Suspected MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia possibly earned $100K a year smuggling illegal immigrants across US: witness

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member, faces serious human smuggling charges in a federal case. Reports indicate that he has made substantial earnings from trafficking, including minors, after being erroneously deported in March.

• Abrego Garcia allegedly earned between $1,000 and $1,500 for each smuggling trip and may have made over $100,000 a year by transporting migrants, primarily from Central and South America.

• Evidence presented during a Nashville court hearing revealed that he was involved in an operation charging migrants roughly $8,000 for entry into the United States. His role included picking them up in Texas and transporting them across the country.

• His smuggling operations came to light during a 2022 traffic stop in Tennessee, where he was pulled over while driving a vehicle filled with nine passengers, six of whom were undocumented. Bodycam footage showed $1,400 in cash on him at the time of the stop.

• Testimonies from co-conspirators suggest that about 30% of the passengers were gang members and that during transport, children were made to sit on the floorboards. Allegations of drug and gun smuggling were also mentioned.

• While his defense team claims the accusations are exaggerated, they pointed out potential conflicts of interest among the witnesses cooperating with federal authorities, some of whom have criminal backgrounds.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia has entered a not guilty plea against the human smuggling charges. His case raises significant concerns about gang involvement and the treatment of minors during smuggling operations, leading to ongoing discussions about his potential danger to the community.
