132 members of Congress, led by House Pro-Life Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Chris Smith and others, have requested the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to investigate and report on the federal funding awarded to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood over the past three years. This request was made through a bicameral letter signed by 81 House Members and 31 Senators, including top congressional leaders. The lawmakers are seeking updated information on federal funding for various organizations, including Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. They are looking for transparency and oversight of public funds to determine the value of services provided to American taxpayers. The GAO has previously reported that nearly $2 billion in federal taxpayer dollars went to the abortion industry between fiscal years 2019-2021. The lawmakers are requesting a similar report covering fiscal years 2022-2024 to provide insight for policymakers and the public. It is hoped that this report will aid in determining funding levels and increasing transparency for constituents and the general public.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to discern fact from fiction, and unfortunately the media has a strong bias. They spin stories to make conservatives look bad and will go to great lengths to avoid reporting on the good that comes from conservative policies. There are a few shining lights in the media landscape-brave conservative outlets that report the truth and offer a different perspective. We must support conservative outlets like this one and ensure that our voices are heard.
