The trial of former Clinton lawyer, Michael Sussmann, is underway. Fellow lawyer at the Democrat dominated Perkins Coie law firm, Marc Elias, has testified that he briefed the Clinton campaign on their law firm's efforts to conduct operation research against Donald Trump to benefit her presidential campaign. The piece picks up from there. Quote: "A former attorney for the Clinton Campaign may have just put one nail in the coffin of Michael Sussmann. Marc Elias was on the stand for about three hours on Wednesday. As part of his testimony, he confirmed that GPS Fusion was conducting oppo research on Trump and that he had briefed the campaign on that research. Elias is a former partner at Perkins Coie, the firm that served as general counsel for the Hillary Clinton campaign during the 2016 election. He also confirmed that GPS fusion was hired to do the oppo research on Trump when it became clear Trump was going to get the nod by the GOP. Elias also confirmed that he briefed campaign manager Robby Mook, campaign chairman John Podesta, and policy director Jake Sullivan — who now serves as White House National Security adviser in the Biden administration.
Communications official Jennifer Palmieri was also in the loop. This would explain Hillary’s tweet that claimed Trump had a connection with a Russian bank, a claim that was completely debunked…That tweet, by the way, has already been dismissed as evidence in the case against Sussmann by the Obama-appointed judge presiding over the case.
And, while he has allowed Durham access to roughly two-dozen emails regarding the work that Sussmann did and the information he turned over to the FBI, they cannot be used during the trial. Even though the FBI immediately debunked the dossier, it was eventually used to conduct a surveillance operation and the key document used to secure FISA warrants against the Trump campaign. As we know now, the entire report was garbage, yet Sussmann took it to the FBI to help Hillary win the presidential election. Durham’s team is now attempting to portray it as a version of the “October Surprise” that opposing campaigns will often launch in late October to derail an opponent. Elias did try to pour water on that simply due to the timing of the meeting with Sussman and the FBI, which took place in September." This trial is possibly already rigged by the Judge overseeing the trial, an Obama appointee, because he unbelievably allowed Clinton donors/supporters to serve on the jury. Does that not strike you as inappropriate??? Quote: "The moment Michael Sussmann agreed to take this case to trial, John Durham had an uphill climb. It is not because Durham does not have a case… this case is about as open and shut as it gets. The problem is that he will try a powerful Democrat in a Democrat-dominated town, with a Democrat jury, and a Democrat-appointed judge. If you have an attorney who worked for Hillary and is on trial for something he did on Hillary’s behalf to help her win a presidential election, commonsense would dictate that Hillary donors should not be permitted to sit on the jury. Judge Christopher Cooper, a Barack Obama flunkey, does not agree. After the Clinton donor stated that he would “strive for impartiality as best I can,” Cooper gave him the thumbs up to be on the jury over the objections of Durham’s prosecuting team.
Several other donors were also permitted to stay on the jury, promising to be impartial, because we all know people never lie, right. I will be stunned if this jury comes back with a conviction against Sussmann. The case is expected to last about two weeks, so we will quickly have that answer. I am fully ready to eat a plate of crow if I am wrong, but when it comes to liberals and Democrats, my optimism is non-existent these days." FYI. Obama was president during the time this whole mess took place and it is impossible to believe he did not know what was going on. So, it looks like maybe the Judge is protecting him from being drug into the mess by denying relevant testimony to be presented. Just guessing. Nonetheless this is classic left-wing justice in action.
The trial also is getting close to the central figure in the whole Russiagate fiasco, Hillary Clinton. Quote: "Hillary’s Hidden Hand: Clinton Okayed Anti-Trump Media Hit Job, Trial Reveals. Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton approved a plan during the 2016 campaign to feed false allegations of Trump-Russia collusion to the media, her campaign manager said Friday. Testifying to a federal court in the trial of Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, Robby Mook noted that Clinton signed off on a scheme to send journalists data about possible links between Donald Trump and Russia's Alfa Bank. The effort was successful, as a news outlet just days before the election published a story that alleged covert connections between Trump and the bank. The allegation has since been debunked, with the FBI finding there was not a nefarious link between Trump and Alfa Bank.
Mook's testimony is the first confirmation that Clinton was involved in the decision to give the Trump-Alfa Bank story to journalists. Mook said that campaign leaders "weren't totally confident in" the allegations and wanted to share them with reporters to investigate further. Mook said he discussed the strategy with Clinton, who okayed the plan. Slate on Oct. 31, 2016, published a report that said a team of anonymous computer researchers had discovered that Trump's real estate company, the Trump Organization, had a secret communications channel with Alfa Bank. Unmentioned in the story was that the computer researchers were collaborating with Sussmann and other political operatives working for the Clinton campaign.
Mook was asked at the trial to read a statement Clinton released that touted the Slate story. Clinton wrote that "computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank." She linked to a statement from Jake Sullivan, her foreign policy adviser, that said the story "could be the most direct link yet between Donald Trump and Moscow."
Sussmann is on trial for allegedly lying to the FBI's general counsel during a Sept. 19, 2016, meeting at FBI headquarters. Special Counsel John Durham, who is prosecuting the case, alleges that Sussmann lied to the FBI lawyer, James Baker, by denying he provided the Alfa Bank data on behalf of a client. Sussmann has denied the charge, but text messages revealed this week at trial show that Sussmann told the FBI lawyer he wanted to have a meeting in his personal capacity, not on behalf of a client.
Clinton has not addressed her role in spreading fake news about Trump." Hillary’s Hidden Hand: Clinton Okayed Anti-Trump Media Hit Job, Trial Reveals (freebeacon.com)
Since in the past she has gotten away with the commission of crimes (classified email violations, etc.) she probably thought she would get away again. Looks like her luck may be running out. The time for her to face the music for past indiscretions seems to be approaching.
A second witness at the trial was former FBI general counsel who detailed Sussman's attempt to deceive the FBI by claiming to not represent Hillary Clinton. Details here. Quote: "Michael Sussman Getting Buried in Durham Probe Trial. So far, two major witnesses have taken the stand for the prosecution. Both of them have buried Sussman. The latest being former FBI general counsel James Baker. Baker’s testimony made it quite clear that Sussmann lied to the FBI when he presented the bogus information regarding Donald Trump’s alleged ties to the Russians.
According to Baker, Sussmann, right from the outset of his meeting, stated that he was not working on behalf of a client. Sussmann acted as though he was just a good citizen, but what he was doing was trying to help Hillary’s campaign. Baker stated, “He said that he was not appearing before me on behalf of any particular client.” He added that he was, “100% confident that he said that in the meeting.” Baker went on to say, “We were aware of and wary of being played – having the fact of our investigation being the thing to enable the press to report on something flawed or incomplete.” Earlier in the week, another witness, FBI Agent Scott Hellman, testified, “I do remember I was frustrated at not being able to ID who had provided these thumb drives to Mr. Baker. He was not willing to tell me.” Baker’s cross-examination is set for Friday, but this is an open and shut case so far. The only question is if the prosecution can sway a Democrat-dominated jury packed with Hillary donors and one individual who has a child that played sports in high school with one of Sussman’s kids." This is a most interest bit of insight that John Durham was able to get out of Hillary Clinton's former campaign manager, Robbie Mook. Quote: "If you've ever wondered why Hillary Clinton wouldn't go to Wisconsin, a last-straw omission that apparently cost her the 2016 election, the answer might just be in the latest filings of special counsel John Durham, who has teased a doozy out from former Clinton campaign manager Robbie Mook. According to Mark Wauck's Meaning in History: I think we can say definitively that the wait has been worth it. John Durham has not let us down. I'm speaking, of course, of Hillary campaign manager Robbie Mook's testimony — obviously, under oath — at the Sussmann trial that the Alfa Bank Hoax was cleared for use by Hillary personally and was discussed within her inner circle: with John Podesta, Jake Sullivan, and Jennifer Palmieri. Maybe someday we'll learn how Durham pulled this off — getting this Clinton insider to turn on Hillary. It's a real coup.
So Hillary was behind the Russia-Russia-Russia hoax, and she was crazy enough to get her flunkies into the legal trouble she's currently gotten them in by ordering that information to get out. According to Wauck, that's big, because that's an easily-understood-by-the-public scandal, and Hillary continues to have political ambitions as Joe Biden falls apart: This story coming out of a trial that's under a reporting blackout by the MSM will have legs. Hillary will be finished. Of course she was a known liar and cheater already, but now she's a known liar and cheater in the specific context of the Russia Hoax, the 2016 election, and beyond — the faux impeachments of Trump, the four years of insane witchhunting after Trump. It will also rub off on the rigged 2020 election. It will rub off on the Dem party. Trump will get the word out. It will be all over social media. Even if there are no convictions, Durham has brought home the bacon.
Here's more from Leo Turrell: "What's
vivid to me is that this isn't the only 2016 campaign scandal she was
directly behind. She was also behind this, which I wrote about in February: With
revelations from Special Counsel John Durham's investigation that her
2016 campaign literally paid tech companies to spy on the Trump
campaign, the Trump transition, the Trump residence, and the Trump White
House, the question now is what kind of felony charges are coming. ![]()
...and this: James O'Keefe's Project Veritas has released video evidence that left-wing organizer and high-level Democratic Party operative Robert Creamer is, in fact, linked directly to Hillary Clinton, who personally approved at least one of his disruptive tactics.Last week, O'Keefe produced video showing Creamer, the co-founder of the Democracy Partners consulting group, and his colleague, Scott Foval, discussing their past and present efforts to incite violence at Donald Trump rallies and other events.
The stated goal was to create "anarchy" around Trump, presumably to make him less appealing to American voters. Foval described Democracy Partners as a contractor for the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook tried to evade the controversy by denying a direct link between Creamer and the campaign. When Breitbart News' Washington political editor, Matthew Boyle, confronted Mook about Creamer and his firm in the spin room after the third presidential debate, Mook claimed: "They've never worked for our campaign." When asked if Clinton had ever discussed the controversial political operations with Creamer directly, Mook replied: "I don't think so." Now, however, O'Keefe and Project Veritas have released video of Creamer claiming that Clinton directly approved one of his more bizarre plans — an effort to attract media attention and incite violence by dressing an activist in a Donald Duck costume and sending that activist into Trump events, emphasizing the argument that Trump was "ducking" releasing his tax returns.
So Hillary was spreading Russia hoax lies, spying on the Trump campaign, and fomenting violence at Trump rallies. She wasn't about campaigning for herself in this campaign, or campaigning to persuade voters — she was directly or nearly directly implicated in one dirty trick after another, some illegal, to Get Trump. That's quite a Dr. Evil operation she had there with so many different tentacles, yet it may have been so many she had no time left to campaign. This is like the left's stereotype image of Richard Nixon, fuming about his enemies, but with a heavier serving of dirty tricks and sorry bids to take down Trump, none of which worked, but all of which weighed down on his presidency for no legitimate reason.
With Mook spilling the beans to Durham, quite possibly because he's forgotten he needed to keep it secret, it's obvious she wasn't even good at hiding her tracks. She spent so much her time trying to get Trump and so little of her time trying to persuade voters to vote for her that she somehow never made it to the presidency. And now word is out as to how corrupt and resentful she is. Wait till next time...if Mr. Durham doesn't cut this off right there with this latest indictment and trial."
