Mexican cartels are making billions of dollars from drug trafficking, human smuggling, and exploiting the U.S. border, said Rep. Chip Roy.
They often send large groups through in one area of the border to tie up Border Patrol resources, which leaves nearby areas unpatrolled and open for illicit transport, said Rodney Scott, former U.S. Border Patrol Chief.
"These are human beings. They are put into the labor or sex trafficking trade and they're basically held as slaves to enrich the worst elements of our society-cartels, but also just illegal illicit organizations that are perfectly happy to use the cartel network to get the people that they're going to abuse. It's absolutely horrific," Roy said.
"The driver of the car was an American citizen employee of one of those cartels, moving those eight people-two of whom were bound in the trunk-heading to a stash house in Houston," Roy said.
Roy has introduced a bill that seeks to designate two cartels as terrorist organizations in the last two congressional legislative sessions.
"They don't give a rat's rear end about securing the border or trying to go after cartels," Roy said.
Roy said the United States needs to go after the cartels and reclaim operational control of the southern border.

76% Of Americans Oppose Biden's Pledge Only To Consider Black Women For Court Vacancy
We have been discussing the controversial pledge of President Joe Biden two years ago that he would only consider black women for the first vacancy to the Supreme Court.
Biden has promised that he will not consider males or non-black candidates.
During the primary, Biden wanted to garner support with black voters by saying that he would only consider black women for the next seat.
Notably, even 54 percent of Democrats agreed that Biden should consider all potential candidates.
Democratic senators have applauded Biden for his pledge.
President Biden could have stated his intention to seek a black female nominee without closing consideration to any other race or gender.
The Biden Administration has repeatedly been called out for policies or programs with racial criteria.

The first thing those getting jabbed learned was they would have to return in a few weeks for the "Second dose." That was understood and widely accepted, although the Janssen vaccine is different and only requires one shot.
Janssen is not nearly as available as the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna.
Since these vaccines are experimental, it'll take years to fully understand their effects.
Now serious scientists and clinicians in Israel are calling upon the government to admit that the vaccines don't work as expected and to work on other ways to control the virus, including effective treatments instead of ineffective vaccines.
The letter is addressed to the Israeli government, but it's equally accurate as applied to vaccine mandates anywhere in the world, including the U.S. As I stated earlier, it looks like we're at the point where the vaccines may be doing more harm than good by, in effect, training the virus to mutate in ways that defeat the vaccines.
More evidence is emerging about the side effects of the vaccines, including heart failure among otherwise healthy men under 40 and reproductive damage to women of childbearing age.
It's unlikely the Israeli government will admit to any of these failures; they have taken an all-or-nothing approach to the vaccines, much like U.S. public health authorities like Dr. Fauci.

Texas' new map actually strengthened the position of 12 of the 13 existing Democrats instead of going fully the offensive, and that's one of the maps Republicans are telling us we should be happy about.

Expert Hacker's 25,000-Word 'Secret Report' Threatens to Uncover Georgia's Real Election Vulnerabilities
The security flaws in Georgia's election system was uncovered by a professor who specializes in election integrity.
"As an expert for plaintiffs in the election security lawsuit, Halderman gained access to Georgia voting equipment for 12 weeks and produced a 25,000-word secret report."
"The vulnerability could be exploited by someone with physical access to a voting touchscreen, such as a voter in a polling place, or by an attacker who used election management system computers," the report added, citing Halderman.
On Thursday, Secretary of State Raffensperger called on Halderman to request that the judge release his findings on Georgia's election system and his pre-2020 election testimony.
There is currently a lawsuit in Georgia to force the state to jettison its $138 million voting system to go to an election system that uses paper ballots filled out by hand, which is potentially a bipartisan position.
"It's really concerning that the Georgia secretary of state and Dominion are kind of putting their head in the sand," said Susan Greenhalgh, an election security consultant for the plaintiffs suing Georgia over its election system.
The release of the 2020 Georgia election "Secret report" threatens to change all that.
JUDGE NAPOLITANO: More presidential killings
Last week, 11 senators and 39 members of the House of Representatives - Democrats all - to their credit sent a harshly worded letter to President Joseph R. Biden asking him to stop the killings.
Notwithstanding his unprosecuted war crimes, and with the government's version of Pearl Harbor still fresh in many Americans' minds, Truman was regarded as heroic for ordering the profoundly immoral, militarily useless, criminal mass killings against the hated Japanese using atomic bombs.
Fast-forward to the 9/11 era, and Bush had precedent to begin his own presidential killings of people the government wanted Americans to hate.
Obama took this to another level when he targeted and killed Anwar al-Awlaki and his 16-year-old son, both of whom were born in the U.S. Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, advised Obama that the killings were lawful, as al-Awlaki had encouraged folks in the Middle East to fight against American soldiers there.
Whenever a president wants to kill secretly, he need only find an example of a predecessor having killed secretly with impunity - without due process, without a declaration of war and without an imminent attack.
Stated differently, Joe Biden - whose drones in 2021 targeted innocent civilians in Afghanistan, killing dozens - is using unlawful powers that his modern predecessors used and got away with to target and kill unsympathetic persons.
Ultimately, we have ourselves to blame for these killings.
