accept whatever they say as truth.  Evidence follows that proves we need to be careful about discerning the truth no matter the source but especially propaganda rooted in progressive thought.  It is easy to distinguish because progressive thought always focusses on the rights of selected groups while ignoring, denigrating, demeaning or demanding the removal of individual rights.  While group rights are not mentioned in the Constitution where protecting individual rights are front and center.

Climate Change.

This is a continuation of the discussion of politics driven desired scientific outcomes.  Whether or not global warming is real is not the issue.  The issue is politics, which is the basic source of the lies that comprise the whole notion of global warming/climate change.  It is an accepted truth that the earth's climate has always changed without any human input. The belief that human activity influences climate in some way is, however, a highly contentious scientific theory and the subject of considerable debate.   http://www.redstate.com/2015/11/29/global-cooling-predicted/?  

Last February the Chief Climate Scientist at the UN announced the true purpose of the UN's Climate Change initiative.  Quote: "At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism."  YET, people like our socialistic president, John Kerry, Al Gore, the pope, self-serving political hacks and government bureaucrats, dishonest media advocates, deviant money grubbing university elitists, profiteering private businesses and fraudulent scientists continue their unethical, criminal even, onslaught of innocents around the globe.  The UN Climate Change initiative is a  colossal progressive lie.  Climate Change is the stalking horse by which they intend to install a global socialistic society with them in charge.  Not only that it is an "open" lie yet they continue to perpetrate the lie it as if we don't know it is a lie.  http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/021015-738779-climate-change-scare-tool-to-destroy-capitalism.htm  

Reinforcing the lie that is Climate Change this item expands our understanding what it really is. The author is co-founder and past president of Greenpeace. The emphasis is mine.  Quote: "The world’s top climate body, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change, is hopelessly conflicted by its makeup and it mandate. The Panel is composed solely of the World Meteorological Organization, weather forecasters, and the United Nations Environment Program, environmentalists. Both these organizations are focused primarily on short-term timescales, days to maybe a century or two. But the most significant conflict is with the Panel’s mandate from the United Nations. They are required only to focus on “a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the atmosphere, and which is in addition to natural climate variability.”
 So if the IPCC found that climate change was not being affected by human alteration of the atmosphere or that it is not “dangerous” there would be no need for them to exist. They are virtually mandated to find on the side of apocalypse."  I wish to reiterate one item he mentions: The UN mandate REQUIRED researchers to ONLY FOCUS on  "...a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the atmosphere, and which is in addition to natural climate variability."  No wonder their results are always wrong.  They were by mandate limited by charter to only research man made causes.  Natural causes were not to be examined.  Finding the scientific truth was not their job. Meeting a political objective was.  This huge deception has resulted in massive misleading propaganda campaigns and enormous waste of money better spent on real issues.  Instead of what advocates such as Al Gore demand be done to so called "deniers" they are the ones who deserve to be arrested and charged for crimes against humanity for their knowing lies and advocacy of waste of both human and fiscal resources for a false cause.  One cannot ignore the financial rewards many of the scientists and non-scientist advocates reaped largely from the public treasure in perpetrating this fraud.  http://technocracy.news/index.php/2015/10/30/former-president-of-greenpeace-scientifically-rips-climate-change-to-shreds/

This imminent scientist states the obvious.  Quote: "Obviously, the causes were all of natural origin, and not anthropogenic.  There is no reason to believe that these natural causes have suddenly stopped; for example, volcanic eruptions, various types of solar influences, and (internal) atmosphere-ocean oscillations all continue today.  (Note that these natural factors cannot be modeled precisely.)  Let’s call this the “Null Hypothesis.”  Logically therefore, the burden of proof is on alarmists to demonstrate that the Null Hypothesis is not adequate to account for empirical climate data; alarmists must provide convincing observational evidence for Anthropogenic CC (ACC)  – by detailed comparison of empirical data with GH models.  I am not aware of such proofs, only of anecdotal info – although I admit that ACC is plausible; after all, CO2 is a GH gas, and its level has been rising, mainly because of burning of fossil fuels.  However, ACC appears to be much smaller than predicted by GH models; there is even believed to be a period of no warming [“hiatus”] during the past 19 years – in spite of rapidly rising atmospheric CO2 levels [1]. Even after admitting their true intentions here is what they tell us the Paris summit is about.   Quote: "Let’s consider the Paris Climate Summit (COP21), scheduled to start on November 30 in Paris. No less than 120 nations will be represented by their heads of state, including Obama. Somewhere between 20 and 40 thousand credentialed representatives are going to attend.  That gives you some idea of the importance of the event. This is a big deal. Very big. As the Scientific American states in “Paris Attack Will Not Halt Global Climate Talks”:  “The two weeks of talks begin Nov. 30 and will take place at Le Bourget airfield on the outskirts of Paris. They are expected to culminate in a new international agreement to lower greenhouse gas emissions and possibly put in place a system by which nearly 200 countries can regularly enact new and stronger climate targets.”  If they do what they say here are the consequences.  It "...is the most ambitious effort yet to impose the pseudoscience of global warming on the planet. Lower CO2 emissions, carbon taxes, cap and trade, the whole works. Result? President Obama is off to Paris to attend the Climate summit. As if he and the other international political leader have a clue. Obama hopes "to make climate change policy the signature environmental achievement of his, and perhaps any, presidency," said an approving New York Times editor. Progressives are perfectly content to surrender freedoms to fight global warming -- perfectly content to give the executive branch unprecedented power to "act."
