Harmeet Dhillon on DOJ Suing Multiple States and DC Over Access to Voter Rolls: “We Have Found at Least 350,000 Dead People Currently On the Voter Rolls”

On April 19, 2026, Harmeet Dhillon, U. S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, discussed the Department of Justice's (DOJ) lawsuit against 29 states and the District of Columbia regarding access to voter rolls. During an interview on "Sunday Morning Futures" with host Maria Bartiromo, Dhillon addressed concerns about election integrity and the findings related to the current state of voter rolls.

1. Voter Roll Lawsuit:

• The DOJ is suing 29 states and D. C. for failing to provide access to voter rolls as mandated by the Civil Rights Act of 1960.

• About one-third of states have complied or reached settlements, while litigation continues with the remaining jurisdictions.

2. Findings on Voter Rolls:

• After reviewing approximately 60 million voter records, the DOJ discovered over 350,000 deceased individuals still listed on the voter rolls.

• Additionally, around 25,000 individuals with no citizenship records have been referred to Homeland Security.

3. Accountability for Election Issues:

• Bartiromo raised concerns about the lack of accountability regarding the Russia Collusion narrative, asking why no one has faced consequences.

• Dhillon explained that thorough investigations take time but stressed the DOJ's commitment under Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to address these matters.

4. Implications of Election Results:

• When questioned about potential interruptions to investigations if Republicans lose seats in the House, Dhillon affirmed that they will continue their work regardless of election outcomes.

• She emphasized that the DOJ has a duty to ensure public confidence in U. S. elections.

The DOJ under Harmeet Dhillon is actively pursuing access to voter rolls to address election integrity issues, revealing significant discrepancies, including deceased individuals on the rolls. Despite political fluctuations, the DOJ remains committed to its investigations and ensuring the integrity of elections in the United States.
