House Speaker Mike Johnson recently released a document outlining more than 60 times President Joe Biden and his administration have gutted border security and encouraged illegals to pour into the country.
"Since his first day in office, Biden has worked to undermine America's border security systematically," Johnson said.
"On more than 60 occasions, he has manipulated the federal bureaucracy to open our borders to illegal immigrants, human trafficking, fentanyl, and potential terrorists. The result is a humanitarian and national security catastrophe. The President must use his executive authority to repair what he has broken. I am calling on him to do so." He proceeded to cite 64 infractions when border security policy was undermined and illegal immigration consented.
After his border policies have allowed an estimated 1.7 million known "Gotaways" to come into the United States unvetted, Biden claimed to be ready to secure the border.
"For too long, going back decades, the immigration system has been broken. It's time to fix it. That's why over two months ago I instructed members of my administration to work with a bipartisan group of Senators to - finally - seriously address the issue. And, that's what they've done - working around the clock, through the holidays and over weekends. Now we've reached an agreement on a bipartisan national security deal that includes the toughest and fairest set of border reforms in decades. I strongly support it," Biden said in a statement dated Feb. 4, referring to the bipartisan Senate national security agreement.
Just roughly $20 billion set aside in the 370-page "Emergency National Security Supplemental" bill is earmarked for the U.S. border.
