California ignores voter fraud –– and fights those who expose it

A recent article discusses issues related to voter fraud in California, using an unusual case where a woman registered her dog to vote to illustrate the potential vulnerabilities in the state's election system. It highlights the lack of cooperation from state officials when evidence of electoral problems is presented.

1. Example of Voter Registration: Laura Yourex received multiple voter registration cards at her home and jokingly registered her dog, Maya, to vote. She successfully obtained a mail-in ballot for her dog, showcasing how easily ineligible individuals can be registered.

2. State Officials' Response: When Yourex reported her experiences to election officials, instead of addressing the issue, they largely ignored her for five years. Eventually, she was charged with a crime related to her actions, though most charges were later dismissed.

3. Concerns of Ineligible Ballots: Evidence suggests that not only animals are receiving ballots but ineligible individuals as well. A complaint identified that a noncitizen in Orange County received an unsolicited mail-in ballot.

4. Obstruction of Investigations: In response to inquiries from the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding voter registration records, the Orange County Registrar provided a redacted list that hindered thorough investigation.

5. Ballot Seizures and Investigations: Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco seized 650,000 ballots, revealing discrepancies in votes. However, the California Supreme Court intervened, pausing his investigation, which Attorney General Rob Bonta publicly supported.

6. Identified Problems with Voter Rolls: An analysis by the Public Interest Legal Foundation revealed significant issues with California's voter rolls, including over 94,000 deceased persons and more than 57,000 individuals registered in multiple states.

7. Lack of Transparency: The report suggests that California's election officials avoid addressing these issues, focusing instead on opposing those who seek to uncover any fraud or irregularities in the election process.

The situation in California raises serious concerns regarding the integrity of the election process, with the state facing criticism for its handling of voter registration and attempts to investigate potential fraud. The highlighted issues indicate a crucial need for improved oversight and transparency in the state's electoral system.
